Epilogue
FINAL CHAPTER!
Narrator
The Bieber-McCann family stood as they looked at the freshly buried dirt. A head stone engraved with bold letters.
It was a cloudy day, the clouds covering the sun making the day darker and sadder.
Tears fell down the families' cheeks. One of them shaking their heads, the eldest child. Jake
It was all his fault. Why didn't he just listen? He's gone.
His father noticed and wrapped his arm around his shoulder.
"It's okay baby, it's not your fault. He's in a better place now," He whispered as Jake leaned into his side.
"No, it is," He cried. He was gone because of him.
"Baby, Zeus is in a better place, he's not in pain anymore," His father said.
"Can.. can I have some time alone?" He asked.
"Of course, babe,"
"Come on kiddos, let's go," His father said gathering the family.
"Do you wreckon he'll be alright?" The father asked.
"Of course, he will sweetheart, he'll bounce back though I knowing Jake, it will just take a little bit longer, I mean it was his best friend,"
"Yeah, you're right, Jase,"
"I'm always right, Jay," Jason smirked.
They turned around and looked at their son as he took a seat on the ground.
"Daddy, Jakey awight?" A small voice asked, someone tugging on Justin's pants.
They looked down. "Jacky baby, of course he'll be alright but if you give him one of your cuddles, he'll be more than alright,"
The little boys' eyes widened. "Rwealy?"
The father nodded. "Look, he's coming, why don't you try it?" He asked setting the boy down.
The three year old nodded and smiled, showing the gaps of his missing teeth.
"Jakey!! I make you awight!!" He shouted before running over to his brother.
Jake picked him up and smiled. "Aww, I feel better already," He said making the young boy grin and hug him tighter.
The family made their way to the car as Jake trailed behind. He looked one last time before smiling. The sun was now shining over the burial.
He'll be alright..
"Daddy? We get ice-cweam?" The youngest one asked in his car seat.
"Why should we get ice-cream baby?" Justin asked smiling. He already was going to say yes.
"Becawse ice-cweam makes me feel better, so it make everywon better," He lisped.
The fathers smiled.
"Hmm, good idea cupcake," Justin smiled.
The little boy cheered as everyone looked at him smiling. He was always full of joy and laughter.
Never a day he was sad.
-----------------------
"Hey son, how's the work going?" Justin asked as he walked into Jake's room.
It was Jake's birthday today and there was a party downstairs but Jake decided to come up for a bit.
"Okay, just a bit tired today," The boy sighed his glasses falling down his nose.
"Babe, if you need a rest, you can," Justin advised.
The boy continued typing on his laptop. It's been 3 years and he still feels uncomfortable with his father alone.
"What's wrong, bub?" He asked.
"Nothing dad," Jake mumbled.
Justin walked over and got him to get up. He just hugged him surprising Jake.
"I know something's wrong," Justin whispered. He knew it something other than his work was wrong.
"I don't dad, you know been 4 years since.." He trailed.
Suddenly Justin knew what was wrong.
"Jake.. you know it was 4 years ago, it's okay, I'm still aren't I? Jack's here," He said looking into his son's eyes.
"I know but..what if you didn't make it? Or Jack? We wouldn't have his happy caring self. What if you lost your memory for long term? What if-"
"No babe, no what ifs," Justin said shaking his head.
"It was all my fault," Jake whispered looking down. It may be four years ago but it's still fresh in his mind.
"Darling, no it's not, never have been, never will be," He said lifting up Jake's chin.
"It was,"
"No, it wasn't. Babe, please stop blaming yourself," He pleaded.
"I can't, it was my fault, it will never leave my mind," He stressed.
"No, no, please don't," Justin said.
"Why don't you just lay down for a bit huh? I'll even lay with you, just like old times yeah?" Justin asked smiling.
Jake smiled. "Just like old times,"
He laid down and Justin wrapped his tattooed arms around him.
"I love you, you know that right?" Justin asked.
"Yeah, I love you too, Daddy," He smiled.
"Always love you," His father whispered.
"Always,"
-----------------------------
Jason's phone rang throughout the fairly quiet house.
He rushed down and grabbed it.
"Hello?"
"Jason! How are you?"
Jason furrowed his eyes and sat down. Why was his cousin calling him?
"Good good, you?"
"Oh same old same old," The man chuckled.
"Now straight down to business, that guy who hit Justin, we found him, but he's on the run, we seen he's been staying in one spot for a while. He must think we've stopped looking," He explained.
"Who is he?" Jason asked as he looked into the living room to see the kids watching a movie before walking back into the kitchen.
"Lucas Perry,"
Jason's eyes widened remembering the name.
"What the fuck does he want?!" Jason whisper shouting trying to not alarm the kids.
"I don't know but he wants something, he's back on the grid Jase,"
Jason panicked.
"Dakota please tell me this is not true," Jason begged.
"Sorry Jase, I can't,"
"I fucking left the gang to move on and live this life, I'm fucking married with kids, I can't come back," He stressed.
"Look, I'll do whatever I can and I'll keep you update, but if worse happens I'm calling you. I know you're still good," Dakota said.
"Kota, I can't do this, I have a family," He sighed.
"And so do I,"
"Alright just keep me updated, you better make sure you have your people look out on my family," He said.
"Of course, only the the best for you,"
"Okay goodbye cousin,"
"Goodbye Jason," He said before hanging up.
He placed his phone down on the bench and sighed leaning against the counter.
He looked out the window and sighed. I thought I got away from that, he thought.
Soon arms around him.
"What's wrong darling?" Justin asked.
"Dakota just called," He sighed.
"What did he want?" Justin asked.
"Just..I'll tell you later," He mumbled hiding his face into Justin's neck.
"How was the meeting?" He asked.
"Long," Justin groaned.
"Well the kids are watching a movie, why do't we join them?" Jason suggested.
Justin nodded smiling. He loved hanging with the kids.
"Daddy! Papa!" Their youngest shouted with a grin and bright eyes.
"Baby, how are you? Were you good for Papa?" Justin asked sitting beside Jake.
"Yeah, always good for Papa and I good Daddy," He smiled, his bright blue eyes sparkling.
"That's good, why don't we watch the rest of the movie?" Justin said.
The boy nodded and settled himself between him and his brother.
Jade got up and sat beside Jason placing her feet on top of his lap.
"Papa," She smiled. "Babygirl," He smiled back wrapping his arm around her and kissed her forehead.
Soon everyone was watching the movie, there was all around love and laughter.
Jason looked around and smiled. He really loved these moments.
