Chapter 1

"Hiccup!" You called, running over to him. He picked you up, twirling you around before setting you down again.
"Hey beautiful,"he greeted, smirking. You smiled sweetly at him.
"How was the war meeting?" You asked, messaging his shoulders. He sighed loudly. "Wow, that bad huh?" He sighed again. You smacked him. "Oh! Stop your whining you big baby. Come on, let's go down to the beach!" You dragged him from the room, through the halls, and out into the early morning light.
"(Y/N)! I  was up all night!" He exclaimed, covering his eyes. You removed his hand, pushing them to his sides.
"Please? For me?" Your pecked him on the cheek, stepping back.
"Fine," he grumbled. "Just this once."
"Yay!" You pulled him by the wrist, leading the way to a little clearing. "Come on!" You sat down. "Sit!"You ordered, patting the ground next to you. Hiccup hesitated, before taking a seat next to you.
"Why are we here?" He asked you, yawning. You raised your arms in the air, stretching, and lay your head in his lap.
"This is where you proposed to me, remember?"
"Oh yeah!" You glared at him, and he swallowed. "I mean... of course I remember!"
"Right," you muttered. "Anyway, I always come here to calm my nerves, and you my friend seem very tense."
"Oh, so now I'm only a friend?" He pretended to pout, and you smacked his arm.
"Stop being such a big baby!"
"This is why I love you," he muttered sarcastically.
"So," you started, "anything on your mind?"
        "How... did you know?"
        "I have my ways..."
"Astrid ratted me out didn't she?"
"I promised not to reveal their identity..."
        "Right," he said, sounding unconvinced.
"Well? What is it?" You poked him impatiently.
"Okay, well, some trackers have discovered a new island, and it's pretty big. I was going to lead a team to explore it, so I'm going to be gone for a few weeks... or longer."
"Who's going to be in charge while we're gone?" You asked.
"I'm putting your father in charge... wait, you said we..."
        "I'm obviously going with you-"
        "You can't!"
"Hiccup, I'm not leaving you on your own! Come on! Please?" You gave him your saddest eyes. He sighed angrily.
"I just can't win an argument with you can I?"
        "Nope!"
"Alright, well, I guess there's no stopping you. We leave early tomorrow."
"Right!" You sat up, turning to face him. "Tomorrow." He rolled his eyes, getting up, and holding his hand out to you. You took it, standing up and brushing yourself off. "Let's go Hiccup!" You turned towards the house, walking along the path.
"Hey! Wait up!" Hiccup called to you, running to catch up. You grabbed his hand, swinging it back and forth childishly.
You walked into the village, past shops and markets. Children ran past you, giggling. One ran right into you, immediately stepping back with a look of horror.
"I'm so sorry ma'am!"  You smiled, patting his head.
"Hey, don't worry about it!" He smiled, running off his friends. You were engaged to the chief, and as a result, giving you a certain level of authority.
"Ma'am huh?" Hiccup teased. You shoved him.
        "Oh shut up!"
