Chapter 5

People could slightly tell that Y/N was pregnant as her belly was getting bigger.

Right after new year, Krystal thought she was getting fat, she looked at Y/N who was quietly eating her apple. Krystal stroked Y/N belly: "How is your pregnancy so far? Are you eating well? You don't seem to gain weight at all."

"It's actually quite good this time. I haven't got any morning sickness but my appetite is increasing, I can't seem to stop eating..."

Y/N hadn't finished her words, Krystal cut her off with 's grief tone: "Then how can you not gain any weight but I do? God really has his favorites."

Y/N smiled: "It's because you've been eating like crazy since the beginning of this year. Especially since you're visiting your parents last month."

"My mom said I'm too skinny so she fed me a lot. How could I say no to food? Only God knows how much meat I've eaten, I've been eating meat every day. I can't stop now." She planned to watch this healthy lifestyle channel because she wanted to start her diet but she kept changing the channel until she encountered an unpleasant variety show.

"I swear she is everywhere, she is on TV, newspapers, magazines, even the radio, everywhere! But maybe it's good for my diet strategy because I lose my appetite when I see her face and hear her voice."

Y/N already knew about Seulgi's comeback in the entertainment industry. She shot a big advertisement campaign for the Spring Summer collection in luxury house fashion and she recorded a soundtrack for the latest big production K-Drama. She joined a variety show to promote her comeback. She was everywhere surely to gain the audience's attention.

Everyone loved Kim Seulgi. For them, she was a goddess. Her comeback was supported by a lot of people like they have been waiting for this moment. She was not only liked and supported by one target market but her supporters were in various groups. Stay at home mothers, teenagers, young-adult, even older men. They treasured her as "national daughter-in law".

"Don't be too excessive." Y/N shook her head and chuckled.

"It's not excessive? I am only stating facts. Every time I see her face, I immediately want to throw up. I mean look at her..." Krystal pointed at the screen: "On the TV, she always acts soft, delicate, and charming. She wants to get public sympathy. But who knows that their goddess is actually a scheming prostitute. National daughter-in-law my ass!"

Y/N looked at the screen, it was an interview program. The host asked her about her recent projects and comeback. Apparently there was a rumor that she would be in a movie so the host asked her what type of movie she would be working on then he put her index finger on her lips cutely, stating that it was a secret. For the final question, of course, it would be a topic that most people care about.

Her relationship with Park Jimin.

KIm Seulgi blushed, as if she was embarrassed: "We have never been better."

"Woah I can't believe this, this woman really doesn't have dignity! How can she not be embarrassed? She is so embarrassing! Let's visit her in the studio, I'll punch her in the face for you."

It was so unbearable for Krystal to watch, she fired away her wrath in the extreme.

As if it was not good enough, the host asked: "Ms Kim, there is a rumor that Mr Park is divorcing her wife to be with you. Is it true?" It was well known that being a host meant digging on rumors and making it spicy to gain attention. Especially on TV, all they cared about was making profits so whatever it took to raise the rate.

Seulgi seemed to be mentally prepared from the start. She flipped her hair and smiled: "I would like to skip this question. People will find out very soon."

Her passive-aggressive answer clearly signaled something to the audience that indeed Jimin was divorcing Y/N to be with her soon.

Krystal couldn't take it any longer: "This is the most disgusting interview that I've ever seen!" Y/N took the remote to turn the TV off to save Krystal from her own rage.

Krystal threw her head back feeling frustrated. After finally calming down she turned her head to look at Y/N who was eating watermelon now: "Now tell me the truth, Park Jimin has cut ties with her, right? How can she say something like that on national TV?"

Y/N placed the remote on the coffee table: "They have been together for five years so he wants to compensate for her wasted time. Jimin had a guilty feeling towards her. together, she also had a miscarriage. It's just temporary until she's steady enough in her career. You know how the entertainment industry works, you must have a solid foundation in order to stand on your own feet."

Krystal bit her lips: "So she would just use your husband as her wish? That is ridiculous!"

Y/N noticed Krystal seemed to back in rage: "Don't mind her. Let's go for a stroll. I want to buy a present."

"Present? What kind of present? It's not my birthday."

Y/N coughed lightly, then shifted her gaze: "It's February 14th, in two days..."

"Valentine's Day!" Krystal said immediately then stared at Y/N with a wicked expression: "So, you want to buy a valentine's day present for your beloved Mr Park Jimin?"

"Right." Y/N nodded, not looking at Krystal's face as she was shy. "Let's go."

Krystal groaned: "I don't have someone to give one but I have to go with you? No, thank you. You can go by yourself, I'd rather watch Seulgi's interview here." She said as she held the remote and switched the channel; acted like she was watching the TV.

"I heard someone in the dance studio talk about this new restaurant. It was the best meal she ever had, she said. It's a shame that you don't want to go, I was thinking of buying you dinner..."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go! Hurry!" She said standing up.

"..."

