| All I Wanna Do - T. Mills |
°°°
Monday morning, and you know what that means? The beginning of the first semester of college, oh and also college students piling in to get their usual coffee/breakfast. The perks of working at a small little Mexican restaurant, you get to meet some hot guys, and by hot, I mean it. These college guys have it all, the grand package. By package, I mean, they have some captivating eyes, smiles, muscles, facial expressions, but, yes there's always a but in everything.
Some of these guys can be real jackass'. Just like in the movie where Johnny Knoxville does some shit and ends up hurt or he just pisses off people, yeah these guys are kind of like a imitation of him and his crew. It's just, there are some guys that actually try and be friendly, like this guy that always comes here.
We always talk about the usual college life and about how he has this band. I mean, at first I didn't want to serve him, he was your typical jerk. The first day he came in here he threw his stuff in a booth and just sat there for a couple of minutes, since I was deciding on whether to go up to him and put on my best fake smile and take his order or make Cas go since he was a guy and wasn't scared shitless of what may happen if someone talked to the guy. Who knew, the guy could of yelled at me or worse, killed me with a napkin container.
Those things hurt, trust me, I know. Last time I got hurt with one was when Cas thought of some stupid game as always, to see who can brain who the fastest, unfortunately I ended up going to the hospital with a concussion. Then, Trev, my other co-worker had to take over my shifts while I recovered to a hundred percent and beat up Cas for what he did to me. Luckily our boss, Akasia, didn't know about the part where Trev and I mugged-well, beat up Cas for giving me a concussion with a napkin container.
So, I finally grew some balls and went up to the guy sitting at the booth, his face hidden in his hands that were propped up on his elbows on the table. I mentally cursed at Cas and his ways of convincing me to do things.
"Good morning, welcome to Cadena Restaurant, Café and Bar. How may I serve you?" I said politely, my fake employee smile visible on my face.
The guy didn't even move a muscle before cursing me out. "Piss off will ya? I don't want anything right now. Fuck."
My eyebrows raised and I turned to look at Cas who was behind the counter. I think he saw my jaw clench since he made hand movements indicating me to relax and not kill this jerk. I closed my eyes and turned back around to look at Mr. Jerk. He still hadn't moved from his spot.
Relax, Aria, just ask the guy again and see if he says something or just go back to the bar and make Cas attend him.
"Would you like something to eat? Drink? We have today's special which is-" I flinched when the guy slammed his fist on the table, cutting me off.
"I don't give a fuck about your damn specials for today, just let me be alone for awhile. Is that much to ask?" He looked up at me, his brown eyes burning into my soul. He let out a frustrated sigh before hiding his face again in his hands.
I rolled my eyes and walked back over to the bar where Cas was standing behind the counter next to the cash register. I dropped my notepad and tray on the counter.
"Fucking moody, I say, fucking moody." I sighed, leaning on the counter.
Cas chuckled. "I think he's chill." He leaned forward on the counter.
"Wha-where the hell do you find him chill? What the fuck is wrong with you? Did you get knocked up in the head or something? That jerk over there just cursed me out. How do you find that." I pointed discretely at the guy in the booth. "Chill?!"
This only caused him to laugh more. "Nothing is wrong with me. And I'm pretty sure you and Trev were the ones who beat me up back then. I saw your tattoo on your shoulder." He tapped the back of his shoulder, where my tattoo would be located. "Next time you two try to beat me up, try and put some make-up on that or cover it up instead of wearing a damn tank top."
I flipped him off as I look down at the counter. "Aw, look at you. You look so cute when your all mad." Cas said as he pinched my cheeks like I was a little kid.
I swatted his hands away. "I hate you." I said squinting my eyes at him.
"I love you too, wifey." He said, squinting his eyes back at me.
"Waiter!" A voice called. I turned around and saw the guy at the booth staring straight at me. "I need service."
"Look who decided to finally order." I whispered to Cas, which he only chuckled back as a response.
I took my tray and notepad with me as I walked up to his booth. "How may I serve you today?" I asked, trying to be as polite as I could.
"I'd like to have the carne asada sandwich and a vodka." He said looking up at me.
I wrote down his order in my notepad. "I'm sorry, but alcoholic beverages can only be served at the bar only." I said looking down at him, his dark hair looking soft.
"Alright. I'll go sit over there then." He simply said as he took his stuff and made his way over to the bar.
I rolled my eyes and went behind the counter, walking up next to Cas. "Your turn, hot shot." I whispered in his ear as he walked by. I went straight to the kitchen where Heriberto was at to give him the order. I came back out and saw Cas and the guy casually talking at the bar, I mentally faced palmed myself.
Fuck you, Cas.
I stood near the kitchen waiting for Heriberto to be finish making the food. It took a near five minutes until Heriberto yelled out that the food was ready, while I stood listening to these two whackjobs laugh about some stupid shit.
"Thanks, Beto." I said as I took the plate and set it on my tray.
"De nada, mija." He said with a wink.
I rolled my eyes at him and carried my tray with the food on it, walking towards Cas and the guy at the bar. "Here's your carne asada sandwich. Enjoy." I placed the plate of food in front of the guy.
Before I could walk away he caught my wrist. "Wait." He said. I turned back around to look at the guy. "I'm sorry for being a real jerk to you. I was having a bad day. I'm sorry." I raised my eyebrows as he let go of my wrist.
"It's cool, I mean I was planning on putting hot sauce on your sandwich when you weren't looking." I shrugged.
"Aria!" Cas scolded. "She was just joking. Weren't you, Aria?" Cas glared at me.
I rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms over my chest. "Sure I was."
The guy just eyed me and his sandwich. "Well, my name is Calum. Nice to meet you." He extended his hand out.
"Sup." I took his hand in mine and shook it.
"So, Cas, is it cool if my band can have meetings here? We could do some shows here if you'd like?" Calum said taking a bit of his sandwich.
His band? He's in a band? Well that's a shocker.
"Sure, you guys can come in whenever. And for the gig I'll have to tell my boss about that since we don't have a stage." Cas leaned on the counter.
"You're in a band?" I blurted out.
Calum smirked. "Yes, I am."
"What type?"
"Punk Rock." He simply said.
I snorted. "You look more like a punk than rock. The Rock Johnson would disapprove of your ways."
"Aria!" Cas smacked my arm.
"I like your shit." He kept eating.
"So, what do you play in that so called band of yours?" I asked changing the subject
"Bass." He stated, taking a sip from his shot glass.
"Cool."
"Yeah, well I got to go now, I have practice in a few. Maybe you guys should come down and watch us rock your socks out someday." He wiped his lips with a napkin and stood up picking up his stuff.
"Maybe." I said lowly.
"Sure!" Cas answered at the same time as I.
Damn you, Cas.
"Okay, well see ya." Calum waved us off as he left the restaurant.
I turned to Cas and smacked him on his arm. "I hate you so much." I leaned on the counter and placed my face in my hands.
"You so love me." Cas whispered in my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I turned around and smacked him in the arm again until he let go and walked off laughing.
From that day on, Calum had started to come in a lot. He always came in to eat, drink, and even try to flirt with me at times. He kept trying to convince me to go to one of his so called band practices, which I always came up with an excuse or just simply told him no.
I swear this boy is as stubborn as a mule.
