Thirty

Virgil POV
The world formed around the eight of us again.  And no we were standing in imagination.  I looked around at the startling brightness of the field around us.

Corruption was standing on a large rock, looking down at us.  I stood up and walked over to Roman.  I hugged him tightly, burying my face in his chest.  Roman wrapped one arm protectively around me and kept his sword ready in the other.

Remy picked Picani up and than pulled Picani into a protective embrace while glaring at Corruption.  Logan helped Patton to his feet, which led to Patton literally clinging onto Logan's arm.  Deceit and Doubt were still unconscious.

"I t-think it's time V-Virgil."  Said Corruption, holding his hand out to me.  "C-come here so we can f-free the o-others."

"No."  I muttered, still finding it difficult to talk.  Once I talked, another wave of pain went through my skull.  I whimpered and my legs staring giving out on me.  Roman moved his arm to around my waist, trying to keep me from collapsing.

"I s-said, come h-here."  Corruption hissed.  He snapped his fingers and I went flying out of Roman's arm.  I slammed into the rock.

I groaned as the world spun around me.  I collapsed, feeling extremely sick to my stomach.  My head was throbbing.

I felt my body slowly floating upwards.  I opened my eyes, to see I was floating a good five feet off the ground.  I was about a food from Corruption.

In his hand a a jagged black lighting bolt.  Fear started rising in me.  I can't let them get free.  The bolt would turn me back to Depression.  I can't let that happen.

Before I could struggle or say anything, Corruption jammed the bolt right into my heart.

I screamed and convulsed around the bolt.  It was shocking me horribly.  I screamed out, feeling hot tears falling down my cheeks.   The pain was unbearable.  I slowly felt myself changing back into Depression.

Slowly, all the fear drained out of me to be replaced with a horrible, depressed feeling.

Roman POV
I felt my heart breaking for Virgil when Corruption stabbed the bolt of black lighting into Virgil's chest.

"No."  I whimpered.  Virgil was screaming out in pain and his body was shaking horribly.  Than as suddenly as it started, it stopped.

The bolt seemed to seep into Virgil's chest.  And than he started fell back to the ground.

"Virgil?"  I asked cautiously.  He glowed brightly for a second and than he was back in his original outfit.  The black hoodie...no more purple.

"W-welcome back Depression."  Said Corruption calmly.  Slowly, Virgil pushed himself upwards.  Corruption smiled down nicely at Virgil.

Virgil stood up, seeming to not be in any pain anymore.  Than he turned towards the rest of us.  I flinched and took a step back.

His eyes were pitch black.  No brown or white.  Just black pools.  His eyeshadow was streaked down his face like he was crying.  He seemed even paler.

He raised on of his arms and pulled down the sleeves.  Every single cut and scar was visible.  Some were still relentlessly bleeding.  He quickly put the sleeve back down.

"W-will you free the d-dark side's now?"  Asked Corruption.

"Yes."  Said Virgil, his voice sounded...demonic almost.  (How his voice sounded in the Moving On videos when he started to get anxious)

He raised his hands and a small black orb appeared between them.  The orb started glowing a dark horrible shade of green and started growing bigger.

The orb floated over towards the right side of Corruption.  It grew until it was roughly the size of a person.

Than the orb popped and in its place stood a person...that I didn't want to see at all.

"W-welcome Remus."  Said Corruption with a smirk.  There he was. After years of not seeing each other, I was face to face with my brother again. Remus looked at me, a crazed look in his eyes. He waved over at me but did say anything.

Virgil started working on another orb.  This one was glowing dark blue and white.  This time it floated over to the left side of Corruption.

"Welcome I-Ignorance."  Said Corruption when the orb popped.  Ignorance was wearing ripped up black jeans and a ripped black dress shirt.  He had a white tie with little blue eyes drawing crossed out with jagged X's.  He had a large white lad coat that was ripped up on the bottom and splattered with blood.  He had glasses, but they were resting on the tip of his nose.  He had eyeshadow around his eyes and his hair was an absolute mess but with white strips of hair through the brown.

