Toriel P.O.V

"Poor child... she hit her head pretty good... maybe that jokester is back today....he'll cheer me up." I closed Cassy's door and walked into the damp basement.

A subtle knock came from the heavy wood door.

"Knock knock." I rushed forward

"Who's there?" I said out of breath

"Pencil." I could here his quiet chuckles through the door.

"Pencil who?" I grinned

"Never mind. It's pointless" I drew a blank for a second and then it clicked.

I started laughing hysterically and heard a thump on the other side along with laughter.

"Ok ok my turn, Knock knock."

"Who's there" he tried containing his laughter

"Who."

"Who who?"

"My! I didn't know you had an owl!"

"Pfft! HAHAHA!" We both cracked up

"I've heard you wanted to know how to knit." I continued

"Why yes I have!" He played along

"Well I give tu-Toriels!" He continued to laugh and I joined in.

I heard a thump upstairs and snapped back into reality

"I need to go my friend. I will finish this tomorrow!" He chuckled and said goodbye

"Goodbye." I laughed lightly and ran upstairs closing the hatch and putting the rug back over it.

I poked my head into Cassy's room. She was on the floor holding her head. I rushed over to her and picked her up. I held her close and rocked her

"Oh dear are you ok?" She nodded.

I sighed relived and decided to put her in my bed. It's bigger so she won't fall off.

"Goodnight sweet heart." I kissed her forehead.

"Night mom..." my eyes widened surprised and I smile widely

I covered her in blankets and walked out closing the door behind me. Somehow in just the day that I had met this girl...I have grown so attached to her....it feels nice...

I went into my living room and started looking through my snail book. I should make her a cake. She did mention she liked butterscotch. I smiled and got everything together. Eggs, milk, flour, butterscotch, vanilla extract,baking powder, the pan, and a whisk. I mixed everything together and poured it into the pan. I placed it into the oven and set it to 350° F after pre-heating it of course.

After about 30 minutes it was a golden brown. I took a toothpick and stuck it in the middle. I pulled it out and saw it was dry so I let it cool for a good 20 minutes and glazed it. I cut a piece off and placed it onto a plate. I wrote a note and put it on the plate next to the cake.

I placed it on my bedside table and walked into the living room to read.

Cassidy P.O.V

I woke up and yawned sleepily, I went to go back to bed but the smell of butterscotch filled my nose. I opened my eyes and saw a piece of cake along with a note next to my bed.

Morning sleepy head! I'm most likely in the kitchen. Go strait down the hall and turn right. It's right there.

I smiled and rolled out of bed. I went down the hall and saw mom at the stove. I snuck up behind her and poked her. She jumped and looked at me.

"Morning sweet heart!" She hugged me

"Morning!" I smiled

I suddenly heard a knock on a door somewhere.

"Someone just knocked" mom looked at me and led me over to a rug which she pulled up. She opened the hatch underneath ans climbed down. I followed her and I held her hand.

"Hello?" A deeper voice rang out, it wasn't very deep and it wasn't too high.

"Hold on one sec!" Mom turned to me

"Honey that's my friend go say hi of you want." I nodded slowly.

I went up to the door and knocked.

"Knock knock"

"..."

"That's my daughter" mom explained

"Oh, Who's there?" He said kindly

"Skeleton" I smirked

"Skeleton who?" He said monotone

"We're gonna have a skeleton of fun together!" I waited a seconded.

He suddenly started laughing.

"How ironic!" I tilted my head confused "hm?"

"Oh you'll see one day..." He laughed

I heard a different, much higher, voice on the other side.

"SANS! WHERE ARE YOU? ITS NOT BREAK TIME!"

"Oh looks like I've gotta go.. see ya kid!"

"Bye!" I waved even though he couldn't see the gesture.

"Goodbye!" Mum said happily
