Chapter 4

The first week of college had been incredibly mundane. Izuku didn't know what he expected from college but he'd always imagined a bit more... flare? All he got were classes and hanging out in the apartment.

Okay, so maybe the monotony was a bit his fault. It didn't help that he wasn't going out and meeting people, but seriously, who the fuck wanted to do that? Izuku would survive as he always had, relatively lonely.

"C'mon, go get dressed," Shoto instructed as he glared down at Izuku lying on the couch.

The green-haired boy had a bowl of popcorn in his lap that he had been snacking on for almost half an hour while he binged a random show he'd found. Shoto had marched down the hall and fixed him with his best disappointed-mom glare, confusing the shit out of him. What the hell had he done to warrant that?

"Um, for what?"

Shoto snatched the remote off the coffee table and shut the TV off before answering. "There's a party at Katsuki's place and you're coming with me."

"I hate parties," Izuku said in a deadpan tone. He could appreciate that Shoto wanted him to feel included, but he and parties didn't mix well. They'd already discovered that a while ago.

"Yeah, well, you need one," Shoto said as he tossed the remote onto the couch. "College is supposed to be about... I don't really fucking know, but I know it's not hiding away in our apartment for four years."

"But I don't like parties, why would I go?" Izuku asked, making no move to get up from the couch. He was pretty confident he could talk his way out of going, he'd always been more stubborn than Shoto.

Unfortunately for him, Shoto wasn't in the mood to back down. He crossed his arms over his chest and fixed a pointed glare on his younger brother. "Because you need to meet someone that isn't Katsuki, or me, or our friends. Someone your own age who isn't graduating this year or next year is going to be incredibly lonely for you."

"Why do you care about my friend count, it's never been high," Izuku pointed out, letting his head rest on the back of the couch as he stared up at Shoto. It was a valid question to pose, he'd never had more than two friends at a time. If he was counting Shoto and Katsuki's friends, then he was actually doing very well for himself.

"Because of what happened the last time you didn't have good friends and I was gone."

Izuku let out a small chortle at his reasoning. "I went to parties last time, so why encourage it now if you don't want me to end up there again? You're contradicting yourself, Sho. You'll never win an argument that way."

If Shoto wanted to go to law school next year, getting out argued by Izuku wasn't a good way to start his career. Izuku was just trying to help his brother out.

"It's not a contradiction, stop trying to be a lawyer," Shoto said with a sigh, bracing his hands on the back of the couch on either side of Izuku's head. He peered down at his brother, who had nowhere to go. "The parties at Katsuki's house, where we can both keep an eye on you."

"Oh, great, so I'll have a babysitter again," Izuku said with an exaggerated roll of his eyes. "Because that doesn't infantilize me at all."

"Come to the party, Iz," Shoto said, all humor and light atmosphere gone. All that was left was a somber tone and sincere gaze. "Learn how to have fun in moderation, so I don't have to worry about you next year."

Izuku groaned as he pushed him away. "Fine, I'll go to your dumb fucking party. I'll bitch about it the whole time, though, as payback."

"I still consider that a win."

"Of course you would."

"How long do we have to stay for?" Izuku shouted over the music as Shoto led him into Katsuki's place. He was already starting to get a headache, which meant the night was destined to be hell.

"A few hours," Shoto called back with a shrug. When he saw the genuine despair on Izuku's face, he spoke again, "Katsuki's room's upstairs. You can hide out there if you need to."

"I'm not hiding in Kacchan's room," Izuku said in disgust, his brows furrowing together. He still wasn't sure exactly where he stood with the blond, but falling back on blind hatred seemed like a good place to be.

Shoto shook his head with a small smile, his walls dropping just from being at the party. He hadn't even drank yet, but apparently, he was already more comfortable there than Izuku normally saw. "Then I guess you're stuck down here with me."

"Are you even fun at parties?" Izuku wondered aloud as he followed Shoto into the living room. The furniture had been pushed out of the way, leaving lots of room for drunk college students to do something close to dancing in the space.

Izuku thought it looked more like soft porn, but who was he to judge?

"I'm almost offended by that question," Shoto said as he led Izuku over to the couch that was now pressed against a far wall. "Katsuki and I are the ones who taught you how to drink."

"I can't believe you got him to show," Katsuki said as he joined up with them on the couch, a drink already in his hand. Izuku figured it was his second or third based on the way he clapped a hand against Shoto's back. The blond was never one for casual contact, even with the two guys he'd been raised with.

"Look at that, I'm officially too sober for this," Izuku exclaimed, already searching the crowd for the best route to the kitchen.

