Part 11
Jack pov
Uuuuuuuuggghhhhhh... is all I could think when I wake up the next day. Dont get me wrong I wanna find all my memories as soon as possible but... I feel Soooooo siiiiiiick.
I was literally coughing and sneezing the whole night, im surprised Mark didn't wake up.
I try my best to suck it up and get out of bed, Mark looks so happy when we're memory hunting. And for some reason seeing him happy made me happy too. So I don't want something as stupid as a flu to ruin that.
As I got out of bed I immediately start shivering, how is it so cold? I decide to take the blanket with me as I go downstairs to make coffee.
"Morning," I hear a cheerful voice say as I enter the kitchen.
"Morning," I say in a very sickly tone with little effort put into my voice. Mark turns around and looks at me concerned.
"You look aweful, are you alright?" he asks walking up to me and pressing his palm on my forehead.
"Jesus your skin feels like the sun. You are in no condition to be out of bed right now."
"Oh C'mon its just a little cold, we can still go mem-"
"Oh no mister, your heading straight back to bed while I make you some soup," he speaks like a stern mother.
"Mark really I'm... f-fine," I stutter before starting to feel extremely dizzy. Is the room spinning or is that me? I start to fall backwards before completely passing out.
I wake up in my bed again with a damp cloth on my forehead. I try to sit up before I'm pushed down again by gentle hands.
"No no, stay down," Mark says in a hushed, calming voice. He picks up a tray with a bowl of soup that was on the dressing table. He sits down next to me and blows on a spoonful of soup before holding the spoon to my mouth.
"Your such a mom," I joke before eating the contents on the spoon. It tasted like really good chicken and vegetables.
"Well its a good thing I am, otherwise you'd be halfway to your death," he chuckles before feeding me another spoonful.
This whole process carries on until I've eaten all the soup, I lay back and sigh comfortably.
"Now you rest a bit while I go to the pharmacy and get some medicine," Mark says taking the tray.
"Hey Mark..."
"Hm?" He hums, pausing by the door and looking back at me.
"Thank you," I say and he gives me a warm smile that almost takes away my flu completely.
"Your welcome," he says before closing the door. I turn my body around, making sure the damp cloth wont fall from my forehead. I bundle myself up in the duvet and slowly drift to sleep.
Mark pov
The minute I saw Jack I knew that we couldn't go memory chasing today. His face was paler than it already is, if that's even possible, he looked exhausted. And don't think I didn't hear him coughing and sneezing the whole night. When he passed out I had to tuck him back in bed and made him soup for when he woke up.
I know I sound like a concerned mother but I don't care, wouldn't you do anything to make the one you love feel better?
I walked downstairs when he finished the soup and put the dishes in the sink. I grabbed my keys and wallet to go the the pharmacy before I was stopped by the house phone ringing.
"Hello?"
"Hi Mark, its Mrs McLaughlin. I just wanted to tell you that we got our plane tickets early and are coming tomorrow to pick Sean up." My heart stopped for a second and I almost forgot to answer.
"Oh that's good, thank you for telling me and I hope you have a safe flight."
"Thank you so much for taking care of him so far," she says gratefully.
"Eh don't worry about it, it was a pleasure to have Jack," I said through gritted teeth, trying to sound kind.
"Well we'll see you tomorrow, bye Mark."
"Bye," I put the phone down and stared at the wall for a good five minutes. They were only supposed to come at the end of the week. They're gonna take Jack away from me, he's gonna forget about me and I'll be all alone again.
"Not completely alone," I hear a voice behind me.
"Dark... we agreed that you'd stay away until Jack left," I said shakily, trying not to cry.
"I know, I'm just here to make sure you haven't forgot our little deal."
"I remember, leave Jack alone forever in exchange of doing whatever you want with me for the rest of my life," I bawl up my fists.
"Dont forget me," Anti says in his sickening distorted voice that sounded like an insult to Jack's beautiful voice.
"We'll see you tomorrow then Markimoo," Anti cackles and they both disappear. I crumble to the floor and start to cry, not because of Dark ans Anti no, I didn't care what they did to me. It was the fact that tomorrow was probably the last day I'd ever see Jack again.
I stayed on the ground for a while before getting up, wiping the tears away and walking out the door to go buy medicine.
I got back a half hour later with a small bag that had cough syrup, nose drops and some other things. I went into the kitchen and started to make some coffee, I'm sure Jack would appreciate that.
I walk upstairs with a coffee cup in one hand and the bag of medicine in the other.
I open the door to reveal Jack on his phone.
"Excuse me sir but did I not the tell you to rest," I scold jokingly.
"Hey I was sleeping, I only just woke up," he giggles before putting his phone down and sitting up. I sit on the bed next to him and lay out all the medicine.
I make him take all the drugs, some being syrups and some being pills that he swallowed down with his coffee.
"So there's been a bit change of plans and... you parents are coming to pick you up tomorrow," I tell him. He looks up in shock and sadness.
"I thought they were only coming at the end of the week."
"Yeah but they got their tickets early and they're flying in tomorrow," I give him sad smile.
"But... that means I wont be able to remember all the things that happened," he pouts.
"Im sure you'll be able to remember everything you did back in Ireland. It'll just be here that you wont remember," I try and swallow down the tears.
"But... I don't want to forget you," he starts to tear up which immediately makes me so the same.
"You wont... besides... you have my number so we can... keep in touch," small tears come falling down my face and so does his. He pulls me into a sudden hug.
"That wont be the same," he cries onto my shoulder, I pat his back comfortingly, trying my best to stay strong for him.
"We'll figure something out," I tell him. He hugs me tighter and I do the same, we stay like that for a while longer, in eachother's arms for one of the last times.
