"And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels"

"You ready?"

Mathias emerged from the lower deck of the boat to where River stood on boarding holding part of the rigging in one hand, the sea wind wafting through her long blonde curls. She nodded her head, a giant red hue still stained on her cheeks from the night they had spent together. The boat was rocking and rolling!

In his hands, Mathias held two snorkels. Placing one on the ground he gently placed the other over River's head, tightening the strap so that it was securely on her face. He was so engrossed in the strap that when he actually looked at the woman properly he jumped in surprise at the face she pulled; tongue out, eyes crossed. A snigger left his lips as he quickly leaned forward taking hers in his, his hands bunching up some of her hair.

River patted Mathias' chest, pushing him back, "Come on buddy, let's get in the water," Said she, leaning down and grabbing his snorkel putting it over his head. She attempted to adjust his but failed miserably resulting in the man doing it himself, taking the mickey out of the fact that she couldn't do it.

"3...2...—!"

"One!" Exclaimed River leaping off of the boat, bringing her legs to her chest like a canon ball and breaking the surface just as Mathias registered to jump.

Underneath the water was magical, it's life was a range of mesmerising colours as they floated by. River kicked her legs gently, delving feeling towards the sea floor, Mathias joining her side leading her down to where an oyster shell laid solitarily on a rock. Mathias grinned pointing at it. River reached out and picked it up, handing it to the blonde hunk beside her. He tucked it into his pocket and zipped it up. Taking her hand, he pulled her through the water a little further over and took hold of some sea weed and threw at her.

River screamed. A stupid mistake. Her mouth filled with water and as she coughed more and more entered. Mathias was swarmed with bubbles as the girl struggled before him. He clasped her waist, pushing up from the sea floor with as much force as he could muster dragging her up as he went. River continued to choke unable to control herself as he led her up and up the bottom of the boat looming closer to them.

Once River's head was above the surface, Mathias dove back down and underneath her pushing her up by her legs. The woman grasped the edge of the boat still coughing and coughing as Mathias shoved her, not so elegantly, onto the deck, hauling himself up afterwards.

"Get onto your side," he instructed her, ripping off his snorkel and gently taking hers off too. River rolled onto her side. He slapped her back to encourage it out of her seizing her choking. "Are you okay?"

River nodded her head, flopping onto her back breathing heavily. During this mess her hand hand found Mathias' and she was clutching it tightly. "Dandy." She said.

"Damn, I didn't even get to give you the kiss of life."

River sat up, leaning on her elbows. "So you'd rather me be choking right now?"

Mathias shook his head, "of course not! But it would be an excuse to kiss you,"River cackled, leaning up and pressing her lips to the man, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Damn."

"Are you going to be alright?" Mathias asked as River hopped off of his boat, case in hand and her other offering shade for the blinding sun.

River smiled, "I'll be fine. Thank you again, for everything."

"It's been a pleasure, now, I'll be back in four weeks. Will you still be here?"

"Most probably, have a fun and safe time, Mathias."

"I will. Don't miss me too much," Mathias winked, turning the wheel as the engine started up once again. River guffawed shaking her head in amusement. She watched as the boat broke the waves and Mathias slowly disappeared into the distance. Once again, a man became just a memory.

Spinning around, River drew a deep breath in anticipation and took to walking around the island in search of somewhere to stay. So far she hadn't seen anywhere and was debating building a fort out of branches, twigs and leaves and kipping in that.

The island was tremendously picturesque. It's greenery where the brightest and most vibrant green she had ever seen and the same could be said for all of the flowers. Buildings were made of pure white stones and looked dreamlike. It was much more than she could imagine, she had dreamed of Greece for years and this was so much more. She couldn't believe her eyes and the wondrous island.

"Oh how wonderful!" River exclaimed, her face lighting up in joy as a small farmhouse came into view.

The farmhouse was a little run down and the surrounding foliage was not very well kept but nevertheless it was amazing in River's eyes. It seemed as if nobody had inhabited it for many years which was perfect and led to the young woman edging her way into it, having to put a little bit of oomph in order to pry the front doors open. River was greeted with dust coated, older furniture and stairs that looked ready to collapse. Placing down her case near the door on a chair, River explored the house, her boots kicking away dust that laid across the rickety wooden panels on the floor like a brown blanket.

She clung onto the rail as she ascended the stairs onto the second level which was just as magnificent as the first. There were five rooms and two bathrooms on this level, all decorated with blue and white decor with paintings of far away lands hanging lonesome on the walls. One bedroom, the master bedroom, contained a dressing table and had a large bed in the centre, covered in dust sheets to preserve it much like some of the other furniture.

River ripped the sheet off to find a beautiful duvet and pillow set, embroidered with wondrous patterns of royal blue thread and the cases themselves were pearl white silk. Oh such heavenly bedding!

She collapsed on the bed with a giant sigh, it's mattress moulded under her weight holding her like a giant hug which made her not what to move from it at all.

Was this her destiny?
