Fallen Kingdom
It was at least an hour before everyone stopped running.
"Did we lose them?!" Denki exclaimed, looking back in the direction where they had come from.
"I-I think so!..." Ochaco huffed, leaning over with her hands on her knees, panting, "I can't... go any farther! Need... a break..."
All the girls nodded in agreement with her.
"We can rest here for now," Shoto stated, "let's make a camp for now."
"What... what about my friend?" The purple haired girl asked, giving Izuku a suspicious glare. The green haired boy glanced at the black haired girl over his shoulder.
"She needs medical treatment," he said, "does anyone?-"
"I know some healing spells," Ochaco promised, "give her too me, Mina, Tsu, and I will treat her while you gather firewood and set up a camp." She went up to Izuku, and he slid the ravenette off of his shoulder, handing her to the mage.
"I'm not leaving her alone," the girl crossed her arms stubbornly, giving everyone suspicious looks.
"Seriously? We just save your asses, and you don't trust us?" Katsuki crossed his arms.
"I wouldn't trust you either," Shoto mumbled.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!"
"H-Hey now, don't fight you guys!" Izuku exclaimed, getting between them.
"What, you think I wouldn't notice the wings on the four dragons?" The violet girl asked, "and the thief's outfit on him?" She pointed to Izuku, "Oh, and the striking resemblance he has to the exiled prince?" She gestured to Shoto. Everyone blinked.
"You don't have to trust us-" Iida began.
"If you don't wish to stay with us, your free to leave when your friend is awake." Shoto stated, "However, for the time being you'll have to trust us at least a little bit."
She faltered.
"Stop arguing and go collect some firewood already!" Mina exclaimed, glaring at them. The boys quickly scattered, off to collect firewood.
Ochaco put her staff down, and laid the ravenette out on the grass. She picked up her staff and began to mumble, as Mina and Tsuyu initiated conversation with the stranger.
"So, what's your name?" Mina asked.
The girl sat down on the grass, watching as Ochaco worked her magic, "Jiro, Kyoka Jiro."
"Nice to meet ya Jiro!" Mina smiled, "I'm Mina! Mina Ashido!"
"My name's Tsuyu, Tsuyu Asui, but my friends call me Tsu," Tsuyu sat down on the other side of the unconscious ravenette.
"Archer?" Kyoka asked.
Tsu nodded.
Mina sat down at the ravenette's head, "Wow, she's pretty."
"Back off Dragon, she's taken." Kyoka glared at the pink dragon, then faltered, "or... was."
Everyone became silent.
"I'm finished," Ochaco stated finally, putting her staff down, "My name is Ochaco Uraraka by the way, it's nice to meet you!"
Kyoka huffed.
The ravenette groaned, her eyes flickering open.
"Momo!" Kyoka's eyes widened, and she leaned over her friend worriedly.
"Agh... K-Kyoka?... what..." The ravenette blinked, starting to sit up, "ugh... my head..."
"Oh thank god!" Kyoka exclaimed, pulling her friend into a tight hug.
"Ack- Kyoka! That was my rib..." the ravenette winced, scooting back.
"Ah, sorry!" Kyoka leaned back, "I'm so glad your okay."
"What happened?" The ravenette questioned, "and who...?" She looked questioningly at the others.
"Ah! These are Uraraka, Ashido, and Asui-"
"Call me Tsu," Tsuyu interrupted.
"Sorry, and Tsu. They are... part of the group that helped us..."
"What happened?... All I remember is... fire, everywhere, and then a shooting pain through my head..."
"One of the soldiers knocked you out," Kyoka explained, "I managed to hide us, but then you got stuck in a pile of rubble, And I couldn't get you out... These people helped me get you out..."
"We're back!" Izuku exclaimed happily, appearing once again with a small pile of firewood in his arms. Katsuki and Shoto followed behind him, both looking disgruntled. Tenya followed last.
A loud thump caught their attention, and they saw Eijiro land, and drop an entire dead bear on the ground. Denki and Hanta landed next to him, dropping their own catches, and then they all turned human.
