Chapter 20
Sero's smile fell at Kaminari's words, sending a small shiver of triumph through Izuku. That was enough for him to know that he wasn't overreacting.
"I slept around a lot the first few years of college," he admitted with a sigh, leaning back on the couch and stretching his arms over the back. "Can you really blame me though? It's college."
Izuku shrugged, his lips pursing as he avoided looking at either of the men. "I believe Shinsou's words were you have a problem stealing other people's toys."
"I stole a few girlfriends and maybe a boyfriend or two, but people aren't toys, Iz," he said back, a severe look on his face that Izuku pointedly tried to ignore.
He did so by looking past the raven-haired man and raising a brow at Kaminari. The blond shrugged, holding his hands up in surrender, "Okay, so my count might have been off. Sue me."
Izuku was unconvinced. "You're a mathematical genius. I know you did that on purpose," he huffed.
A hand reached out, lacing Sero and Izuku's fingers together and forcing him to meet the older man's eyes. Sero's brows were furrowed as his thumb rubbed circles across the back of Izuku's hand. "You're not mad because I've slept around, Iz. What's really bugging you?" he asked, his voice taking on a softer tone like he was worried he'd scare Izuku away.
Izuku held his gaze, not backing down. Sero and Kaminari were the ones who were always telling him to raise his standards, to stand up for himself. It was time for him to take their advice. "Am I just another thing to steal? Is that why you guys are doing all this?" he asked, impressed that his voice didn't crack or sound too strained. He was holding himself together remarkably well.
"Hey," Kaminari's voice called out. "Don't include me in that. I don't steal people; I prefer when they beg." He shot Izuku another wink, causing the tips of his ears to burn once again. With great effort, he was able to brush it off before it spread any further.
"No, Iz," Sero said firmly, giving his hand a tight squeeze and drawing Izuku's attention back to him. His eyes were full of sincerity and heat, and Izuku felt his breath hitch. "Wanting you has nothing to do with stealing you. I've wanted you since I saw you telling Bakugou off in our living room, baby. I beat myself up every day, knowing Shinsou got to you first."
"Oh," Izuku breathed out, unsure how to handle that confession.
A single clap made him jump and look over at Kaminari, who was smiling like the devil. "Great, kiss and makeup so I can get back to my game. Please," he added as an afterthought, already turning back to the TV.
"Well, we already made up," Sero said with a dramatic sigh, "guess we have to kiss now."
Izuku rolled his eyes with a teasing smile, pushing the other man's face away with his palm. "In your dreams, stoner boy."
Sero's eyes lit up, and a dopey grin took over his lips. "Oh, I got a nickname."
"I got a nickname weeks ago, catch up," Kaminari mumbled, already button-mashing on his controller.
"Yeah? Well, I got a kiss. Who's winning?" Sero snarked back, relaxing into the couch with a smug smile and a quick wink at Izuku.
Izuku just rolled his eyes at their antics, but his heart was nearly beating out of his chest. He couldn't figure out how these two guys liked him, let alone enough to fight over him.
Kaminari's face scrunched into a scowl as he hit pause on his game and threw his controller to the side. He turned to Sero with a challenging look in his eyes. "Ten bucks says I can kiss him right now."
Izuku balked.
Sero threw his head back with a laugh, offering his hand to the blond. "Bet." The two men shook on it before either of them even bothered to look in Izuku's direction.
"Do I get a say in any of this?" Izuku snapped, crossing his arms over his chest.
Kaminari sent him a dopey grin, readjusting himself so he was leaning back on the armrest of the couch. He patted his lap. "Of course you do, sweetheart. How about you come over here before you shoot me down without thinking it through?" he said with a raised brow.
Izuku's narrowed eyes looked from the blond's face to his lap and back up again. He wasn't impressed... yet.
"You're not gonna win this," Sero said with a smirk, looking between the two men with amusement clear in his dark eyes.
Kaminari rolled his eyes at his friend before beckoning Izuku over with one finger. "Just come here, Iz. I've already been on top of you; it's only fair if you get on top of me," he said with a half-shrug, mischief dancing across his face.
With a huff and faint blush, Izuku pushed himself off the couch and walked around Sero until he could climb onto Kaminari's lap, effectively straddling him on the couch. "I hate both of you," he said pointedly, glancing over his shoulder so he could glare at Sero before his stern look was locked on the smiling blond under him.
Kaminari's hands gripped his thighs just above his knees, slowly making their way up until they rested on his hips, giving him a slight tug forward. A soft gasp left Izuku's lips in surprise at the action, which only succeeded in making Kaminari chuckle and grip him tighter.
"Awe, come on. You don't mean that, do you, sweetheart?" he asked in a knowing tone.
Izuku would be lying if he said that the dip in Kaminari's voice didn't make his stomach do a cartwheel. He'd never admit it out loud, though. "Stop doing that," he said instead, trying to sound firm, but it fell flat as his eyes darted to follow the blond's tongue as it swiped at his bottom lip.
Kaminari quirked one brow up. "Stop what, sweetheart?"
