Jungkook couldn't help but frown. "What happened?"

He was unconscious for several days but it seemed a lot of problems had happened.

"Perhaps since you are busy, you haven't heard about an unfavorable rumor about Jimin." Y/N started to explain.

"What rumor?"

"They said that Jimin is not a Park family member and the moment all of the broad directors and shareholders heard the rumor, they forced Jimin to take a DNA test." Y/N paused. "The result showed that Jimin is unrelated to his father."

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows.

"Without giving us time to investigate, they came to the Park residence and demanded Jimin to step out from his position and leave the Park company."

It was a complete shock for Jungkook. He didn't expect that the Park family was also in a massive difficulty.

"So it seems that all these are not coincidence. I supposed it all started since your daughter's death. Jeon Wonwoo collaborated with the other party to take both of the families down."

Jimin nodded and pursed his full lips. "Yes."

"With Kim Yugyeom, we could find out more about this matter. He definitely knows who is behind all these. My mother already had people to investigate it but still. there is no clue. I'm worried that he is dead." Jungkook said.

Y/N and Jimin were also worried if he was dead. The person who is working with Jeon Wonwoo is someone who is very detailed and clever.

Because Jungkook was not in a very stable condition yet, Y/N and Jimin didn't stay for long. They worried that they would disturb when he was supposed to be resting. They left his room and went to Jin's office as Y/N wanted to know about Jungkook's progression.

When they came into Jin's office, he already knew their intention. Just in time, he also wanted to ask Jimin about his family situation. "You guys want to know about Jungkook's condition?"

Y/N nodded. "You said his legs would be paralyzed. It's not permanent, right?"

"According to his current condition, the chance to heal completely is quite small. But it doesn't mean there's no chance. We need to see his progress in the future."

Hearing this, Y/N felt sad. How could a strong and active man like Jungkook spend his entire life in bed and wheelchair?

"So how is the situation in your family, Jimin?" Jin asked. "What about the broad directors and shareholders?"

"When they heard that Grandma left the hospital, they immediately went to our house. We had no choice, they demanded that I leave the company." Jimin laughed.

Jin was startled, he didn't expect it would be this serious. "What?"

He also knew that the Park family really valued family bloodline. So he could understand that if Jimin was really unrelated to the Park family, they wouldn't let him take charge.

But for Jimin, to not inherit the Park family legacy was not really important. The fact that his family turned out to be unrelated to him was a massive attack for him. He never imagined that this could happen to him.

Jin was on a tight schedule, they couldn't stay long.

As Taehyung was employed by Jimin and he was his personal assistant, he also left the company along with him. They both investigated the matter together.

With all of these things going on, problems kept on coming. They had no chance to even breathe. They knew, it was still a long way from the end. There would be a lot more problems coming their way.

Jimin and Taehyung started their investigation from the year Joo Hyuk and Ae Ra knew each other. They still needed Joo Hyuk's help but he was missing since he left the hospital. He couldn't be contacted. Jimin already tried to check his bank account and credit card record but he found nothing.

He even went to Busan, looking for him. He asked the neighbors, they said that he had indeed come there but left almost immediately. When he entered the house, it was a complete mess.

It clearly showed his hatred toward Ae Ra. He really believed that she lied to him. The baby she left him was not even his baby. He also thought that the reason Ae Ra broke up with him was because she wanted to be with another man. But afterwards she left the baby with him to have a good life.

Now Joo Hyuk regarded her as a liar, cunning, and greedy woman.

Jimin remembered the first time he came here. The house was tidy, cozy, warm, and fragrant. Joo Hyuk had people clean the house and put her favorite flowers all over the rooms every week.

Joo Hyuk frequently took care of it personally. But now, he also personally ruined it.

Anger started building up inside Jimin. Even though he never met his mother, he would rather die than to believe that the one who gave birth to him was a wicked woman like Joo Hyuk accused her to be.

He refused to believe it.

Jimin took off his coat and folded his sleeves. He started cleaning the house but no matter what, it couldn't be the same as before. After he was done, he booked a flight home and rushed to the airport.

When he was on his way he received a call from Taehyung. "President Park, we already found some progress."

"Proceed."

"I found your mother's neighbor that lived next door." Taehyung said.

"The neighbor when she left Seoul?"

