Chapter 4 - Taking Action

Sting's POV

"Yes! I'm almost done!" I shouted in delight.

"You're finally thinking straight." I heard Rogue to chuckle.

"Yeah yeah... Hey Rogue can you pass me that last pile of papers for me?"

"Hmph. Get it yourself." Rogue rolled his eyes and an irk mark appeared on my head.

"I was asking nicely. Don't get your shadows in a bunch." I stuck my tongue out.

"Still a kid as ever."

"Whatever." I pouted and got up from my seat to grab the last piles of paper.

"What are the papers even for?"

"Just some stuff for the guild and jobs."

"I see." He said as I walked back to my desk to place the papers and myself down.

"H-Hey Rogue..."

"Yeah?"

"I still can't get over that time... which was weeks ago when I uh... accidentally cuddled you in my sleep... Sorry." I stammered at the thought.

"That was weeks ago and that's fine... you got your punishment anyways." Rogue said with a smug grin and I glared daggers at him

"I was asleep okay!"

"And fantasizing in your sleep..." Rogue shivered.

"S-Shut up!" I barked and he chuckled. "But I still can't believe that the Magic Council was destroyed and the members died as well... that's a worrisome." I added.

"Me neither."

"Something is up... I wonder if Natsu-san and the others are informed."

"I'm pretty sure they are. The news is everywhere." Rogue said.

"I know..."

"Sting-kun! Rogue-kun!" we heard Lector say as he strolled himself inside my office, along with Frosch with a smile on his face. The usual.

"What is it Lector?" I asked as I knelt down to pat his head.

"The mailman was handing out the mail outside the guild and I read the front that it was from Erza-kun..."

"Erza-san? Did you read it?" I cocked an eyebrow and he nodded.

"Y-Yeah... about that.. her um... letter wasn't very well written."

"What do you mean?" I asked as I took the letter from him and unsealed it to read it.

"..."

"Well?" Rogue raised an eyebrow at me.

"Y-You're right... It's not the uh... Greatest." I sweat dropped as I handed it over to Rogue.

"Horrible." He muttered.

"You could say that again." Lector sighed.

"Fro thinks so, to!"

"But this is serious though..." I said, grabbing the letter once more from Rogue.

"Something else that I couldn't have thought of ... They found Minerva." Rogue added.

"Our lady!" Lector and Frosch cheered.

"Yeah... We're gonna go and see what's up. I have a feeling of something is going to happen. Not too mention the sudden attack of the magic council."

"Yeah." Rogue muttered.

"When are we going to get back our lady?" Lector asked.

"As soon as possible, later today. But ... I have some things as a Master to finish with." I smirked.

"Yay!~" Frosch cheered.

"Time to bring back our comrade." Rogue smiled and I gave him a thumbs up.

"Yeah... to get our lady back from trouble and to help Natsu-san and the others."

"Yeah!" Lector and Frosch cheered as I grinned.

"B-But first... I need to do some stuff before we go." Sting sweat dropped.

"Then hurry your ass up!" Rogue muttered as he walked out of the office.

"Yeah yeah. I'll be done in a jiffy." I sighed, combing my blonde hair with one of my hands and start to work on the paper in front of me.

"Rogue!~ Wait for me!" Frosch giggled as he ran towards Rogue leaving me and my best friend alone in my office.

"There they go." Lector grinned.

"Yeah."

"Hey Sting-kun..."

"Yes Lector?" I smiled at my buddy.

"Has it really been that long since Cynthia-chan... Died?" He asked frowning.

"I suppose it has. But we can't always... Be upset right? We need to move on but still keep Cee-chan in our hearts. That's where she is now." I said, feeling my heart to ache.

"I wonder if she's watching us? Where do people go after they die?"

"Somewhere peaceful and relaxing. I have a feeling that Cee-chan is watching over us as we speak. Maybe she's here as a ghost?!" I said in shock.

"T-There's no w-way that she c-can be a ghost!" Lector whimpered.

"Maybe she's watching you while you eat your fish! Everywhere you go!" I taunted jokingly.

"N-No she can't!" He said in fear.

"Hahaha I'm just joking with you Lector. But maybe she is or she isn't. I assure you, she's not a ghost. Besides... Ghosts don't exist. Right?" I winked at my little buddy who sighed in relief.

"R-Right... and don't scare me like that again!" He scolded and I gave out a laugh.

"Sorry. Thought it would be funny!" I grinned.

"I'm just glad you're back to your usual self..."

"Lector?"

"Finish those papers in time Sting-kun! I'm going shopping and call me when it's time to go! See ya later!~" Lector said smugly and I groaned.

"Don't remind me."

"Just did! Have fun Sting-kun!" He waved before going out the doors.