Green eyes flashed up to meet gold, Izuku teetering on the edge of ruining a friendship (yet again). "You know exactly what you're doing," he mumbled, his voice losing its edge and coming out hushed.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Kaminari said with a knowing smirk, lying right through his teeth. His chin was tilted up, his neck straining. He was as close to Izuku as he could be, patiently waiting to see what the other man would do. Pull away or close the distance, it was all up to Izuku.
Izuku was so lost in the moment he didn't hear the front door open or the footsteps. He didn't know anyone else was home until a throat cleared at the entrance of the living room. It broke Izuku from his trance like a splash of cold water. He jumped back in a rush, ending up on Sero's lap and causing a pained groan to leave the dark-haired man at the impact. Realizing that position wasn't any better, he rushed to get away. He ended up sprawled on the carpet with wide eyes, looking up at a faintly amused Kirishima.
"Denki, my man," Kirishima said with a broad smile as he redirected his eyes from Izuku to the blond. "You're buying groceries this week, and I won't tell Kats you were feeling up his baby brother on his couch."
Kaminari threw his head back with a groan, his eyes clenched shut. "You're a dick and a cockblock, ya know that?"
Kirishima rolled his eyes at the other man's dramatics. "I'm sure you'll live," he drawled before turning his gaze back to Izuku. His arms were crossed over his chest as he leaned one shoulder against the doorframe. "I did warn you about them."
"I don't wanna talk about it," Izuku said, pushing himself to sit up and stare at the carpet in front of him. He couldn't meet anyone's eyes.
The redhead nodded with a small sigh. "Well, if you decide you do want to talk about it with someone who doesn't want to get in your pants, you know where to find me," he said as he pushed himself off the doorframe.
Izuku, who flirted as a defense mechanism, turned to face him with a small pout. "Wow, the hottest one wants nothing to do with me. What a blow to the ego."
Kirishima choked on air while Kaminari threw his head back with a howling laugh. Sero's lips had turned down into a frown, but Izuku didn't look behind him to catch it.
"I'm dating your brother," Kirishima said quickly, his face rapidly turning a very similar shade to his hair.
Izuku shrugged one shoulder, leaning back on his hands, and let his head lull back to stare at the ceiling. "Wouldn't be the first time Kacchan and I fucked the same guy."
"What?!"
"Excuse me?"
"Not at the same time!" Izuku added quickly. "I feel the need to clarify that I never had a threesome with Kacchan."
"What the actual fuck are you talking about, Deku?" Bakugou's disgust-laced voice called as he entered the living room, coming to a halt next to his shell-shocked boyfriend.
"Oh," Izuku said, his face falling as he made eye contact with the blond man. "I was hitting on your boyfriend, and then he was all like, 'I'm dating your brother,' so I was like, 'we've slept with the same guy before,' and they all freaked out, so I had to make sure they knew we didn't sleep with him at the same time," he explained casually.
Bakugou's narrowed red eyes turned to Sero on the couch. "Did you give him weed? Is he stoned right now?"
"Stone-cold sober, big bro," Izuku answered, taking some of the heat off Sero.
"Then what the hell are you talking about?" Bakugou snapped. Kirishima slipped an arm around his waist, and Izuku tilted his head as he watched his hot-headed brother take a deep breath at the contact. "We never slept with the same guy, Deku."
Izuku sat up straighter, crossing his legs under him and picking at his nails. "You remember Toji, right?"
"Fuck that guy," Bakugou spat instantly, venom filling his voice. Yeah, that fling wasn't a happy memory for the blond.
"Already did, Kacchan."
The room went quiet as Bakugou blinked a few times, his brain trying to process the words. After a moment and another squeeze from the redhead, he carefully said, "Deku, Toji was two years older than me."
Izuku nodded once, still finding his hands fascinating. "A whopping six years older than me. You'd be surprised how many guys don't care about that," he mumbled.
Bakugou ran his tongue over his teeth, one hand gripping Kirishima's arm. The redhead shot a look over Izuku's head at Kaminari and Sero.
The blond got the message instantly, hopping up to his feet and blowing a breath from his lips. "I'm gonna go play this in my room," he said quickly, pointing at the TV where his game was still queued up. "Hanta, buddy, let's go."
Sero didn't move, staring intently at the back of Izuku's head. When the younger man didn't look his way, he pushed himself off the couch. Once he was standing, he looked back down at him. "You gonna be okay, baby?" he asked in a soft voice.
"I'll be fine," Izuku answered curtly, not meeting his eyes. "We're gonna yell, but just ignore it."
"That doesn't make me feel better."
"We always yell," Izuku reassured, but it didn't have the intended effect.
Sero started out of the room, Kaminari at his heels, but stopped at the doorway. Bakugou was fuming while Kirishima held him in place with a frown. Sero looked between his two friends before his eyes stayed glued on Kirishima. "Keep him on a leash, please."
"Get the fuck out, Sero," Bakugou bit out. The lack of nickname didn't go unnoticed by anyone, sending a shiver down their spines. All but Izuku, that is.
He was expecting this when he'd opened his mouth. Of course, he hadn't meant for Bakugou to find out, but once he knew... well, Izuku pushed. He always did.
ruh roh raggie, this is gonna be a very emotional fight, buckle up friends.
