Everyone was silent for a beat.

Tommy was the first to speak.

"What the fuck?" He questioned, his lips curled into a scowl.

She only responded by raising an eyebrow.

"Why the hell are we here? You come here and you take us from everything we know and put us in a place where we can get killed and have gotten killed." His thoughts go straight to Jon.

"Tommy, stop," Nick said, resting his hand on the older man's shoulder. "I don't like this anymore than you, but we need to hear her out."

Tommy only pulled from him before turning from her.

"So, why?" Nick asked, crossing his arms.

She pressed her lips together.

"I didn't mean to choose you all specifically," She said. "But you were the ones to come along. I'm sorry, but I have no choice."

Addie was the next to respond. "How did you not have a choice?"

The older woman only hummed.

"I have to finish my end of a deal," She told the group. She held up a hand as she saw Cory open his mouth. "Shut up for a second."

Cory's nose twitched.

"I had to. My brother was dying," She told them. "I striked up a deal with this thing called the Entity. Bunch of supernatural shit. I was able to save him but I had to bring people here. Sacrifices. Said at least three or he'll die. I couldn't let him die. It would kill my parents."

Nick was the one to become angered this time.

"So, let me get this straight," He started, beginning a slow pace. "You forced all of us, including three teens," Ate, Sal, and Jon, "and a child," Addie, "to have to try and fight for our lives and being turned on each other because you had to save your sibling?"

He turned to face her.

His expression was worringly hard.

His eyes were narrowed and dark. His eyebrows were furrowed. His lips were pulled into a thin line.

"Does it really make sense when you hear it?"

She only shook her head.

"I know your loyalty to your friends," She responded. "And others, Nicholas," Her eyes flickered to Ashlie for a split second. "Would you not do the same for them?'

Nick narrowed his eyes before giving a small shake of his head. "No," He told her. "No. Because I'm not a fucking idiot. My family," He pointed to the group. "would kick my ass if I killed others to save one of them. So no."

She gave a slight shake of her head before turning. "I'll see you all tonight," She said before heading to the door.

"What's your name? Tell us that at least," Ashlie called after her.

She earned a scoff and an eyeroll.

"Fine."

Everyone fell silent.

"It's Lachlan. Don't remember it."

With that, she left.