As Y/N never gave someone a valentine's day gift before. So, at that moment she really didn't know what to do. Krystal and Y/N had been in a lot of places but still, she didn't find anything. It was even harder for her to pick something for him since this man already had everything and even if he didn't, he could just buy everything he wanted.

She almost gave up but she saw a good handkerchief, it was blue. The same color as the necklace he picked for her. She bought it and asked Krystal to go to a needlework shop to buy blue yarn.

Krystal was confused. "You'll give him a yarn?"

"No..." Y/N laughed. "I also bought a handkerchief, I will embroider something on it." She thought it would be more meaningful to embroider something on it. Jimin would keep it in his pocket at all times, a little reminder of her.

"Wow, I almost choked on my saliva. Since when have you turned into this kind of person, Y/N?" Krystal started teasing her. "I never thought you were a romantic person. You're such a loser, I am so jealous."

Y/N couldn't help but blush, "You're crazy. Come on, order whatever you want to eat."

Krystal was easily distracted by the mention of food. She immediately looked over the menu. Since Y/N was not picky, also their taste was quite similar so she just let her order. She picked up her glass and drank it while she raised her head to look around.

The dishes were out, but Krystal was acting strange. Y/N put down her fork and knife and waved her hands in front of her face a few times until she responded: "Krystal, what happened? Didn't you say that you are hungry? Are you sick?"

"No!" Krystal responded directly then picked her fork and knife up.

Y/N shook her head: "Then hurry up and eat."

They changed the topics of their conversation, but clearly Krystal's heart was not on it. She didn't know what Krystal was thinking about. She always had a lot to say about everything. However, today she was really calm and collected. It was so not like her.

Y/N realized that she kept zoning out, but suddenly she fixed her gaze on something behind her. Y/N immediately turned her head. Lee Taemin was shaking hands with his friends, it seemed that they had just finished their meal and were about to go but he walked toward them.

"Y/N, what a coincidence."

"Oh, Taemin oppa. I didn't expect to see you here. Your friends?"

"Yes, business." He was wearing a navy blue suit with a not-too-tight not-too-loose cut. He had this discreet elegance and epitomizing class and sophistication. He shot a glance at the girl beside her. His tone was so humble and polite: "Y/N, this is?"

Y/N just remembered to introduce them both: "Taemin oppa, this is my best friend, Krystal Jung. Krystal, this is my cousin-in-law, Lee Taemin."

Krystal put down her fork and knife, and she stood up. She immediately realized her response was too much. She was embarrassed that her face blushed, and now she was trying to avoid his gaze. She nodded quickly: "Hello."

Y/N noticed something wrong with her, Taemin also noticed it but he just smiled. "Y/N, I still have something to do. I will go first, take care on your way home." He said, then turned his warm gaze to Krystal: "Ms Jung, I hope to see you again."

Krystal stared at him until his figure was no longer seen. She didn't even blink! Y/N finally understood what it was about. "He's not here anymore, stop drooling." Krystal unconsciously wiped her lips. "Your face and ears are so red."

"The temperature is hot here." Krystal glared at her, then took a mouthful of the fried rice.

"His gestures are polite and delicate. And the way he carried himself is gracious, how is he related to your arrogant and rude husband?"

Regarding this question, Y/N had no answer.

"Taemin oppa is a decent man. If you married him then you won't have to go to those blind dates your parents set up."

Krystal almost sprayed out the rice inside her mouth and glared at Y/N: "Stop saying nonsense! Married?"

Her parents were lawyers, as they were busy they didn't really intervene in her love life but after they retired, they started to nag their daughter to get married and have children. They made her go on several blind dates the last time she visited them. She called Y/N to complain about it.

Y/N smiled: "What's wrong? You were drooling over him, just admit it."

Her comment made Krystal gasp: "No, I did not!"

They were clearly attracted to each other.

As for Taemin, Y/N understood that most people would consider him as gracious and polite but he was actually a very detached person. It made people feel a kind of estranged feeling. But his last sentence to Krystal, it was clearly not something that he often used.

"He is definitely attracted to you. If he's not, he wouldn't have said something like that."

"You are nonsense." Krystal groaned, shifted her gaze awkwardly. Y/N knew she was embarrassed so she let it go. After they finished their meal, she called the waiter for the bill.

It was already late when Jimin arrived home, he took off his suit and loosened his tie then clutched his hand on his neck; closing his eyes as he felt sore because he spent all day working on his desk. He noticed Y/N was sitting on the sofa doing something that seized all of her concentration.

She didn't even notice him. It made him curious and couldn't help but walk toward her. He stood behind the sofa facing her back, he couldn't see it properly, he just noticed a light blue fabric. "What are you doing?"

He startled her, in a quick motion she put the thing inside her pajamas' pocket, and looked at him: "It's nothing."

Jimin saw her put it in her pocket, he threw his suit on the sofa and sat beside her. "Why did you hide it? Let me see."
