The sisters drove deep into the city, not exchanging many words. But it was a comfortable silence, unlike earlier.
Malory watched the cars, buildings and people as they passed them, leaning her head on her seat belt like a moving, flat, uncomfortable pillow.
Harley tapped her fingers on the steering wheel in time to the quietly-playing pop music station on the radio.
And the older, accidentally found herself thinking about Ash and Reagan. She wondered if Ash was short for Ashley, or some other name that could be shortened to Ash. She decided that Ashley suit the girl better. And Reagan. What a cool name. Like Ronald Reagan, but without the Ronald. And he had a nice suit.
All of sudden her phone began vibrating annoyingly often in her pocket. She took it out and looked at the screen. Rachel had texted her several times, but the patient hadn't gotten them till then because her service was spotty.
Most of them just told Malory to text Rachel once she wasn't "out and about". Malory thought that "out and about" sounded stupid.

"...Mal!"
Harley's shout got her sisters attention, and she noticed that the car had stopped moving and that they were in a car park.

"Oh." Was all she said. She climbed out of the passengers seat and went around to get her bag from the back seat. Harley waited for her then began walking towards an elevator.
Malory decided to expand her thinking limits to include Reagan and his sister. They were the first people she had talked to in years outside her very small family or friend group, thus, they had some level of importance.

Harley led Malory through a hotel lobby that the parking garage was connected to, then up to room four-hundred twenty.
She opened the door, and as soon as she did, Malory was literally, physically knocked back with fruity smells from inside the room.

"Elizabeth! I told you to take it easy with the lotion!" Harley half-shouted in exasperation, at the young girl sitting on one of the two queen-sized beds in the moderately cozy hotel room.

"I got distracted by Foster's Home. Sorry." The youngest of the three sisters shrugged, rubbing her hands together as if she was washing them. But she was just rubbing in the "Cherry Blossom" lotion that was now gone. Her eyes were on the TV still, and hadn't moved, even when the door opened.

"For Imaginary Friends? They still air that?" Malory asked, moving past Harley into the room and setting her suitcase aside.
Elizabeth looked over and grinned.

"Mal!" She jumped up, ran, and hugged her oldest sister tightly.
The sister in question staggered a bit and hesitated to hug Liz back, but she did. Last time she saw her she was only ten. She was sixteen now and frankly, Malory was a bit disturbed by the change.

"H-Hello, Elizabeth." Mal smiled softly as she stepped back from the hug. Elizabeth was grinning, but it faltered when she saw her sisters appearance.

"Hey. Um. Yeah, they don't air it any more, it's uh. Um, just on Netflix. I've been binge-watching."
A short awkward silence ensued.

"So I figured that tomorrow we could go out for breakfast to this cute little bakery my friend told me about, then we can go get the money, and Malory can be on her way." Harley suggested in a perky tone, taking her sisters bags and putting them beside the untouched, second bed.

Mal nodded.
"I'll be back later. I'm going out for a smoke."

Liz and Harley looked at each other- almost exasperatedly- as Malory left the room.
