Unity Day. Two words that had absolute no meaning to Loxy. To her, it was just another day to drink moonshine and celebrate. From the looks of it, everyone was taking that approach to it as well.
Night had fallen as she stalked through the camp, observing all the drunken people lumbering around. Jasper seemed to have it the worst, as he ran around wildly without any control.
She let out a short laugh when her eyes spotted Bellamy. He was in the corner of camp, munching on an apple and observing the activity in front of him.
"Hey," she called to him, walking to stand next to him. It took all her effort not to laugh at him.
"Best. Unity Day. Ever." His eyes narrowed when he realized she was holding back laughter. "What?"
"Everyone in camp is almost too drunk to walk and you're sitting here eating an apple," she finally said before laughing, clutching her stomach.
Bellamy joined in, taking another bite of his apple. "My Unity Day customs don't really involve alcohol," he admitted with a mouthful of apple. "What about you?"
Loxy pretended to think about it for a moment. "Well, if I'm lucky, I get to have only four tests run on me instead of eight," she hissed, her voice much harsher than she intended.
"I'm sorry," Bellamy whispered, grabbing her hand and placing their interlocked fingers against his thigh.
"It's okay now," she smiled. "Jaha told me they weren't going to run anymore tests when they come down."
"Good," Bellamy grunted, taking an angry bite out of the apple. "You don't deserve anymore of it. I can see your past has ruined you more than you admit."
"Last night," she murmured, understanding he was referring to her panic attack. "What did you see? While you were hallucinating?"
Bellamy rested his chin on her head. "I never told you this, but the day you were taken, I killed three hundred people. Once I realized what destroying the radio actually did, I went to get it back."
"But it was too late," she mumbled, nodding slowly.
"I threw it in a stream. We tried using flares, but they must've missed them. Three hundred bodies returned to the ground. I saw their faces as well as Jaha's when I was under hallucination." He explained in depth before pulling away.
The sadness in his voice made Loxy's heart shatter. "You wanna know what I saw?" She asked, meeting his gaze which was full of pain. "I saw Wells, Atom, and Charlotte. Those five guards I killed. And then I began to see people I loved who were still alive. Including you," her voice trembled as she went on.
"It's okay, you don't have to tell me," Bellamy coaxed her, pulling her into a hug.
After a moment of relaxed silence, she pulled away with a shake of her head. "I want you to know. All the people I saw kept begging me for help. Telling me that 'she' was coming to kill them."
By now the two of them had sunk to the ground, hidden by the foliage around them.
"I watched as several images of myself came out. And they were right. I killed all of them."
Bellamy tossed his apple aside carelessly, using both of his hands to cradle hers. His intense brown eyes looked into her blue ones. "That's not who you are, Loxy Monroe. You saved me last night. You tried to save Charlotte and you saved Atom from a painful death. Wells knew how much you loved him and wouldn't want you to blame yourself." The words he spoke to her was filled with so much love it made her shudder.
"What about Dax? The five guards I killed?"
"You had to do what you had to do. Dax could've killed both of us last night. And you were scared on the Ark. If I was in your situation I would've killed fifty guards." Bellamy fell quiet, wrapping an arm around her and pressing her to his chest.
"I understand I can't convince you to stop blaming yourself. But I want you to know that I will never consider you a murderer. You are so much more than that to me," his whispered into her hair.
She felt his warm lips brush against her forehead. "Bellamy Blake," she said, sitting up and looking deeply into his eyes. Her words were caught in her throat, and it took all her might to force them out.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."

"I need to talk to you two," Clarke mumbled, blocking Bellamy and Loxy's path. They were heading towards the exit of camp, desperate to just spend some time alone.
"Having fun yet, Princess?" Bellamy asked, a hint of annoyance in his raspy voice.
Clarke shook her head. "I'm serious."
"You always are, Clarke," Loxy told her with a dry laugh. "So talk."
