Summary : One of the dogs gets hurt while protecting Louis .

Harry watched as Louis put harnesses on Odin , Rocco , Apollo and Chess . "Are you stopping to see Niall too ?"

"He's not working today ." Louis pouted a bit , "Maybe I'll stop at that ice cream parlor instead ."

"I thought ice cream made you sleepy ." Harry smirked a bit .

"It does , so I'll probably come back here for a nap in the secret room ." Louis smiled a bit and stood up , "I'll text you ."

Harry pulled him closer and kissed him , "The guards know you're out , too , anything you need they're there for you ."

"Thank you ." Louis kissed him quickly and pulled back from his arms , turning to the dogs , "Let's go , pups ."

Louis walked with the dogs down the streets , they crossed roads and walked past people . No one dared to get closer - the dogs were very intimidating , not to mention that  no one dared to mess with Louis .

They reached the park , Louis let the dogs run around a little bit . He smiled when Chess brought a stick , he took it from his mouth and threw it away , watching the four dogs chasing it .

He moved to stand in the shade of a tree , filming a video of the dogs running around and sending it to Harry , then to Niall aswell .

He looked up at the dogs , seeing that Rocco was looking over at him , but he was tense and his tail was held straight . Louis knew that position well enough to know that Rocco was sensing trouble .

He tensed when he felt precense behind him and a small pressure against his back . "Don't move ."

His whole body was frozen as he stared forward , trying not to draw the dogs' attention - he didn't want them close to anyone with a weapon .

"What do you want ." Louis asked , not helping his voice trembling .

"Styles thinks he's some hero saving the city . We don't need saving ." The man behind him said , "He went into our building and killed us one by one ."

"If he killed your people , then he had a reason ." Louis found himself saying , though quickly stopped when the man pressed the gun even more against his back .

"Shut the fuck up . He took down my people - now I'm taking down his . Starting with you --"

The man barely finished talking when Rocco jumped him and latched his teeth into his arm holding the gun , knocking him down from the force of the jump . The man fell to the ground and dropped his gun , crying in pain .

Louis let out a breath of relief and took two steps away , only to watch in horror as the man pulled a knife out of his belt and stabbed Rocco , twice .

"No !!" Louis cried out in panic as Rocco growled in pain and moved away from the man , falling to the side . He kneeled at his side with tears filling his eyes , crying at the blood that stained Rocco's fur . His chest was tightly painful at the sounds of Rocco being in so much pain , he held him in his arms as he called Harry .

"Hey b --"

"Harry -- Harry I need someone here right n-now - Rocco was s-stabbed ." Louis cried , "H-He --"

Louis stopped when he heard the man crying out , Odin had his teeth at the man's neck . He shook his head violently and growled , snapping the man's neck until he was unresponsive .

"Louis answer me ! Louis !"

Louis was brought back by Harry calling his name on the phone , he sniffled , "W-We're at the park , I -- this man , h-he -- he stabbed Rocco ." He cried .

"I'm on my way . I'll be right there . The guards are on their way too ." Harry assured him , "I'm going to need you to help Rocco , okay ? I need you to help stop his bleeding ."

Louis cried and nodded , "O-Okay ."

"Take off your jacket and press it down on the wound ." Harry instructed , "He's going to cry a bit , it'll hurt him , but don't stop - it will save his life ."

Louis took the jacket off and pressed it down on Rocco's stab wounds , crying along with him . "I kn-know , I'm sorry , I know ." Louis tried soothing him , now surrounded by the three dogs . Odin had blood all over his mouth and fur down to his front paws , Apollo and Chess 

Louis looked up when he heard vehicles , he saw two Range Rovers heading his way through the park and sighed in relief . Five guards jumped out of the vehicles and rushed over to him , he helped them place Rocco gently onto a blanket and two guards carried him into their Rover , with Louis sitting in the back with him .

Apollo , Odin and Chess stayed with the other three guards at the scene , the man who attacked Louis was dead and Odin had his blood all over him , they started working on closing the scene and marking everything for investigation .

Louis , Rocco and the guards arrived at the hospital , the veterinarian had his team and operation room ready for Rocco's arrival and Rocco was quickly taken in .

Harry was there too , he went into the operation room with Victor and made sure everything was taken care of , then left Victor in charge while he went to comfort Louis .

Louis looked up when the doors opened , tears falling from his eyes when Harry brought him into a hug .

"He's going to be okay baby , he's going to make it . I promise you ." Harry squeezed him and rubbed his back , "Zayn will be here shortly with clothes for you to change into , okay ? I told him to bring you clean clothes ."

Louis calmed down , Harry kissed his head and tilted Louis' head up , "Tell me what happened there ."

Louis sniffled and cleared his throat , "I -- we -- this man , h-he --"

"Breathe . Stop for a minute ." Harry held his face , "Take a deep breath ."

Louis took a few deep breaths and collected himself before starting again . "This man held a gun at me , a-and Rocco jumped him . But the man pulled a knife out and s-stabbed Rocco ." Tears filled his eyes again .

Harry hugged him , "He'll be okay , we'll take care of him and make sure of it ."

"It hurt s-so much to see him in pain , a-and the sounds -- it hurt so much ." Louis sniffled , Harry held him tighter and kissed his head .

Zayn joined them a bit later with clean clothes for Louis , Louis went to change out of the blood-stained clothes and when he returned to where Harry was standing outside the operation room , he frowned when he saw Harry smirking widely with his phone pressed to his ear .

"What's going on ?" Louis asked , Harry looked at Louis and gave him a wink , "Just got some good news from the scene at the park ."

Louis blinked . "What am I missing ? Good news ?"

"I'll talk to you later , keep me updated ." Harry said into the phone and hung up , then turned his attention to Louis . "Want to tell me about Odin and the man ?" He asked still smirking .

"Odin kind of ... well , he ... uh , attacked , the man ?" Louis held his sweater paws , not too sure how to say that Odin killed the man .

Harry nodded along . "Yes , baby , just say it . He snapped his neck ." His smirk grew even wider , "My pup snapped a neck ."

Louis huffed and crossed his arms over his chest , sitting down on the closest chair , "He has that man's blood all over him , why are you still happy ?"

"I'm happy he's protecting you . I'm happy he's doing his job ." Harry kneeled in front of him , "I've said from the beginning that I want the pups to do just that , and hopefully snap a neck one day . And my pup did it , and I'm happy and I'm proud of him ."

"He killed him ."

"I killed bad people too ."

Louis was quiet for a few seconds before sighing , "It's just ... he'll always be my pup . And I don't like the idea of him killing people ."

"I know baby ." Harry took his hand and kissed his knuckles , "However - we will do anything to keep you safe . And yes , that includes snapping necks ."

Rocco's wounds were taken care of and he was placed in recovery room , where Louis was waiting for him . He laid with him and kept him company , petting him gently and kissing his head .

The vet checked on him once every hour and brought him food and water . Louis made sure he ate and let him lay his head on his lap when he was done .

He moved to cuddle with him , both falling asleep shortly after .

Harry went out to the scene at the park , his lips twitched up into a smirk at the sight of Odin . Liam had him cleaned up , and the body was covered with a black sheet .

"My pup ." Harry kneeled in front of him and put his hand under his jaw , pressing a kiss to the bridge of his nose . Odin looked at him with his tongue held out , Harry smiled a bit wider and kissed him once more before standing up .

He walked over to the body and removed he sheet , smiling when Odin growled at the sight of the man . "Definitely my pup ."