"We caught dinner!" Eijiro exclaimed proudly.
"Bear! Hell yeah!" Mina cheered.
"Who?..." the ravenette asked.
"Ah, your awake," Shoto nodded at her.
"Tch, fucking great. More mouths to feed." Katsuki grumbled.
"Oh, you're okay!" Izuku smiled, "I'm glad you're awake!"
"I'm glad to see you're okay ma'am!" Tenya exclaimed.
"Oh, cool! Welcome back to the living!" Denki grinned cheekily.
"I... Thank you, my name is Momo Yaoyorozu." The ravenette stated, "and you all are?..."
Introductions were made, and they set up the camp fire.
"So, do you know what happened?..." Izuku asked quietly, "To your village, I mean..."
The two girls went quiet.
"Ah! I'm sorry, you don't have to answer-"
"No, it's fine Midoriya..." Momo sighed.
"We were attacked, to put it simply..." Kyoka said, "don't know by who, it happened in the middle of the night... we were awoken by the sound of people screaming."
"There was fire everywhere when we woke up..." Momo continued, "everything was burning, the guards were rushing out, a scattered mess...
"What the fuck is going on?!" Kyoka demanded, glaring at Momo's boyfriend.
"We're under attack!" Neito replied, "You two need to get out of here!"
"Kyoka, he's right, let's go!" Momo tugged on her friend's sleeve.
"What?! But-"
"Go!" Neito pushed them, and ran towards Itsuka, who was calling him.
Momo started running, and Kyoka reluctantly followed, as they ran towards the safe area.
"Kyoka watch out!" The ravenette yelled suddenly, tackling her friend to the ground and taking a hard hit to the head from a soldier.
"Momo!" Kyoka gasped, lifting the taller off of her, and glaring at the soldier. The enemy soldier had icy blue hair.
"Stay down," the man growled. His voice was raspy, and Kyoka growled right back.
"Fuck you!" She exclaimed, flipping him off, and then picking up Momo, starting to run.
The soldier gave chase.
"Hey!" Neito yelled, running after them. He engaged the soldier in battle. Kyoka paused to watch it.
"Jiro, run! Get Momo out of here!"
Kyoka stared at him, and nodded, starting to run.
"Neito..." Momo mumbled, looking up as Kyoka slung her friend over her shoulder and started running. A masculine scream from behind, and Momo's strangled sob was all Kyoka needed to start moving faster.
"He..." Momo gulped, and Kyoka hugged her.
"After that, I managed to hide somewhere, for the night. When morning came, the village was empty of life. Everything was burned, and there were bodies everywhere. That's when the skeletons started to show up..."
"That's horrible..." Ochaco mumbled.
Everyone said condolences, and apologies.
Izuku and Katsuki were both silent though. Not because they felt bad, because they didn't. They sympathized with them, sure, but they didn't feel bad.
No, they were silent because they were scared.
That night, neither could sleep.
"You awake still still?"
"Yeah... you can't sleep either?"
"Can't stop thinking about how those two described the attack. Seems too similar to be a coincidence."
"You're right... you don't think they're attacking again, are they?"
"What do you expect, those bastards are powerthirsty. More land means more power."
"What do we do then? There's no way we can convince the king to strengthen his defences or counterattack without solid proof that it was them, not us..."
"We go back to our land, and look there. If we can find something, anything, that can help us, it would be there."
"But... how would we convince the others?"
"Leave them behind."
"What?!" Izuku sat upright, shocked, "We can't just leave them behind! They're our friends!"
Katsuki sat up as well, and sighed, "Well do you have a better idea Deku? There's no fucking way we can convince them to come with us."
Izuku faltered. He didn't have a better idea.
"Alright..."
"When do you want to leave?"
"Tomorrow night?..."
"Alright. Now let's get some fucking sleep."
"Back to our fallen kingdom we go..."
They didn't realize someone was awake, and had heard the entire conversation.
