Chapter 11

Merry Christmas (and happy Hanukkah) everyone! I know I haven't updated in like two months, but I got caught up with my Hiro story, so please forgive me. If any of you are wondering, I am planning to finish this story before I start my the sequel to my Hiro x reader. Anyways, thank you all so much for waiting, and enjoy~

        You were awakened early the next morning by a loud rapping on your door. Pulling a sweater around your body, you pushed yourself out of bed, and walked over, pulling the door open. You were surprised to see Hiccup standing outside, wearing a leather jacket, and a huge smile.
        "Hey Hiccup, what's up?" He smiled wider.
        "It's today!"
        "W-what's today?"
        "The wedding preparations! I can't believe you of all people forgot (Y/N)!" Your eyes widened.
        "I completely forgot!" You exclaimed. "Hiccup, I'm so sorry!" Hiccup chuckled.
        "It's fine, but you're supposed to be downstairs in ten."
        "Right!" Slamming the door, you rushed to your bedside, slipping out of your bed clothes, and getting dressed. You pulled your hair into a ponytail and ran back outside, turning a corner, and sprinting down the stairs.
        "(Y/N)!" You heard a woman exclaim. You swung your head around to see a girl, around your age walking towards you. "I thought you wouldn't come!"
        You laughed uncomfortably and rubbed your neck.
        "Well, I'm here! Now, what are we supposed to be doing?"
        "We need to fit you for your dress!"
        "M- my dress?" You stuttered. The girl giggled quietly.
        "Of course! It's your wedding in a week!"
        You'd been so caught up with Hiccup and Rita, you hadn't given your upcoming wedding any thought -- and now you felt sick to your stomach. Did you really want to do this?
        "Right! Lead the way...." you paused and looked questioningly at her.
        "Laura," she told you quickly, taking your hand, and leading you from the great hall.

                                                                                                                      ~~~
                  (Ok, so I've no idea how Viking weddings play out, so just know I'm trying my very best to make it a realistic as possible (and I might make up a few things as well XD.)
        "You look beautiful!" Laura gasped, stepping back to admire her work. Peering into the mirror in front of you, you had to admit, she had outdone herself. Your hair was curled and braided, then tied up into a loose bun that stopped at your neck, leaving a few stray hairs to frame your face. You were wearing a knee-high, light gray dress, tied back with a simple satin bow. A cape of dark brown fur was draped over your shoulders, and another blue cloth cape flowed out behind you.
        Laura set a thin, leather headdress dotted with flowers on your head, and pinned a small broach on your collar as a finishing touch. "Hiccup will have the other broach," she told you quietly as you ran your fingers over it. "And of course you'll wear the ceremonial swords as well, and Hiccup the axe."
        "T- thank you Laura." You took her hand and held it tightly. Her face turned red at your praise, and she bowed her head.
        "I'm only doing my job milady," she assured you.
        "Can Hiccup see?"
        "W- well, the thing is, h- he's not supposed to see you before the wedding-"
        "Please?" You asked again, looking pleadingly up at her.
        "I- if you insist milady, I'll go get him."
        "Thank you Laura!" You exclaimed. She smiled in acknowledgement and took off down the hall. You stood up, pushing your chair back, playing with your golden broach as you went.
        "(Y/N)?" You turned to see Hiccup, staring at you in complete awe.
        "Hiccup."
        Ok, so this wasn't the most important chapter, but believe me, I have some big things planned!~ Bella
