Sixty Four
TRIGGER WARNING : swearing, Glitch Bitch
Logan POV
I typed away at my computer, researching symptoms and medications for insanity. Patton was pressed against my side, watching Disney's Christopher Robin.
We were sitting together on one end of the couch. Deceit on the other end and Remy sitting in the corner. Both Remy and Deceit were having mental breakdowns about loosing their boyfriends. Patton decided to put on a nice movie and stick together until I figured out what to do.
Roman still has failed to return from wherever he stormed off to this afternoon. The sun was starting to set, which was worrying. Where did Roman go? What stupid mess did he get himself into during his fit of rage at Corruption?
Anyways, Corruption had mentioned something very interesting last time we saw him. That Thomas, his host, was the only one out of us that could destroy him.
Corruption represented Insanity, or madness. Which meant, he was a type of mental disorder. Even if everyone is born with Madness but a few times it can develop into true Insanity, which makes it a mental disorder.
I made a connection with Corruption to Virgil. Virgil is Anxiety, another mental disorder. Disorders can be stopped or a least dulled with medication or hospitalization. I would hope Corruption isn't bad enough for Thomas to be put in a hospital.
But when Thomas was on anti-anxiety medication, it destroyed Virgil. Causing him bruises, headaches, and lightheadedness. My hypothesis is that if Thomas had taken any more pills, it would have caused Virgil to die. My theory was proven by the video on the orb.
Virgil took anti-anxiety pills, and it killed him. If he had been left any longer like that, he most likely would have faded.
Would Corruption be killed if Thomas took a type of antipsychotic medication?
A knock at the front door caused me to be jolted from my thoughts. We all looked over at the door with only one thought on our minds; who could possibly be knocking on the door this late into the evening?
Patton paused the movie and stood up from the couch. I grabbed his hand and pulled him back on the couch.
"I'll see who it is." I said, moving my laptop off my lap. I stood up and headed over to the front door. Logically, there is no way it could be Corruption. If he wanted to talk to us, he wouldn't do it in such a normal manor. And Roman wouldn't have knocked, he would've marched right in.
So who's knocking on the door than?
I took a deep breath and opened the door. A little bit of surprise filled me when I saw someone I did not recognize at all, carrying an unconscious Roman.
"Hello, this is the Light Sides house, correct?" The newcomer asked. He had black hair, bright blue eyes, and old fashioned glasses. He was tall but not very muscular. He was wearing old fashioned clothes, much like that of the 14th century. His skin was lightly tanned, most likely from being out in the sun.
"Yes, this is where the Light Sides reside." I answered. "Who are you and what is wrong with Roman?"
"Oh, right, of course, my apologies." He said. "My name is Luther Isidore, I'm Prince Roman's Royal Advisor, from the Kingdom of Dreams."
"I see." I said. "I was unaware that Roman ruled over a kingdom."
"Yes, we reside in the Imagination but we only exist when he wants us to." Luther explained.
"So that's why you look nothing like Thomas." I mumbled, mostly to myself.
"Oh my goodness, Roman!" Yelled Patton voice, running up behind me. "What happened to him?!"
"His royal idiotness, don't tell him I said that, decided to go and take his anger out on a dark mage." Luther said with a sigh. "Despite how idiotic I told him it was, he still tried to take on the more powerful and feared dark mage in the kingdom. His name strikes fear into the heart of every villager there."
"What's his name?" Patton asked, completely in awe.
"Steve." Luther answered lowly, his eyes wide in fear.
"Oh." Patton said before bursting into laughter.
"Luther, please bring Roman in and sit him on the couch." I told him. Luther nodded and walked into the house.
Remy and Deceit watched but otherwise didn't say anything about Roman or Luther. Luther set Roman down on the couch before turning to me.
"Prince Roman took a nasty hit to the head, which knocked him out, he should be up in a few hours. He always is." Luther told me.
"Thank you for returning him to us Luther." I thanked him.
"You're welcome." He said respectfully. "If that is all, I will be returning to the Kingdom."
"Of course," I said. "Thank you again."
"Farewell." Luther said before turning and exiting the house.
I let out a sigh and rubbed the bridge of my nose. Of course Roman went and did something reckless and got himself hurt.
~the next day~
Patton POV
I stirred the pot full of chicken noddle soup sitting on the stove. Roman had finally woken up this morning. He then spent the next hour sobbing into my shoulder about Virgil.
Logan said he'll be fine, just he needs to get some food and water into him. Once Roman gets enough rest, he'll be fine.
I grabbed a few crackers out of the cupboard. I grabbed a tray and set the crackers onto the tray. I poured a glass of water.
I smiled down at the tray, proud of myself. Once Roman's better, we'll be able to start our plan to rescue Virgil, Quinn and Emile. Logan thinks he knows how to make Corruption fade, but we'll need Roman's help.
Deceit's been hiding in his room, but I've made sure he's been eating and not hurting himself. Remy's just been passed out on the couch, crying himself into exhaustion.
A weird tingling feeling went down my neck and back. Than the air smelled like electricity.
I turned around quickly, afraid something was burning, but there was nothing. I shrugged and turned back to the soup.
I grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard and set it next to the stove. I poured some of the soup into the bowl. Then again, I felt a strange tingling feeling go down my back. It kinda felt like getting a static shock. I picked up the bowl and soup and turned around to the tray.
I screamed and dropped the bowl of soup upon seeing Corruption right there in front of me, with an evil smirk on his face. The bowl shattered and I screamed again.
Corruption reached out and grabbed the sides of my head. Instantly, he shocked me horribly.
My legs gave out under me because of the immense pain I was feeling. I looked up at Corruption right before the world went black.
Logan POV
I heard Patton scream from downstairs. Roman and I shared a look before rushing out of his room. Roman stumbled a bit but managed to keep up with me.
I ran down the stairs and past Remy, who was still somehow passed out on the couch. Patton was standing in the kitchen with a blank look on his face.
"Patton, what's wrong?" I asked, grabbing his shoulders. "Why'd you scream?"
"Sorry." He mumbled, shaking his head a bit. He looked up at me again, but all the sudden his eyes were completely blood shot.
"I accidentally dropped the bowl of soup for Roman." Patton explained looking down at the shattered bowl and spilled soup at his feet. "It was too hot when I picked it up."
"Oh okay." I said, waiting for the adrenaline to pass. Patton had pulled away from me and was heading towards the living room. "I just heard you scream and through the worst."
He stopped when he heard me say that and turned his head to look at me.
"I'm perfectly fine Logan." Patton said, with a Cheshire grin across his face.

And if you're still breathing
You're the lucky ones
Cause most of us are heaving through corrupted lungs
And if you're still bleeding
You're the lucky ones
Cause most of us
Our feelings
They are dead and they are gone
