Summary : Louis notices something is wrong with Mint , so he calls the veterinarian .

Louis pouted when he opened Mint's cell , seeing her laying on her bedding even when she saw him walking in .

"Hi pup ." He sat on his knees in front of her , "Are you not feeling good today ?" He pet her gently and sighed , "I'll go get your food over here ." He kissed her head and left the cell , closing the door behind him .

Liam looked up when he saw Louis , raising his eyebrows , "Where's Mint ?"

"She's not feeling too good , I'm getting the food for her ." Louis grabbed one of the bowls Liam filled , then went to take one of the empty bowls to fill with water .

"Oh ? What happened ?" Liam followed Louis to the tap .

"She's usually up and jumping when I unlock the cell , and when I walked in she was just laying there . She looked sad ." Louis filled her water bowl , "I'll be right back ."

Louis walked into the cell , smiling when he saw Mint wagging her tail a bit from her spot laying on her bedding . "Got your food for you , pup ." He placed the bowls in front of her and sat down with his legs crossed , petting her as she ate .

It was a few days later , Mint looked like she was feeling much better . Louis watched as the dogs played around in their mini dog park in a closed area outside their pavilion in the office building . 

"Mint , what's in your mouth ?" He walked over to her , as she was sitting on the ground holding a branch with her paws and chewing on it . Louis grabbed the branch , "Drop it ." He frowned when Mint growled at him , when Apollo ran up to them barking .

"Drop it ." Louis told Mint again as he stood above her , taking the branch from her when she released it . He frowned , "What is up with you , pup ?" He mumbled as he walked away , glancing back to see Apollo sniffing her face and ears .

Liam and Harry walked over , as they watched from afar . Harry put his arm around Louis , "What happened ?"

"Mint has been acting weird this week ." Louis frowned , "At first she looked like she was unwell , next thing she was jumping around . She's inhaling her food as if we don't feed her . She's been peeing in her cell - Hazzie that never happened before , she's well trained not to do that . Now she's growling at me , I really think something is wrong ."

"Want me to call the vet ? Make an appointment for her ?" Liam asked , "She could be ill , or in pain ."

Louis nodded , "Please . The first appointment free , I don't want to wait ."

Harry kissed his head , "I'm sure she's fine baby , don't stress over it ."

The day after Louis took Mint out of her cell with a leash on , and helped her into the back of  Harry's car , getting in with her , while Harry drove and Liam sat next to him . He let Mint rest her head on his lap , petting her gently to soothe her .

"Baby ."

Louis looked up when Harry spoke up , they looked at each other through the rearview mirror .

"She's going to be okay , we'll make sure of it . Whatever it is ." He assured him , Liam turned to face him and gave him a comforting smile , "I'm sure it's nothing to worry about ."

They reached the vet , Louis held Mint's leash tightly as they walked into the place . He walked right over to the receptionist , "Hi , we have an appointment , Louis Tomlinson ."

The woman nodded , "That you do , our vet will be here shortly ."

Louis thanked her and turned to go to the waiting area , when the vet walked over from down the hall and called his name .

The three followed him , Harry kept a comforting hand on the small of his back .

They walked into one of the examination rooms , Harry helped Mint onto the table and moved a bit aside to let Louis stand close to her .

"Who do we have with us today ?" The vet asked as he placed down his clipboard .

"This is Mint . She's an albino Doberman , she's about three years old ." Louis hugged her and kissed the top of her head , "She's been acting a bit weird these past two weeks and I'm worried something is wrong with her ."

"Weird how ?" The vet asked , Louis bit his lower lip , "She's eating a lot and pretty fast , she's kind of moody - one moment she's happy and the next she's growling at me . She's - she's been peeing a lot in her cell , and she never does that - she's trained , she's a guard dog ."

The vet nodded in understatement . "Alright . Has she been whining ? Sounded like she was in pain ?"

"Ehm , I - I don't think so . She's whined a bit but I don't know if she was in pain or not ." Louis frowned ; what if she was in pain and he didn't notice ?

"No need to worry , I have my suspicion already . I'm going to need to take her blood first ."

Louis bit his lower lip , he kissed Mint's head and let Liam stay with her ; he could never watch when the dogs got their blood taken . Harry held him , giving him a squeeze when he flinched at Mint's pained cry when the needle went into her leg .

"Done ." The vet wrapped her leg up and put the tube away , Louis hurried over to her and kissed her head and the bridge of her nose to comfort her further . He watched as the vet examined her , eyes widening in surprise when she growled at the vet touching her lower stomach .

"Oh no . Is she in pain ?" Louis' frown deepened .

"No , not in pain ." The vet shook his head , "Follow me , please ."

Harry took Mint off the table , they followed the vet into one of the rooms down the hallway . Harry helped Mint onto the table , laying her on her side .

"Please please tell me there's nothing to worry about ." Louis comforted Mint , eyes on the machine the vet was getting ready .

"There's absolutely nothing to worry about , Mr. Tomlinson ." The vet shook his head .

"Baby ." Harry put his arm around Louis , "Look at the machine ."

"I am , Harry , what are you on ?" Louis looked at the machine still .

"Do you still not understand ?" Harry raised his eyebrows .

Louis frowned and looked over the machine . Then it clicked .

He gasped loudly , making the three men in the room chuckle in amusement . Louis turned to Mint , "Oh my god , pup , you're going to be a mummy ." He kissed her over and over , hugging her as he grinned . He then gapsed again , "That's why Apollo was so clingy with you -- ohhh everything makes so much more sense now ."

"So yes , our beautiful Mint is very possibly pregnant ." The vet nodded as he spread a bit of gell on Mint's lower stomach , "We'll know for sure with the blood test ." He moved the wand around her stomach , "The pups aren't too noticable right now , as it's still early , but I'd give it three more weeks before they'll be seen ."

Harry smiled as he walked into Mint's cell , seeing Louis , Mint and Apollo all sat on the floor cuddled up .

"They're going to be the best parents ." Louis smiled , watching Apollo licking Mint's face .

Harry sat on the floor next to him and lifted his arm up to wrap around him , Louis leaned into his side , "I'm curious to know the colours of the puppies . Mint is albino , Apollo is brown . Do you think they'll have more brown puppies or more albino puppies ? -- How many puppies will she have ?"

"So many questions , baby . I wish I could answer ." Harry rubbed his side , "We'll just have to wait and see ."

"I'm already impatient ." Louis pouted a bit , "I'm so happy it's nothing bad ."

Harry kissed his head , "You do realize you're going to have a new puppy litter to train in a few months ?" He smiled when Louis grinned , "I know , I'm so excited . Can't wait for them to be here ."
