Conspiracies-chapter 2 (J.G.)
After Botany my next class took me a few halls over to English. I started to understand that almost all the classes were mixed with upperclassmen for some reason. As I walked in I saw an old lady like have you ever seen a wrinkly raisin that seemed so wrinkly? Well put it in glasses and a grey wig and that's what this teacher looked like. She looked so raisiny wrinkly. There were a bunch of circle tables in the room so I sat a bit to the left of the class next to a window and started to stare out as the bell rung and children flooded into the class pushing one another. I saw the green eye boy walking nervously next to a slightly taller girl with amber colored eyes, brown hair that was done up in a bun, and kinda white dark skin. She had on oval glass with a thin frame. Her and the boy found seats at the table next to me. "Hey." I say giving them a sup nod.
"H-h-hi." The boy said as he gave a nervous smile while fidgeting his hands. The girl didn't seem to hear me as she had pulled out a black notebook labeled Apocalypse Archive. I waved my hand a bit to grab her attention.
"Huh oh sorry, hi." She said a bit uninterested as she wrote vigorously in her book.
"Alright class this is English." The wrinkly raisin woman said with a kind voice. "Now before we get to the actual class I'm your teacher Lily Victorian and now I'm going to take role call. Ash Kelton?" The girl next to me raised her hand without looking up. "Alright." She called a few more names as I started to zone out. "Jess Gabriel?" I said huh as she nodded. "And finally Dean Oslander?" The green eye boy raised his hand slowly. "Alright class now we'll be doing just a basic game where we get to know everyone. So by the end of the hour I would like you to have learned 3 things from the people at your table. Now go." Ash closed her book and looked at me.
"I'm Ash, I want to be a journalist, I like AC/DC, and my favorite colors silver." She said without missing a beat and went back to her book as if she was studying.
"Alright." I turned to Dean who kept looking around as if trying to find a way out. "So I'm Jess. I want to be an artist, I love Green Day, and I am a gamer at the moment." I say to him as he nodded.
"Dean. I just moved here from America. I like modern music. I like to do conspiracy theories." I heard the sound of writing silence.
"What kinda Conspiracy theories?" Ash asked.
"Oh anything." Dean said as I looked between the 2.
"Even biblical theories?" She asked hopefully. He nodded as Ash smiled then looked at me. "Do you do conspiracy theories?"
"I look at them every now and then and I'm interested." I say with a shrug.
"Well I happen to be working on my own conspiracy right now." Ash said proudly as she showed the Apocalypse Archive book.
"What about?" I asked intrigued.
"That some of the wealthiest families on Earth, who all have descents located in Britain at this very moment, are the 4 horsemen." She said leaning forward as Dean and I did the same.
"What? Who are the families?" Dean asked as Ash showed the first page of her book.
"The 4 families are the Mortems, the Bellums, the Blights, and the Dicta Fames." I explained. "But how did you come to that conclusion?"
"Well 3 of the names are Latin. 1 is a name of a previous plague. All are related. All 4 have a tie to history." Ash said as she turned the page to some tree filled with names. "They are also doing everything in their power to do good in the world."
"What do the Latin names mean?" I asked.
"Well the Dicta Fames is Famine. Bellum is war, and Mortem means death." Ash explained as the teacher came over.
"Having fun over here?" Ms. Victorian asked. "What did you learn about Mr. Oslander?"
"Oh he just moved here, he prefers modern music, and that he likes theories." I say as she smiled.
"Good now go ahead and go back to your topic." She then walked away.
"Weird." Dean muttered.
"Yeah but the weirdest thing concerning these families are there have never been any recorded marriages, birth records, or funerals except 1 but I can't get anything on it. Yet here they are today. All going to this school." Ash said.
"And you know this how?" I asked.
"My parents are kinda important and let's leave it at that." She waved off.
"This is really cool but I have a question." Dean said holding up a hand as if a his nervousness had just disappeared. "If these families are-" he started asking before the bell rung interrupting him. "I'll ask later." With that we got up and walked out of the room. I was the last one out and ran into someone falling back on my rear.
"Watch where you're going." A gruff girl voice said as a dark red skinned girl glared down at me.
"Sorry." I say scared. The girl huffed and walked off. I was about to get up but saw a familiar pale hand in my face. I say Percy holding her plant with a smile.
"Sorry about Grace she has a bit of anger issues." Percy giggled as I was pulled up.
"Oh it's fine. Thanks. So you're part of the Blight family?" I asked as she looked away.
"Yes." She sighed. "If you don't want to talk to me I understand."
"Nah it's fine." I smile. "So shall we go to our next class?"
The day ended after my 2 other classes and the students were released from the school. I had hung out with Percy on the way out and I learned that she didn't really like being part of her family and that she can only tolerate being here because of her cousins. I wanted to walk home with her but a honk interrupted us. I looked over and saw a black Impala there filled with Grace, a boy in a lab coat that had long brown hair in a ponytail and mainly white slightly greenish skin looking away, and the death kid looking at us emotionless.
"COME ON PERCY!" Grace yelled. "FESTER WANTS TO GO HOME!" She pointed at the boy in the lab coat.
"Oh sorry Jess," she sighed, "I have to get going. Maybe next time?" I nodded as she giggled. "Yay. See you tomorrow." She then skipped off to the car and got in the back with Fester. My gaze found itself on the kid in front driving and i saw his silvery blue piercing gaze stare right back at me before it slowly turned forward and the 4 drove off. I shivered and started to walk home loosening my tie. My house was only a 15 minute walk from the school in the town. The walk was chilling since it was autumn and the trees along the road were loosing all of their brown crunchy leafs. I sighed as I got home and opened the door.
"Well today was interesting."
