Chapter 66
Taehyung went to the Park company but he was stopped by the security asking who he was looking for. As Jimin's person, now without him, they made it difficult for Taehyung to get in but they weren't necessarily kicking him out.
"I want to see Lee Taemin." Taehyung said.
The receptionist pretended to give a call then put the phone down. "I am sorry Mr Kim, but our President Lee has no time for a visit."
"President Lee?" Taehyung coldly laughed. "Since when did Lee Taemin become your President Lee?"
"Mr Kim, please leave now." The receptionist annoyedly said.
Taehyung was still persistent until the security forced him to leave the building. He stood in front of the entry and looked up at the building that he used to enter freely. Obviously, he never received that kind of treatment. But since Jimin was no longer the CEO, they could just do what they like.
Lee Taemin is really a sly wolf.
Taehyung sneered and pulled his phone to dial a number. He waited until someone came out from the building. It was one of the managers of the Park company, he had a good relationship with him so he could only think of him to help him get in.
He had to get in and pass Jimin's message to Taemin.
Finally Taehyung could get inside the Park company smoothly. But unfortunately, as the entire Park company was now in Taemin's control, he had ordered that anyone related to Jimin should not be allowed inside the building. So in no time, the security noticed his presence.
Taehyung ran to the elevator and got inside.
He knew he only had a limited time. If Taemin was not on the top floor then he wouldn't have time to find him because the security guards were after him.
The elevator door opened and he got inside the office room. Previously, it was Jimin's office but now it was Taemin who was sitting inside.
Taehyung found it quite funny.
Inside, Taemin was talking with several shareholders and directors, one of them was Park Jae Kyung.
"How could you get in? Where is the security?" Park Jae Kyung yelled.
Taehyung ignored him and stared at Taemin, "Taemin, President Park wants to see you."
"President Park?" Taemin smirked. "Which President Park are we talking about? How could I not know if there's a President Park in Seoul?"
"Lee Taemin, don't get cocky. One day you will pay for everything you do." Taehyung pointed at him.
Taemin shrugged. "Then I will wait for that day."
In no time, the security guards rushed inside. First, they apologized to Taemin then hurriedly grabbed Taehyung's arms. Yet he stood still and chuckled: "Taemin, do you think you can hide Krystal? You know her, she will find a way. You are not worthy for her."
Taemin's face was calm before but his face changed after he heard it. "Take him away!"
Taehyung was finally being rushed out by the guards but he was laughing. "Are you afraid, Taemin?" He challenged him.
Taemin's face was red, he threw the pen he was holding to the floor. The shareholders and directors were startled and retreated a step. "Out now!" He yelled.
All of them left the office room immediately.
Taemin dialed a number. It was a night time there. "Mr Lee."
"What is Krystal doing?" He held his phone and massaged his temple.
"Mrs Lee is sleeping, do you want to speak to her?"
He was silent for a while: "How is she? How is her health? Did any of you take her out to walk around?
"Mrs Lee is in a good condition, Mr Lee. You have nothing to worry about, we will do all of it properly."
"Good." Taemin answered. "Don't let anyone get close to her. Don't let her use the phone and the internet. Buy whatever she wants and if she wants to stroll around, don't stop her but keep watching her."
"I understand, Mr Lee."
Taemin hung up and closed his eyes before getting up to take his coat. He then drove his car to the police station. Since Jimin wanted to meet him then why shouldn't he grant his wish and seize the opportunity to mock him?
Jimin sat down on the opposite of him. Taemin looked at him up and down: "I never thought there would be a day that I could see you like this." He smirked. "How are you liking the prison?"
"Lee Taemin, my biggest mistake was trusting you. If I realized sooner, the Park family wouldn't be like this."
Taemin smiled, his eyes were filled with viciousness. "Right, it was your mistake." He chuckled and folded his arms. "What is the point of it now? Can you go back to the past and change anything? You can't even protect yourself."
He got closer and put his hands on the table. "Do you know why I do this?"
"I don't want to know." Jimin cut him off. He didn't need to know his reasons, even if he had good reasons, he would never forgive him. As soon as he has the opportunity, he would make it worse for Taemin than what he has to suffer at this moment.
"In these past two nights, did Grandma ever come to your dreams?"
Taemin's face turned sour but he was subtle enough to keep his poker face. He was used to hiding his own feelings. "Why are you asking me that? So what if I dream about that old woman?" He smiled. "Now you're being my scapegoat, do you think it's enough?"
He didn't want to waste anymore of his time so he stood up and went to the door. Suddenly he remembered something then turned his body. "Oh I almost forgot, we kicked Y/N and Joonie out of the Park residence." He smiled and left.
Krystal was abroad for a few days now, after failing to run away, she seemed to be resigned to anything. She kept quiet and didn't do anything. Even though she could go stroll around, she never left the house. She stayed home and watched TV.
Everyday Taemin would call, but every time they asked if she would take the call, she always refused. He understood her attitude so he could only ask them about her condition and asked them to take care of her. The big house was like a prison for her even though it had everything that she needed, there even a doctor stayed in the house.