Virgil collapsed onto his hands and knees.  He was breathing raggedly.

"Almost 15 years spent locked into that place."  Said Remus.  "Really makes you angry.  Wouldn't it Depression?"

"Long time no see."  Hissed Ignorance, walking over to him.  "But I'm afraid there will be no forgiving and forgetting for what you did."

"N-Now Ignorance...D-Depression is still o-one of us."  Said Corruption in a sickly sweet voice.

"Tell me your kidding me."  Growled Remus. "He betrayed all of us!  He locked us away to help...Thomas.

"Y-Yes I'm afraid t-that Depression d-does have T-Thomas's best in-interests at h-heart."  Said Corruption.  He stood deep in thought for a few seconds.

"Let us kill him."  Hissed Remus with an evil smile.  "It'll break Princey over there."  He pointed at me.

"G-Good point."  Murmured Corruption.  Slowly, his frown turned into a smirk.

"Depression, Morality, And Empathy."  Said Corruption slowly.  "A-All three of you, u-up here n-now."  He snapped his fingers.

Virgil slowly pushed himself upwards and walked over to the rock Corruption was standing on.  Picani went flying out of Remy's arms and smacked into the rock next to Virgil.

Remy's face had a look of horror.  Patton and Logan were clinging to each other.   Logan wasn't strong enough to hold onto Patton against the spell Corruption had used.

"Logan!"  Yelped Patton when he went flying out of Logan's arms, leaning on top of Picani.

"Any-anyways...we d-don't need e-emotions anymore."  Said Corruption.  "Roman, I'm g-going to need you t-t-to be more l-like your b-brother. Or j-just give h-him f-full c-creative control."

"What?"  I whispered, horrified at the thought. I don't do murder.  I'm not going create different ways to murder people.  And I am most certainly not going to give Remus all of my creative control.

"I k-knew that y-you wouldn't be a-able to do it yourself,"  Corruption explained.  "S-So we'll j-just k-kill the one p-person you care m-more about than you-yourself."  Virgil and I made eye contact.  I couldn't sense any emotions in his eyes.

"No..."  I mumbled.  Before I could say anything else, Corruption cut me off.

"And we cant h-have T-Thomas sleeping, t-that helps k-keep him healthy a-and in a good m-mental state."  Corruption said while turning to Remy.  "So I t-think it's time to t-through off the s-sleep schedule, so you'll be l-loosing the p-person that you l-love and keeps you in c-check."

"And let's not f-forget Logic.  We c-can't have T-Thomas think-thinking logically.  So we will h-have to get r-rid of the o-one person that g-gives you emotions."  Corruption said with an evil smile.

"A-Also we c-can't have T-Thomas being a-able to know what's r-right and w-wrong, so n-no more m-morality."  Hissed Corruption while looking at Patton.  "And T-Thomas can't be show-showing empathy f-for other p-people anymore, s-so no more empathy and s-sympathy."

"Can we kill them now."  Hissed Remus.  "I really want to tear Depression to shreds in front of my brother."

"No, I'd r-rather have t-them go in-insane and kill themselves."  Said Corruption.

"What?"  Said Ignorance angrily.  Corruption ignored them.

"You f-five,"  Corruption said while pointing at me, Logan, Remy, Deceit And Doubt.  "Have t-two hours to save your-yourselves and t-these three."

"What?"  I asked him, feeling extremely confused.  Corruption smirked and snapped his fingers.  Remus and Ignorance appeared on the rock next to him and the rock started floating upwards into the sky.

The ground started shaking.  I looked over at Logan, only to have my confused face echoed on his.  Deceit and Doubt were still unconscious.  Remy just stood there, staring at Picani.  Patton and Picani were clinging to each other in fear.  Virgil had curled in on himself and was shaking.

Suddenly, a tall hedge shot up from the ground between Virgil and Patton.  Than more appeared slowly after.  I turned towards Logan and Remy, only to watch as more giant hedge walls formed between the three of us.

Within seconds I was by myself...in a giant hedge maze.
