Chapter 2

You set your fire sword in your knapsack, closing it. Hiccup gave you his sword three years a go, as a gift. That was before you were even dating, so it was unexpected. You and Hiccup had actually been in an arranged marriage before you got engaged again. You hadn't even known him then, and you hadn't had any feelings for him in the slightest. But you went through so much together...

Sighing, you set your bag down beside your bed. Now that Hiccup was chief, and he was constantly in meetings, so you hardly got to see him anymore. You hardly spent any time together. That was the reason you insisted you go with him on this trip. Also, there was the small part about all the girls completely ignoring the fact Hiccup was engaged, and constantly flirted with him; but that was beside the point.

"Hello? (Y/N)?" Hiccup barged right in without waiting for a response.

"Hiccup!" You yelled at him, glaring. "You can't just barge into someone's room! What if i was changing?"

"Sorry, sorry, but I wanted to make sure you are packed and ready."

"Yes I am," you said impatiently.

"Something on your mind?" He asked, sitting down next to you. You scooted away from him, rubbing your arms.

        "No,"

"Come on, don't try to lie to me." You sighed.

"I'm going to sound all clingy and annoying."

"(Y/N), you are lots of things: loud, stubborn, annoying; but clingy is not one of them." You smiled, despite all the things he said about you.

"Thanks Hiccup." He smiled, kissing your forehead.

"Now, I'll leave you to get some sleep."

        "Okay, night!"

        "Night."

                                                                     .                                                 .                                      .

        "(Y/N)! We're leaving in ten!"

"Okay!" You pulled on your leather jacket, throwing your knapsack onto your back, and your saddle bag under your arm. "Coming!" You ran out your door, slamming it behind you, and almost running straight into Hiccup.

"Hey, ready to go?" He asked, smiling brightly. You nodded.

He led you outside, down to the docks, and onto a boat being loaded with supplies.

"Hiccup? Why are we bringing gifts?"

"In case there are any people inhabiting the area; we'd have to earn their trust."

        "With gifts? That's bribery!"

"Pretty much. Come on, before they leave us behind."

You followed Hiccup unto the ship uneasily. You's never been sailing before, and you were a bit scared, although you would rather die than admit it to Hiccup.

                                                  .                                                                                         .                                                               .

"Land ho!" You heard someone shout. Running to the bow, you looked over the edge of the boat, gasping. Straight ahead, was a gigantic island, covered in trees, flowers, and exotic plants.

"Hiccup!" You called over your shoulder, "it's beautiful!"

You reached the island, docked, and unloaded.

"I'll take a small party out to explore, the rest of you stay here to unload, and set up camp!"

"I'm coming with you!" You called, shoving your sword in it's sheath on your belt. You caught up to them, running over to Hiccup.

"What do you think (Y/N)!" Hiccup gestured around him.

"It's a lot greener than I expected," you told him, doing your best to act unimpressed.

You walked around for what seemed like hours, enjoying the clean air, and the fresh scenery. Then, you heard it: rustling. It was quiet at first, far away. But it got closer and closer, louder and louder until it was right in front of you. You jumped at the sudden noise, almost knocking Hiccup over.

"You okay (Y/N)?" He asked, helping you up.

"I heard something," you told him, pointing to the bushes.

"It was probably no-" Hiccup was cut off as a large figure jumped in front of him. "-thing..."
