Writing and Drawing
Time ticked on moving dreadfully slow. After five minutes Levi could have sworn that hours had passed. He kept restlessly checking the clock in vain. The sleep deprivation was prying at his eye lids and eating away at his thoughts, it was making his head ache with worry. Levi let out a sigh and decided to write, it always helped him pass the time. He excelled in several different languages such as Sign, Spanish, Latin, French, and English but he mostly preferred to write in English because more people could understand it where he lived.
He wrote all day, stories, and poems mostly, but he found himself doodling while thinking of what to do next. "Funny I was never one for doodling on my papers," he chuckled, "that was until someone had told me it was a great way to pass time and get your creativity back in gear."
Levi smiled and looked up at Eren, "You told me that, back in freshman year when I asked why all of your papers had doodles on them." Levi chuckled at the memory. "That was back when I taught English," he sighed. "That was years ago, but ever since I've taken your advice, and you know you're right it does help."
Levi decided to put his pen down and he picked up a pencil. "Remember the other day when you drew me?" Levi smiled, "mind if I return the favor?" Levi said flipping to a empty page in his notebook.
Levi sketched the outline of the boy's face but after a while he pulled out his phone and looked at a picture. The picture was from the Ferris wheel, Eren had stolen Levi's phone and took a picture of them. Levi looked scared to death as he had just looked down and saw how high up they were, Eren had a bright smile and his teal eyes shone like emeralds in the sun. The sunset lighting had hit the boy's face making his facial features show perfectly.
Levi smiled at the picture. "I think this will do as a reference picture, don't you?" Levi chuckled a sad laugh as he looked at the picture. Eren was so far yet so close, his smile was right in front of him yet seemed so distant. Like the sun behind rain clouds. He sighed, but took a deep breath and began sketching.
It took him a few hours but he managed to finish it, he hadn't thought of himself as a good artist until he saw the details he put into this drawing. The little doodle turned more into a portrait. He knew he would never be able to draw anything else like this beautiful masterpiece in front of him.
On the back he wrote a little note to Eren and signed it,
To the Love of My Life,
I can't wait to see these beautiful eyes of yours looking into mine with the sparkle of the night sky. I can't wait to see you smile at me with that smile that's so radiant it's contagious. I can't wait for your laughter to spark joy into anyone who hears it. I can't wait to hold your hand and feel you squeeze mine back for comfort. I can't wait to hold you in my arms and never let go. I'll be right here waiting for you to wake up, I'll always be waiting, because you're worth the wait.
Love, Levi
Levi set the drawing on the small table with the cards from Marco and Jean. His alarm had went off telling him it was time to go pick up Mikasa. As he was grabbing his keys he got a text saying Annie would drop her off. Levi shrugged and sat back down. He had more time to kill while he waited for people to come. He had finished the only thing keeping his mind busy and just like that he felt the anxious nerves come back.