"Yeah... I'll be having fun... With these boring papers. Be safe Lector!" I called out.

"Later!"

I sat there in my desk, still staring at the papers in front of me and back to the door. The first thing that came into my mind was how Erza found our princess. Our lady, Minerva. I wonder where she has gone ever since the games but after what it said in the letter, that Minerva joined a dark guild... we need to get her back home. To her family and guild. This is where she belongs. And that is why we are going to prepare ourselves for battle and to get her back safely.

But other things came into my mind and into play... that was Cynthia.

After that whole commotion that was a few weeks ago with her cousin which I never knew that she actually had a cousin in the first place. Or wait... I think she did when we were kids. Can't really remember. Heh.

The thought of her cousin though... Asuna was it? Her scent was almost exact with Cynthia's... not too mention her appearance. Almost alike.. that those two can be sisters. Asuno with that long brown hair of an ombre effect and gold eyes. Then there was my beautiful Cynthia. Her long luscious and soft sand brown locks that I would always love to run my and through. To feel the silkiness of it and how it smelt like vanilla and strawberries. And not too mention those purple eyes that I love so much. Her eyes were always filled with determination, passion and love for all of her comrades.. and especially towards me.

I miss her.

I want to see her again.

It's so infuriating to lose her, over and over again.

I want her back in my arms.

I want my Cynthia.

My everything.

My mate.

That is why... I need to be strong and hold hope within my heart. Hope that I can see her again and find her. But it's been more than three months and I won't give up. I will search for her all over. Until the day I die.

I gave out a soft chuckle.

I thought back to when I was chatting to Lector not too long ago... 'Cynthia as a ghost? Who am I kidding. There's no way that she can be... there are no such things as ghosts.. right?' I snickered in my thoughts.

But if Cee-chan really was a ghost... I would sniff her out. I always have her scent, her voice, her touch, her soft and warm kisses and hugs that I would always love to cuddle with her. I can still linger the last time I had Cynthia in my arms. The time when we parted ways.

Her body still remains. It hasn't been discovered yet... it was like she had disappeared magically and beautifully. When those wings of hers appeared on her back, I was mesmerized by her angelic beauty and just everything about Cee-chan was just... beautiful.

I will find her. Body or no body. I will find Cynthia. But for now... we need to retrieve Minerva back from the dark guild. As well as helping Natsu-san and the others... something that had to do with Tartaros... the dark guild.

Just you wait Cee-chan.

Cynthia's POV

"You're new hair style looks pretty..." I heard Meredy to say as her eyes lingered on my now new chocolate brown hair that was slightly trimmed at the bottom. It was still long, but I wanted a few dead ends to get rid of. After my encounter with these two, I wanted to change my appearance slightly... you know... a fresh life so a fresh look. Does that make sense? Well it does to me, hehe. I had to pout my way to make us stop in a village so I can do my hair and get it done.

Luckily... he allowed it.

"Thank you! I'm glad it turned out this way." I chirped.

"You're welcome Cynthia! But I still can't get over the fact that you're alive... Rumors spread really fast that you... died to save everyone..." Meredy said.

"And I can't believe that I am back alive... Not too mention that it has been three months and two weeks since the accident..." I said as I felt my chest tightened.

"At least you're alive. That's all it matters." Meredy gave me a soft smile, in which I returned one back.

"Hurry you two, we have no time to waste." Jellal said, who was ahead of us.

"We're coming Jellal!" Meldy answered.

"Is there someone that he has to deal with?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. It's was a responsibility that was handed down to him from someone in the Magic Council?" she said skeptically.

"Oh... then let's be on our way." I winked and saw that Meredy ran up behind Jellal as I stayed behind, watching their every step as I was slowly drifting into my thoughts.

I shut my eyes, reminiscing about after my encounter with Jellal and Meredy. I've learned everything that has happened in the two months and two weeks ever since I was gone... well to be precise dead. After I bumped into Jellal and Meredy which was a huge relief to me, I had no idea where I was going and how to get out of the forest that I was in. Trust me, it was huge and you can get lost pretty easily!

Jellal told me that it was a forest that you could get lost in, an illusion to be precise but as long as you are on the right track... you'll be safe. Thankfully I did. Of course, with the help of both Jellal and Meredy.

After we got out of the forest, they allowed me to tag along.. even if they were an independent guild that always don't stay in one place... Jellal and Meredy felt that I can find my way to Fairy Tail, to guide me. Just until I find my way back. Which I gladly accepted.

Meredy was of course welcoming me and as well with Jellal. During my three day trip with them, they told some events that have been happening during the time I was dead. I learned that Natsu-san and the others have been on many jobs which turned out to be missions and the usual... doing for the good and helping those in needs.