"No, it was a neighbor when she was still living with her parents."

"How is it then? Any clue?"

"The neighbor moved around the city a few times but luckily she is still in Seoul." Taehyung said. "Perhaps we can go there tomorrow."

Taehyung remembered something: "Oh right, Park Jae Kyung called me. He asked me about our investigation." He sneered. "His assistant is persistent to do the investigation with me. He will contact Park Jae Kyung for every news. But today he unexpectedly called me."

"What did you tell him?"

"I told him that it was wiser for him to ask his assistant, perhaps he could explain it better." Taehyung continued. "He also said that his assistant will come with us."

"Just let him be."

"But, Sir..." Taehyung's tone was hesitant.

"If you have something to say, just say it." Jimin looked out the window as he almost arrived at the airport.

"I already talked with her a little bit and the situation might not be favorable for you..."

"Continue."

"She said before your mother left the neighborhood, she returned home once because of her mother's death. After she came to the funeral, she tidied all her things to leave. That time a man picked her up."

Taehyung was silent for a brief moment: "But this can't prove anything. Perhaps he was just one of her friends."

Jimin understood that Taehyung was trying to comfort him. But he also found it quite funny how life works. His eyes were tired, his entire body was tired. He massaged his temple.

"Let's discuss this further when I'm back."

After he hung up the phone, he opened the door as he arrived at the airport. It was midnight when he arrived in Seoul. When he switched on his phone, there was a message from Taheyung.

"There's a problem."

Jimin was tense when he read the message. He wasn't mentally prepared for any bad news but he called Taehyung as soon as he got into his car. "What happened?"

"It's Park Jae Kyung's assistant. He is dead."

"How can it be?"

"He was just left when I called you earlier. But then there's this news about his death. Apparently he went to grab dinner with his friends but he got drunk and when he was driving, his car bumped into a big truck. He died on site."

After he heard the news, he immediately rushed to the scene but it was blocked by the police so he couldn't get inside. Even though they said it was a drunk driving accident, Taehyung knew it wasn't that simple.

How could it be so coincidental?

He knew it was another attack for the Park family.

"What did the police say?"

"They said that it was an accident while driving under the influence. He violated the law and the truck was driving on its line and within the speed limit."

Taehyung continued. "I think this is not a coincidence."

"You need to be more careful."

Jimin arrived home late at night but Y/N still waited for him. She wanted to come with the driver to pick him up but Grandma didn't grant her wish as it was too late at night and she should be resting instead.

When Jimin entered their shared room, Y/N immediately went to him. He helped him take off his coat and put it on the hanger. "I will fill the bathtub for you."

She knew he must be tired and a good warm bath for him would relax his muscles. But when she turned her body to go to the bathroom, Jimin pulled her hand.

Y/N turned her head: "What happened?"

"Let me hug you."

She smiled then took initiative to hug him: "What is it? Did you find Dad?"

"I thought I would. I looked all over the place but I couldn't find him. I really thought he would be in Busan."

"He is not there?"

"I asked the neighbors, they said he was there but immediately left after that. I went to the house to wait for him but then I realized..." Jimin tightened his grip. "He was there to ruin everything in the house."

Y/N was startled hearing the news. "He ruined the house?"

"All of the things were ruined. The flower pots were smashed to the ground, even my photos. He hates me."

"No, he is not. He thinks your mother deceived him so he got emotional. He got hurt and he responded that way because he loves her too much."

"I just tidied up the house and left."

"Did you get any clue where he might go?" Y/N asked.

"No." Jimin shook his head. "I thought he would be there, now I really have no idea where he is."

"It's okay, let's look for him again tomorrow. We will find him soon." Y/N tried to reassure him.

Jimin nodded and let go of her. He undid his tie and threw it to the sofa. He stared at her. "Y/N, I don't think there will be enough time." He didn't even have time to do anything. They were too brilliant to handle, even up until now, Jimin couldn't find any major clues.

Jeon Wonwoo is absolutely a sly man. Several people had followed him and watched his every move but still there was nothing.

The aggressive demand for the DNA test must be a trap. They said it was to settle down the rumor so they needed proof. But instead, there were more problems. But if they refused, they would make it difficult for them either way. So no matter what they do, they would be trapped.
