part 18

Trigger warning: abuse.
And I know Mark can't drink but in this fanfic he can

--

It had been two weeks since the incident had happened and it was safe to say that Jack was constantly on edge. Mark had become way more violent in those two weeks. Jack didn't think a day went by without him being slapped or insulted.

So why didn't he leave? Move back to Ireland where he was safe from the abusive boyfriend he now had.

We'll that answer is quite obvious. Because Jack still loves Mark with all his heart and always hoped that he would change his ways and become the sweet, caring Mark he once knew. That and the fact that Mark always apologized, told Jack he loved him and promised to never hit him again. Which was obviously a lie but Jack always thought, "maybe this time he means it."

"Can you hurry up with my beer! I feel like I'm gonna be 60 by the time you get here!" Mark yelled from the living room which made Jack jump out of his trance and back to work. He quickly grabbed a beer bottle from the fridge, making sure it was ice cold. Mark didn't like it when it was anything but freezing.

Jack scrambled over to the living room where Mark was lounging on the couch in front of the tv. Jack bent down to place the beer on the coffee table, making sure not to get in the way of the tv. He learned the hard way that that you shouldn't interuppt him when he's watching tv.

Jack squeaked when he received a hard slap on his ass, which followed by a low chuckle from Mark. The half Asian pulled the smaller onto his lap, gripping hard on his asscheeks that will definetaly leave bruises.

"You can't expect me to do nothing when you show me your ass like that~" Mark purred into his ear and Jack whimpered. He didn't think he could handle another BDSM session with this crazed lunatic.

"P-please sir... my h-hole is still recovering f-from last time," Jack mumbled, tears brimming his eyes. Mark just let out a low growl and shoved Jack off his lap. The Irishman fell to the ground with a loud yelp, his ass still very much in pain.

Mark stood up suddenly, looking more furious than Jack had ever seen him. It made the boy whimper and shrink in the shadow that loomed over him.
"I've left you alone for two weeks. Two god damn weeks Jack! You know how generous that is?! I've been suffering that long just because "you're not ready"!" The man's face was a deep shade of red and he almost looked like a rabid dog.

Mark's argument was grossly unfair, but Jack was smarter than to point that out. All he did was cower in fear as his body tensed in anticipation. He received a hard blow on the side of his rib cage, making him scream out in pain. It was definetaly broken.

Mark didn't stop his beating there. He kicked Jack's stomach and knocked all the air out of him. Jack curled up in a ball as blow after agonising blow came down on him.

Just when Jack thought he couldn't take anymore, Mark stopped, huffing and heaving. Jack peaked up at the older man, his vision blurry from the tears and pain he felt. Mark stared right back as the cloudiness in his eyes cleared and he realized what he had done.

Mark knelt down and went to hug him,"Jack... I'm so sorry baby I didn't mean to-" he was interrupted as Jack weakly shoved him away.
"Don't touch me!" What meant to be a hearty yell was something barely over a squeak.

"Who are you?! Cause you're definetaly not Mark!" Jack continued as tears fell down his chin and he slowly shuffled away from the taller. Mark's face paled slightly and he looked down, hiding the flash of panic in his eyes.

"I... I'm gonna go to the bar.." was all he said before swiftly standing up. He grabbed his wallet and keys and left the house. Left Jack once again alone to suffer in his pain.

Jack let out a small sigh, flinching as the action made more pain shoot through him. He lifted his shirt to look at his ribs and saw a huge bruise on his skin. Yep, broken. Jack tried standing but ended up falling to the ground again with a pained cry. He decided it was best to just lay there for a while.

"He gave you quite the beating, didn't he?" Jack heard a distorted voice from behind him. He shot his head back to see a person who looked almost exactly like him standing a few feet away. Jack rubbed his eyes with confusion but sure enough, the figure was still there. The pain must be getting to him.

The man chuckled softly, "you're not dreaming. And yes I look exactly like you." He began walking towards Jack but he quickly shuffled away, even if it did hurt like a bitch. He kneeled in front of Jack and held out his hand, "I'm Anti, your alter ego," he said with a grin and Jack raised a brow. He slowly took the demon's hand and shook it gently.

"U-um... what are you d-doing here?" Jack croaked and winced, finding it hurt the more he spoke.

"Well, I'm here to help you, and also heal you. Mark would have a panic attack if he saw you like this," Anti chuckled. Jack furrowed his brows in confusion.
"But Mark was just here... he's the one that did this.." his voice was down to a whisper now.

"As you may have noticed, that's certainly not Mark. His name is Dark, he's Mark's alter ego. The REAL Mark has been trapped down in the basement ever since you arrived."

Jack's eyes widened. So that's why Mark... or should he say Dark never let him down there. Part of him didn't believe this and just played this off as his imagination. But the stronger part of him knew that this was real. He tried standing up but Anti quickly sat him down again.

"Slow down there, let me heal you first then you can see your man," the demon chuckled and placed a hand over Jack's ribs.

In a matter of minutes, Jack was completely healed. He felt brand New, better than he's felt in two weeks. He looked up at the demon with a grateful smile and pulled him into a tight hug.

Anti froze as the arms wrapped around him, but soon chuckled and returned the hug. "Thank you," Jack whispered as he held his counter part tighter. Anti almost teared up but he just shook his head and smiled, "c'mon, non of that sappy stuff. Let's go free your man."

Jack was quick to jump up, wanting to go down and see Mark, the real Mark as soon as possible.

--

Mark had heard the argument loud and clear, and all he wanted to do was rip Dark's throat out. He felt every blow as if he was the one getting beaten. He just prayed that Anti would keep to his word and help them.

It had been over ten minuted and Mark was starting to lose hope, until the door slammed open and the sight of a familiar green haired Irishman came barreling downstairs.

Mark's eyes filled with tears as he saw Jack for the first time in what felt like years. If he weren't still chained up he would've brought the smaller into the tightest hug ever. But all he did was stare at him with a relieved smile, "Jack."

Jack was also crying as he saw Mark chained up like an animal. He ran towards the half Asian and wrapped his arms tightly around him, crying into his chest. All Mark could do was coo at him and rub his chin against the top of Jack's head to comfort him.

"M-mark... it's you... I'm s-so happy it's you," Jack sobbed into his chest and Mark smiled, letting a few tears fall as well.
"Oh Jack, I'm so glad you're ok, I thought it would be too late by the time we tried to save you," Mark whispered into his head.
"You're safe now, ok? Anti and I have a plan to make sure we never see Dark again."

Anti was leaning against the wall, smiling softly as he watched the two lovers reunite. He was quite jealous, that Dark would never be able to treat him like this.

Jack began sobbing louder at the words. He never thought he'd see the day where freedom was right in his grasp. He finally lifted his face from Mark's chest to look up at him with red, puffy eyes.

Jack held onto Mark's face and caressed his cheekbones before smashing their lips together. Mark let out a small gasp but quickly kissed Jack, getting quickly addicted to the lips he hasn't tasted in so long.

Jack pulled away after a long while and just gazed into the warm, chocolate brown eyes that he'd missed to see.
"I love you," he whispered and Mark began tearing up again, leaning forward to connect their foreheads, "I-"

Mark was interrupted when the front door unlocked and opened slowly. Everyone froze.
"Hey Jack I'm really so-" Dark stopped his sentence as he saw Jack wasn't in the living room and the basement door was open.

Steps slowly came forward to the door and Jack gulped in fear. Everything was quiet, making the steps sound ten times louder than they were. Everyone glanced at each other as the demon came closer and closer.

It was now or never.