Apparently their third member in their guild... Ultear, gave her life to save everyone's lives during the time of the dragons which was after the games. She protected us and it was this sort of spell that she had to give up her life to bring back the time, to one minute that happened before. I felt very upset that their comrade died...but I'm very thankful that she gave us a vision of what was actually suppose to happen. Her sacrifice will not be a waste.

Heh. Reminds me of someone.

But what shocked me the most.. was that the Magic Council was destroyed by a demon sort of guy. All of the members died except for one. Apparently he was part of Fairy Tail during the S-Class Mage trials at Tenrou Island... which my memories seem to be slightly hazy. Apparently he was the one who tricked everyone in the guild to think of him as a member. Seems like it was all messed up...

Back to that demon guy who killed all of the Council Members... he was part of a dark group called Tartaros.... which reminded me at the time when I encountered Zeref in my unconsciousness. Never thought that Tartaros has started to take action. I felt a shiver to run down my spine just thinking about it.

Who knew that a lot of things happened within that small time period huh? I gave a chuckle as I bumped into something warm. I brought my hand up to rub my nose and scrunched my face before staring up at the figure that seemed to be Jellal's back.

"S-Sorry Jellal. I wasn't paying attention." I mumbled.

"That's alright. Are you okay?" he said turning to face me slightly and back towards the road.

"Geez. Ever since you've travelled with us for the past three days... you always seem to be spacing out. Are you okay?" Meredy asked worriedly as she placed a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm fine! Don't worry about me. It's just still a shocker that a lot has happened ever since I came back to life... well alive again." I gave them a cheeky grin.

"That's something that I cannot blame you for. We would also be like that as well. A miracle that has happened and a shocker of how you came to life..."

"Especially when your first Master of Fairy Tail is your aunt... and how you're actually older... than us." Meredy piped.

"I know right. It's strange but I'm very thankful in a way...?" I sweat dropped.

"If only Fairy Tail and Erza would see your face... Alive and well. They would be very pleased." Jellal smiled to himself as Meredy and I smirked at each other.

"Erza-san huh?" I said with a cocky tone.

"You miss her, don't you Jellal?" Meredy smirked wider.

"W-What are you guys talking about!? I don't... not li-"

"Oh save it Jellal. We all know that you have the hots for her." I chuckled at his flushed face.

"You're blushing." Meredy pointed out, making him to turned redder as an irk mark appeared on his head.

"So you do like her!" I exclaimed happily.

"S-Shut up you two, and who knows?"

"Hah! You admitted it! Stop lying to yourself Jellal. It's okay to like her... or even... love her." I smirked making him to blush.

"Cynthia is right. You should kiss her next time. The last time you didn't and lied." Meredy sighed.

"You lied and almost kissed?! How come I don't know any of this!" I shouted in shock.

"I did not admit it... and that was because it was a private moment between us two..." Jellal said and looked away.

"Private moment... huh?" I taunted.

"He lied that he had a fiancee." Meredy simply answered and bluntly.

"I bet Erza-san knew about you lying..." I giggled.

"Will you two stop it. We're almost there." Jellal sighed, trying to break the conversation and walked faster, leaving the two of us slightly behind.

"He's shy." Meredy giggled.

"Totally."

Meredy and I talked throughout the whole time as we were still making our destination that Jellal wanted to head to. We only talked about girl things and all, then there's Jellal who was being serious about something in his mind. I wonder what's on his mind. He's mysterious, sneaky and very cunning in a way.

'Lucky you, Erza-san.' I giggled in my thoughts.

Not looking where I was going, I bumped into that same thing again. Or should I say person. Looking up to see who, I guessed right.

It was Jellal's back once more. Geez. What's up with me and bumping into his back!?

"There you go again, Cynthia." Meredy sighed and I chuckled as I gave her a cheeky smile.

"My bad?" I answered to poke Jellal's back. "Jellal?" I asked softly.

But this time he didn't pay attention. Instead, he kept his stare in front of him.

"Jellal?" I asked softly but a little louder this time.

"I'll repay my debt. Leave them to me." was all he said.

"Huh? What do you mean by that, Jellal?" I asked.

"Meredy, Cynthia. Get back." he said without looking back to us.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Not knowing what he meant, I took a step to the side to see a group of people in front of us. My eyes widened in shock to see them with either a smirk or frown on their faces. Never thought that they would escape once more.

"Oracion Seis." I muttered and narrowed my eyes towards them.

"Hm? Oh. If it isn't that little Cynthia from seven years ago and not too long ago either with that key of the Starry Sky." Cobra smirked in my direction.

"Cobra...." I growled trying to take a step forward but I was stopped instantly by Jellal as he brought up his arm. Blocking me to go any further.

"Missed us?" Cobra chuckled with a grin plastered on his face.
