"I- I talked to a little deaf girl and her brother." Malory confirmed, running a hand through her hair and pushing it back away from her face as she did.

"Why? Not that I'm not... Not encouraging this, but why?" Rachel asked quickly, and Mal could hear her clicking a pen open.

"My bandage was too thick to grab my suitcase. She just grabbed it for me and looked at me. I couldn't not, I- I- couldn't not thank her so I did then she started a conversation with me but she could read lips then her brother came up and said hi then led her away so I left. I shook hands and everything." Malory explained in slight (yet vague) detail since she knew Rachel would want it, since she was writing it all down. She sounded rather proud of herself at the end, and smiled a bit as the cab pulled out of the airport area.

"Wow. That's- they're the first people you've talked you besides me in how long...?" Rachel question, sounding just as proud and a tad impressed with her patient.

"A year and a half, eighteen months." Malory grinned, leaning against the window. "Well, other than Harley but that was over the phone..." She added.

"Well that's still... Wow. Good job, Malory. I'm very proud of you."

The patient could hear her doctor's smile and felt immensely proud as well.

"Thank you, Rachel." Was all she said, before her service cut off and the call dropped. She looked at her phone and frowned, but figured the conversation was over so shrugged and put it away.

The cab pulled to an abrupt stop, and Malory was jerked forward due to her lack of a seatbelt. She was too timid to shout at the cabby, though.

And thankfully, because it wasn't his fault. There was a large traffic jam in front of the cab, and the driver was not at fault.

Malory's phone rang again and she answered it immediately, as it was still in her hand.

"Mal, where are you? I've been wandering around the airport for half an hour now looking for you." Harley chided, practically shouting into her cell.

"I got a cab. I think I forgot you were going to pick me up. I'm in a traffic jam now." The older sister answered, shrugging to brush off her forgetting.

"You are the least forgetful person I know. You remember the name of my fourth hamster. What would make you forget?" Harley sounded suspicious now, and Malory relaxed in her seat as the traffic slowly putted along.

"That one was Justin, after Justin Beaver. That was during your awful stage when you were infatuated with him. I forgot because I was distracted." Mal sighed, leaning against the door.

"Bieber. What distracted you?"

"A meeting with a man and his sister."

"...what?"

"A meeting with a man a-"

"I heard you the first time, just, what? I thought you were a social recluse, hermit to the world, terrified of people. What happened?"

Malory rolled her eyes.

"A girl helped me in the airport. Her big brother came and got her. I spoke with them, I called Rachel and told her because I got excited." She explained dryly.

"Rachel? Never mind, you can explain when we meet up. Have the cabby take you to whatever public park is closest to the airport. I'll meet you there." And with that, she hung up.

The insomniac gave the instructions to the cabby and sighed, putting her phone away and closing her eyes as she waited for the traffic to move.
