Part 3 - Alex
"So," Mom says shoveling pancakes into her mouth, "you guys gonna stay and help me bake?"
"Of course, we are," I say, eating the last of my bacon.
"So, have you decided on any colleges yet Cas?" Dad asked, picking up his plate to put in the sink.
"No," he says sighing, "but I was hoping Alex and I could go and look at local places tomorrow,"
"Sure, and you don't have to decide right away. You have plenty of time to figure it out," Mom says with a smile. He was supposed to be able to do whatever he wanted and he will.
"Who knows, maybe Alex will decide to follow in my footsteps," Cas says nudging my arm.
"No way little brother, I did my time in high school. Going to college would be like High School 2.0,"
"And that's a bad thing?"
"Yes. Homework, quizzes, and finals? No thanks," About a year after Cas died, I started studying with Dr. Jo about the possibilities of time travel. So, I kinda actually went back to school, just without the boring stuff.
The rest of the day is spent baking. Cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, Mom wanted a variety of things to enter so she could cover all the categories. By the time we were done, Dad had come home announcing that they won the game only to catch us mid-flour war we started while we were trying to clean up. He ended up becoming our target and got covered in more flour than we were. We all helped with the cleanup, ordered pizza, then went to bed.
Tomorrow is when Cas dies.
