Harry opened the backseat door for Louis , smiling as Louis kissed him on the cheek before sliding into the seat . He sat next to him and closed the door , Louis took his hand and laced their fingers together , "I'm excited ."

Harry brought Louis' hand up to his lips and kissed the back of it , "I'll be showing you off all night long , I hope you're ready for that ."

"I'll be showing you off , mister ." Louis poked his dimple , "If I'm this nervous for tonight then I'm afraid I'll pass out on our wedding day ."

The driver took them to the hall in the city , where the engagement party was held . It was divided into two sections ; one for their friends and people they were close with , and the other section for the important people in the city who were parts of their lives .

They arrived and were escorted inside by Harry's guards , Harry had Louis' hand laced with his . They walked into the hall and were greeted by happy claps and whistles , Louis grinned and hid his shyness by pressing his face to Harry's bicep .

Harry looked down to Louis as Louis pulled his face from his bicep and looked up at him , he wrapped one arm tightly around Louis' waist while his other hand cupped his face , and kissed him deeply in front of everyone .

Louis' heart stuttered in his chest as he kissed Harry back , his put his hand to Harry's face as his other hand dug into his back .

They pulled back , had given everyone enough time to take pictures and videos of them , and walked to the private section , where their close ones were .

Louis grinned at Niall as he gave him a tight hug , "So good to see you here ."

"Wouldn't miss it for the world ." Niall kissed the side of his head , they pulled back and Louis greeted Amelia with a hug and a peck on the cheek .

Harry chuckled a bit as Zayn and Liam caught him in a group hug , they patted him on the back and squeezed his shoulders .

"Can you believe it , you found your person ." Zayn grinned as they pulled back , he squeezed Harry's shoulder , "Happy for you , mate ."

"You can go on and tease us all you want , just for tonight ." Harry shook his head as he glanced at Louis , who was talking to Paul and his wife , showing the wife his engagement ring with a big grin on his lips .

"Oh , we definitely will ." Liam nodded with a smile .

"Don't make me shoot any of you tonight ." Harry said pointedly and turned to greet the other guests aswell .

He smiled when Niall and Amelia walked up to him and greeted him with handshakes and shoulder pats . He went to greet Paul aswell , turning his head to Louis when he heard him giggling , only to see him being cuddled by Liam and Zayn .

Louis grinned as he sat with Victor and Laura , two of their kids could make it aswell . He turned his head when the chair next to him was pulled out , and smiled when he saw Harry sitting next to him .

"Hi there ." Louis leaned in and kissed his cheek , "These are Lena and Brad Bennet , Victor's and Laura's kids ." Louis introduced them as he took Harry's hand into both his small ones .

Harry nodded at them once , "Brad and I went to high school together ."

"Yeah , you're a year older than me ." Brad nodded .

"What was Harry like in school ?" Louis asked as he leaned closer .

Brad chuckled a bit , "Everyone liked him , obviously . He didn't have too many close friends from what I remember . Some students were scared of him , because he joined his father in fighting for the city . He was respected , and like , everyone looked up to him ."

Louis grinned as he squeezed Harry's hand , "Not a lot changed , has it ?"

"Except for some scars here and there ." Harry said , smiling as Louis rolled his eyes at him .

He took Louis' hand and kissed the back of it , "Let's go give our speech ." He stood up from his seat and pulled Louis along .

"Our what , now ?" Louis let himself get pulled along , "I didn't know I'd be giving a speech aswell ."

"Doesn't have to be anything big , baby , but I'd like for us to say a couple words to everyone who's here with us tonight ." Harry took Louis with him to the little stage , they were given a microphone and walked onto the stage .

Louis held Harry's arm as they stood on the stage , Harry was the first to talk .

"Good evening everyone . I appreciate everyone who's here with us tonight . --"

"Just say 'thank you' , Hazzie ." Louis told him quietly , though didn't know he was heard faintly through the mic , only when the crowd laughed a bit at them and made him blush .

Harry smiled a bit , "Thank you all for being here --"

"Ayyeee !" Niall , Zayn and Liam cheered with their glasses up in the air , laughing along with the crowd . Harry looked at them in annoyance , though smiled as Louis laughed along .

He cleared his throat into the mic to catch everyone's attention again . "I want to take a moment to honour my family - my father Robin , my mother Anne , and my sister Gemma . I would give my everything to have them with us on a night like tonight . There's nothing I wish for more , than for my family to have met Louis , and for Louis to have met them . I find comfort in knowing they are watching over us , wherever we are ."

Louis rubbed Harry's back as he talked , Harry turned to look down at Louis and smiled , pressing a kiss to Louis' forehead as he handed him the microphone .

The crowd awwed quietly at the interaction , Louis smiled widely with blush on his cheeks , Harry rolled his eyes , "Shut the fuck up ." He said , close enough to be heard over the mic and make people laugh a bit .

Louis felt his insides squirming under everyone's attention , he subconsciously pressed against Harry's side , "Th-Thank you to everyone who's here , we both really appreciate it . Thank you to our friends who became our family , and thank you to everyone who's part of this city . Thank you ." Louis handed Harry the mic , Harry took the mic and they walked off the stage .

The couple sat down to eat , sitting at the table with Zayn , Liam , Niall and Amelia . They clinked their glasses of wine together in Cheers , eating and making conversation .

Harry took Louis with him to the second section to greet the guests , they were excorted by Harley and Scott through the tables , making quick conversations .

The party slowly died , only their very close ones were left . Louis was a bit tipsy and moved to sit in Harry's lap as they ate dessert , Louis ate most of the cake and fed Harry a bite every once in a while .

Louis listened closely as Paul told him a story about Harry from when he was younger , he wrapped his arms around Harry's neck and kissed his cheek , "I love when people tell me about you ."

Harry held Louis tighter , "Tell me stories about you aswell ."

Louis took a few moments to think . "When I was little , I used to think that the Christmas lights were put up especially for my birthday ."

"Adorable ." Harry smiled , "Tell me another one ."

Louis traced his cheek , where his scar was , "I used to sit in the stroller and greet people passing by with 'hello' and a wave ."

Harry smiled wider , he leaned in to kiss Louis' lips , "Once cute , always cute ."

Louis squished Harry's cheeks , "You're cute to me too , future hubby ."

"Hubby ?" 

"Yeah , you're my future hubby ." Louis nodded and pressed a kiss to his squished lips .

Harry smiled , "Can't wait to be your 'hubby' ."

Louis grinned and kissed him again , "I love you ."

"I love you baby ."