"Finn set up a meeting with the Grounders," she announced, firelight dancing through her blonde locks. "I'm leaving to go talk to them."
"You think impaling people with spears on spot is code for: let's be friends?" Bellamy spat, irritation visible on his face. "Have you lost your damn mind?"
Loxy rested her hand on his shoulder, a sign telling him to keep it cool. She turned to her best friend with gentle eyes. "It's not safe, Clarke. If anything, they're setting us up."
"I think it's a worth a shot," she murmured back defensively. "After all, we do have to live with these people."
"They'll probably gut you," Bellamy growled. "String you up as a warning." Something about the way he glowered at Clarke, it wasn't out of anger. It was out of disappointment. And his tone revealed the truth.
He felt the need to protect Clarke, which perturbed Loxy.
"That's why I'm here," she muttered, lowering her voice. "I need you to be our backup."
"Does Finn know about this?" Loxy intervened, her eyes finding their way to Spacewalker. He was sitting by the fire, looking lost and distant.
"Finn doesn't need to know," Clarke responded with a simple shake of her head.
"Do we get to bring guns?" Loxy asked while throwing a smirk at Bellamy. "I'll be able to show off my badass skills again for you."
"Yes, but, you won't be with him," Clarke whispered. "The Grounders see you as a leader. They want you on the bridge with me."
"Like hell they do," Bellamy snarled, becoming extremely protective as he spread his arm across Loxy. "You told her right?" He asked, looking over his shoulder.
Loxy nodded whilst swallowing the lump in her throat. "She knew already."
"The first time they took her was because of her power. They've seen her use it, and they want it. I'm sure this time isn't any different," Bellamy explained with furious eyes.
"I'm sorry, Bellamy. But in order for this work and for us to have a chance at peace...she's gotta come with me," Clarke mumbled, her blue eyes settling on Loxy.
"It'll be fine, Amy," Loxy spoke nonchalantly, patting his shoulder. "I'm capable of taking care of myself, aren't I?"
Bellamy opened his mouth to argue but clamped it shut again. His jaw clenched and unclenched rapidly as he looked for a decision. "Okay," he finally caved. "But you remember that'll I be there."
"Of course," Loxy smiled whilst giving his hand a taut squeeze. "Wouldn't want it any other way."

"I'd love to think you were right about this, Spacewalker," Loxy uttered whilst running up to Finn's side, "but didn't you ever consider this a trap?"
"Yep!" Finn chirped back. "But since it's Unity Day, I'd rather have hope instead." He winced and clutched his chest suddenly, a pained look on his face.
"Ooh," Clarke grimaced. "Let me have a look at that," she demanded, gesturing for Finn to show the wound.
He lifted up them hem of his shirt, revealing his cut. It had turned a yellowish brown and the skin around it had become a sickening shade of purple.
As Clarke placed her hand on his chest, Finn began to stiffen. They stared deeply into each other's eyes for a moment. Biting her lip awkwardly, Loxy decided to cut the eye sex short.
"You're putting a lot of faith in a guy who stuck a knife in you," she pointed out to him as they began walking again.
"Geez, you're starting to sound more like Bellamy," Finn teased, leaning in. "Red."
"Find your own nickname," she growled back. "I've had enough of people naming me after some fantasy girl who couldn't deliver her grandmother cake in time."
"Don't forget she also had wine on her," Finn added with a devious smirk. "It's good to know I'm not the only one who liked to stick their nose in a book for some time."
"It was the only thing that kept me occupied sometimes," Loxy replied, keeping her words vague. She didn't want Finn to find out about her. Bellamy and Clarke were the only ones she could really trust. Which is why she despised the idea that the Grounders knew.
Daylight had already broke once they finally arrived at the bridge. Octavia was pacing on it, looking ready for a fight.
"So that's how you set it up," Clarke hissed, acknowledging Octavia's presence. "You helped him escape, didn't you?"
"I trust him, Clarke," she fired back with a scowl.