Katsuki's brows pinched together as he looked over at Shoto. "Is he allowed to drink?"

Izuku scoffed at the question while pushing himself to his feet. Katsuki certainly didn't have a right to decide that, neither did Shoto. If he wanted to get drunk at a party he was forced to attend, then goddamn it he was going to get drunk.

"I didn't bring him to a party so he could sit in the corner," Shoto said with an eye roll, using one finger to push Katsuki's head back. Drunk Katsuki didn't exactly know what personal space was.

"Have fun with that," Izuku said to the dual-haired boy, nodding his head at Katsuki. "I'm getting a drink."

Half an hour later and Izuku was still nursing his first drink. He couldn't tell what was in it, but he knew it was something mixed with vodka. Pretty typical for a frat party.

Is Kacchan's considered a frat? I mean, I know it's not, but it's pretty damn close.

His own thoughts were all he had to keep himself entertained. He'd lost Shoto in the sea of people after bailing to the kitchen and hadn't seen anyone he recognized since. Unfortunately, sitting on a couch and thinking could only keep him busy for so long.

"Fucking fine," he whispered to himself as he let his eyes roam over the people gathered, looking for the best escape route to the upstairs of the house. Hiding out in Katsuki's room sounded less than appealing, but at least there wouldn't be so many people.

He made it through the crowd and up the stairs with relative ease, but that was where his luck ran out. He'd never even seen the top floor of the house, let alone knew which of the doors led to his brother's room. Trail and error was Izuku's only option.

He tried to first door and was met with the sight of a passed-out girl on a bathroom floor. Definitely not Katsuki's room then.

The second door was locked, which made Izuku's anxiety spike. Locking his bedroom door during a party was something Katsuki would do. What if his room was locked and Izuku couldn't get in? At that point, he's probably just sit in the hallway.

"Hey!"

Izuku whirled around at the shout, needing to tilt his head back to look up at the guy. He was taller than Shoto and built like a brick wall. He would have intimidated the shit out of Izuku if he wasn't so drunk he had to hold onto the wall for support.

The guy pointed to Izuku and then to the floor below them. "Bakugou really doesn't like people poking around up here, dude," he slurred, pushing some of his black hair away from his face as he squinted down at Izuku.

Izuku scratched at the back of his neck, taking a small step back from the drunk man. "Oh, uh, I was actually just looking for his room, he's-"

"Whoa, dude," the guy said, his eyes widened as he looked down at Izuku. "That is a big no-no, bud. Bakugou doesn't let anyone in his room."

Izuku furrowed his brows at the other man, who clearly had no idea who he was. He wasn't offended or anything, he was just annoyed that the guy wouldn't let him explain who he was. "Well, actually he's my-"

"Dude," the guy cut him off again, taking a wobbly step closer to Izuku. The shorter boy was running out of space to back up, his shoulders already pressed against the door behind him. "He's got a boyfriend, it's never gonna happen, freshie."

"Ew!" Izuku shouted gut reaction to the insinuation that he wanted to sleep with the guy he considered a brother. "Fuck, that's gross. Jesus, I don't want to sleep with him. Oh my god, holy fuck. That is awful to think about. Fuck you."

The drunk guy thought that was the funniest shit ever. Izuku cringed in on himself when his alcohol-ridden breath hit his face from their close proximity. Both of the drunk guy's hands moved up to rest on the door, effectively caging Izuku.

Oh, fuck this guy, Izuku thought as he narrowed his eyes into a glare.

"Sure, let's say you don't want to have sex with him. What is it you do want, freshie?"

For you to stop using that goddamn suggestive tone, he thought to himself while doing what he did best. Thinking up a way to get out of his current situation as fast as possible. The guy was drunk and using the door to support all his weight. It was a no-brainer, really.

Izuku smiled up at him, getting a pang of satisfaction as the guy leaned in closer. "You wanna know a secret?"

The drunk guy nodded his head, starting to look eager. The big idiot probably thought he was about to get laid.

Izuku shrugged one shoulder as his hand found the doorknob and gave a quick twist. The door was quickly pushed open from the weight of drunk guy's body and Izuku slipped out of the way as he went crashing to the floor.

Izuku looked down at the groaning man with a blinding smile. "I don't want to sleep with you, either."

"Okay, what the actual fuck?"

Izuku snapped his head up, his eyes locking with Shinsou's, who was sitting up on a bed with his phone in his hand. He glanced around the room once before coming to his own conclusion.

He'd just thrown a drunk guy through Shinsou's doorway.

there's only one more chapter after this that i actually have written... don't know how long it'll be before i write again lolz.