Krystal was peeling an apple but she cut her finger. The maid directly called the doctor and brought a first aid box. Her wound was quite deep. To prevent it from being infected, the doctor immediately treated it. It was painful and she looked at the maid: "Can you get me a glass of water?"
"Okay, Mrs Lee." She went down to get her a glass of water.
The doctor looked at her: "Mrs Lee, since you are pregnant I can't give you any pain killer."
"Okay."
The doctor started to treat her wound but she screamed out of pain. "Give me a pain killer!"
"You shouldn't have any pain killer, Mrs Lee." The doctor hurriedly treated her wound. It was too painful for her, she laid down on the bed and she was sweating.
The maid took a towel and wiped her forehead.
"Remember not to tell Mr Lee about this. I'm okay and it's just a small matter but he would go frantic if he knew and it won't be good for any of you. I don't want you to get hurt. He is far away anyway. Do you understand?" Krystal instructed.
The doctor and the maid looked at each other, they finally nodded. "Okay, we understand Mrs Lee."
"Good. You can go now, I want to rest." Krystal seemed to be tired, she waved her hands and closed her eyes.
When they both left the room, she opened her eyes. She took a bottle of sleeping pills from the first aid box. She sat up without caring for her injured finger. She took the pills and used a glass to pulverize it. After that she covered the bottle again and put it back.
Krystal lied down again and stared at the ceiling. She gazed at her belly and her tears fell down. She wiped them with her hand before closing her eyes again.
The time she woke up, it was already late, she pulled away her blanket and glanced at her injured hand then put on her slippers. She took her glass and went downstairs.
"Mrs Lee, do you want to drink water? I will help you pour another one." The maid offered.
"No, I will pour it by myself." She took the glass with her to the kitchen.
The chef was making dinner, noticing her appearance, the chef was startled. "Mrs Lee."
"I'm going to pour me some water, don't need to mind me."
The chef nodded and turned his head back to prepare dinner.
"What are you cooking tonight?"
The chef answered: "Your favorite dish, Mrs Lee."
"Okay." Krystal then took her glass of water and went out of the kitchen.
At night, Krystal went to bed early. She laid down on the bed and closed her eyes. The maid switched on the dim light inside the bedroom. She then took a shower and laid down on the sofa to sleep.
Even though Krystal was closing her eyes, she wasn't sleeping. She was waiting for the opportunity. After a few hours, she opened her eyes. She waited for a few minutes before pulling her blanket away. She didn't even bother to wear her slippers, she just carefully took light steps to walk towards the maid.
She waved in front of her face and slightly shook her shoulder then called her name. Fortunately, she was in a deep sleep. She opened the door and went downstairs. Krystal stared at the men sleeping on the sofa, they were also in a deep sleep.
This morning, Krystal had prepared all of her necessary things to leave the house. Of course her ID and passport were not with her. The time she was sent away, it was taken by Taemin. All she had was money.
Krystal took the keys and left the house. It was 2AM, so it was quiet outside. There were not many people nor cars. She didn't have a phone so she couldn't call a taxi but she knew she couldn't stop walking. It was her first and perhaps her only chance to run away.
Despite it being cold, she felt free. The kind of feeling of not being watched and controlled by anyone, she could do anything she wanted.
At this moment, Krystal felt excited but also agitated. She knew by drugging their food with sleeping pills, it would only be temporary. She was worried that they might wake up soon and chase after her.
Finally, there was a convenient store. She immediately called Y/N. She was anxious but at last Y/N answered the call. "Y/N!"
"Krystal? Where are you?"
"Taemin sent me to Hartford, Connecticut. I'm at a convenience store now and I don't have my phone with me. I don't know if they will chase after me but I am scared, I am so scared Y/N..." Krystal's voice shivered. Even though she tried to be strong these past few days, she seemed to be unable to control her tears now.
"Don't be afraid, Krystal. Look for a place to hide first, I will go there to find you okay? Don't be afraid." Y/N tried to calm her down. "Don't stay at the hotel, that's the first place he would check. Also don't use any card, it's easy to track it."
"I have cash but I don't have my ID and passport with me." She rubbed her pocket. It wasn't much but it could support her for a few days.
"It's okay, I will find a way. Now go hide, I will find you soon."
"Okay."
Y/N hung up and immediately called Jeon Jungkook. If she wanted to find Krystal in Connecticut, she needed someone she could trust to take care of Joon Min. Especially now they had nowhere to live. Moreover, Jungkook could give her solution.
Jungkook had already left the hospital and now he was recovering at home. When Y/N called, he asked her to contact Taehyung and brought Joon Min together to his house.
They moved fast because they were afraid that they might find Krystal before them. When they arrived at Jungkook's place, Y/N put the sleepy Joon Min in the guest room and helped him tidy up.
"Mommy, where is this?" Joon Min looked around.
"This is Uncle Kookie's house." Y/N smiled. "Joonie, Mom will go for a while. You stay here and be good, okay?" She kissed his forehead. "Go to sleep, Mom will be home soon." She covered him with his blanket.