"I do too, but I don't trust the people that cut me open on almost every part of my body," Loxy found her own cold voice challenging Octavia.
"Someone's coming," Finn grumbled, his eyes suddenly very alert.
It was the Grounder who had saved Loxy and Octavia, and he was running straight to her. The two embraced, looking relieved to see each other.
Loxy's eyes strayed away from the sight for a moment, finding a freckled face in the bushes below them. He was accompanied by Raven and Jasper, all three of them holding guns. Despite him being just a few feet away from her, it seemed like miles.
"Loxy," a husky voice muttered. The Grounder's eyes were set on her, his expression hardened.
She stepped forward, a forced smile spreading on her lips. "Since you know my name, it's only fair I know yours."
"Lincoln," he answered. "Be careful with your words. They're interested in you." His warning sent chills down her spine.
"Just as I thought," she finally spoke, nodding. "I'll be fine." She backed up several paces to stand next to Clarke again, who now conspicuous held Finn's hand. Raven isn't enjoying this, I bet.
The pattering of hooves caused all heads to turn to the end of the bridge. Two jet black creatures padded onto the bridge, a single Grounder on each of their backs.
"Horses," Loxy breathed in awe.
The third horse strode up, and anxiety immediately flared in her chest. Anya was riding it, her eyes looking more sinister and dark than before. She climbed off and began strolling to the middle of the bridge.
"They have weapons," Loxy uttered, her eyes looking first at Finn and then Lincoln.
"I was told there wouldn't be any," he snarled, his broad shoulders hanging with disappointment.
"C'mon," Finn urged Clarke forward, and Clarke beckoned Loxy with her.
"No," Lincoln groaned as he shoved Finn back and out of Clarke's grasp. "They go alone."
"It's time to do better," Loxy declared as she turned away from the group and back to Anya's fearsome gaze. "You should probably do most of the talking. You always had a way with words," she muttered to Clarke before they stood to face the Grounder queen.
"Your name is Clarke?" Anya asked her friend with narrowed eyes. After her nod, she introduced herself, "I'm Anya. It's good to see you again, Loxy."
Loxy just nodded, feeling all words caught in her throat.
"I believe we got off on a rough start. We want to find a way to live together, in peace." Clarke attempted to reason.
"I understand. You started a war you can't finish," Anya spoke accusingly, keeping her voice steady.
"Start a war? No! You attacked us," Clarke answered, her voice already rising in volume.
"Your missiles burned a whole village to the ground. That was a direct attack and a threat of war," Anya hissed.
"The flares? Those were a signal to our people. To tell them that they can come down with us." Clarke stressed.
"Your people may break the terms we would agree on in this moment. Your ship landed in our territory. From the very start, you've been invaders. I will not discuss an alliance that will eventually be broken!" She yelled, her voice echoing around the rails of the bridge.
Before she could react, pain exploded in Loxy's shoulder as something sharp pierced through her jacket and into her skin. An arrow was lodged in her shoulder, barely missing her neck. She collapsed, pain spreading through her like a raging fire.
"No!" Bellamy's scream was the first to crackle through the air before the shooting began.
"Grab her!" Anya commanded, storming back to her men. "We're not letting her go this time."
"Get away from me!" Loxy yelled, but before she could exert energy on the two Grounders, a sharp prick was felt in her neck. "Bastard," she grumbled as she watched him draw away with a syringe. The very same syringe used before to prevent her from having enough energy to use her powers.
The last thing Loxy heard before she was pulled away by Grounders and sank into the darkness was Bellamy calling her name. His voice was full of desperation and guilt. He would blame himself for this, especially if she died.
Loxy knew that whatever they did to her, she would overcome it. She did a first time, and could survive a second round.
They can't kill me, but they sure as hell can try.
For the first time in all twenty years of her life, Loxy had a reason to stay alive.
And it was the only boy left who knew all about her, yet still loved her.
