TRIGGER WARNING : talks about some of the torture Evan went through, blood, gore, sAdNeSs aNd aNgSt, swearing, derogatory terms

Virgil POV
I looked down at Evan, still curled up in my arms.  My arms are staring to get tired from carrying him but I think we both know he can barely support his own weight right now.

Are the wounds on his back really that bad though?  He seem weaker than he should be.  And I know he's been through a lot and hasn't eaten in like four days, but this seems excessive.

Maybe that's just me being paranoid.  But something seems off with Evan's injuries.

"I can try to walk if you're getting tired,"  Evan mumbled, not opening his eyes.

"I'll be fine,"  I grunted.  "You're tiny and don't weigh much.  I can carry you."

"But your leg,"  He said, now opening his eyes to look at me.  They were glossed over with pain but I could still see that little bit of hope in them.

"I can rest once everyone is home and safe,"  I told him.  "My leg will be fine."

"You're limping."

"I've been limping ever since Corruption broke my leg,"  I said.  "I'm used to the limp now.  I can't magically make it go away.  It just healed wrong and there's nothing I can do about it."

"But carrying me around can't be good for it,"  Evan argued.

"You really are too nice for your own good,"  I said with a laugh.

"What do you mean?"

"Here you are bleeding out, with a smashed hand, and deep cuts down your back,"  I explained.  "Yet you're worried about me and my health because of my slight limp."

"Force of habit, I guess."  Evan mumbled, his eyes closing briefly.

"Have you gotten much sleep?"  I asked.

"Not really,"  He mumbled.  "I was too scared of what would happen if it did.  Besides, I was seizing way too much to function half the time I was there."

"You get seizures?"  I asked, confusion filling me.

"Remus didn't tell you?"

"He mentioned something but said it wasn't his business to tell me, I'm guessing this is it."  I answered.

"Oh, well, since I represent Innocence,"  Evan started.  "I can get seizures whenever Thomas does something inappropriate.  Sometimes I just get headaches, sometimes I twitch, sometimes I seize.  I recently discovered that I will seize if someone try's to force themselves on me.  My theory is because I don't want it, which makes my body just complete unable to handle it, which gives me seizures."

"I'm sorry,"  I mumbled.

"It's okay,"  He told me.  "I'm used to them now."

I was about to respond but than I noticed something in front of me that brought a smile to my face.  The light mindpalace.

"Look,"  I told him.  "We're almost home."

"Is that the light mindpalace?"  Evan asked, twisting his head to look.  "I've never seen it or been to it before."

"Yeah that's it's and you should probably get used to staying there,"  I told him with a laugh.  "Remus has been going bat-shit crazy without you and I don't think he'll let you out of his sight for like the next week."

"I don't have any issues with that,"  Evan giggled like a school girl with a crush.

I don't think I'll ever understand how Evan, the most pure, sweet, innocent person I've ever met, fell in love with some like Remus.

We were still a good ways away from the house, but I could clearly see people rushing out of the house.

I could see Roman and Remus in the front, Patton, Logan, Quinn and Dee gathering behind them.  Hell, even Remy and Emile were there.  Oh, and I see Thomas up there too.

"Looks like everyone's here to welcome you back,"  I told him with a smirk.  Evan smiled and then started trying to get out of my arms.

"Hey, what are you doing?"  I asked him.  "You gotta be careful, you're gonna hurt yourself."

"Don't care,"  He mumbled, successfully wiggling out of my grasp.  "I need Remus."

I sighed but let him wobble forwards, still cradling his shattered hand against his chest.  But than he picked up the skirts of his dress and started running.

How the hell is he able to run in the state he's in?

Remus broke away from everyone and came running towards Evan.  It probably looked liked some picturesque Disney movie scene.

Evan running to Remus, his long pink dress billowing out behind him.  The sun barely over the horizon, glowing brightly behind him.

Evan and Remus slammed into each other, instantly hugging tightly.  I caught up with him, watching as Remus held Evan close, peppering his face with kisses.

I walked over to Roman and leaned against him.  Roman pulled me into a tight hug scolding me for going back to Corruption's domain but also thanking me for bringing Evan home.

Remus POV
Evan's back. Evan's back. This is it. This is real. Evan is actually back. He's here, in my arms, right now.

I kept pressing kisses all over his face, making his giggle a little bit. Then I noticed how much he was leaning on me.

I ran a hand down his back, noticing how much he flinched. One look as the blood soaked through the fabric on the back of his dress, told me that his back had been seriously wounded. I moved my grip on him so that my arms wouldn't bump his back.

Then I noticed that Evan has one arm around my neck, leaving his other dangling at his side. I reached for his hand, only for him to pull it away.

I gently grabbed his hand and looked at it. Anger coursed through me instantly. Pure hot rage.

Evan's hand was completely destroyed. All bloodied and mangled, the bone sticking out in some places.

"What did he do to you?" I growled, trying my best to control my anger so that I wouldn't hurt Evan.

"A lot," Evan mumbled in response. "I'll tell you everything later."

"C'mon, lets get you fixed up," I told him, sweeping him up into my arms. I quickly headed over to Logan, giving him a pleading look.

"Help him," I told Logan forcefully.

"Let's go back inside, and than I'll assess the damage and see what I can do." Logan told us, leading the way inside.

I followed Logan quickly into the house, everyone coming in after me. I laid Evan gently down on his stomach, on the couch. I sat up by his head, holding his non-destroyed hand comfortingly.

Logan started gathering things that he would need. Evan moved and bit and turned so that he could face me.

"Remus," He mumbled, getting most everyone's attention.

"Yes Buttercup?" I asked gently, hyper aware that everyone was seeing the soft side of me, but not caring because Evan was in pain and he needed me.

"Whats a whore?" He asked, slightly shocking me. My reaction only made the sadness in his eyes grow.

"Why do you want to know?" I asked him, not wanting to answer the question. I swear to fucking Satan...what did Corruption do to him?

"Corruption kept calling me an ugly whore that no one will ever love," Evan mumbled. My eye twitched in anger. "I just want to know what it means."

"I means nothing," I seethed, becoming extremely angry with Corruption. I took a deep breath, trying to control myself. "You don't need to know what that is, and you most definitely are not one."

Evan didn't say anything. Logan came over and stood next to us. Evan raised his damaged hand up to Logan, who examined it carefully.

He then asked Emile for gauze and a splint. Logan started methodically wrapping Evan's hand into a cast.

"Will I be able to play any instruments anymore?" Evan asked, his gaze full of sadness and fear. Than it hit me. The one thing that makes Evan really happy is his music. But now his hand has been broken.

Logan hesitated with his answer, having to ponder it. I think we all already knew the answer though.

"If I'm being brutally honest, I don't think you'll be able to play again," Logan told him. Instantly I jumped up from my spot on my couch and was shoving Logan away from Evan.

"Don't just fucking say that to him!" I yelled at him. "Fix him!"

"If you would let me finished my statement," Logan said lowly, glaring at me with an emotionless expression. "If we are being hopeful, he could possibly learn again. But it will probably be extremely difficult considering that the majority of the bones in his hand have been shattered."

I sat back down on the couch, holding Evan's good hand.  I glared at everyone in the room, daring them to say anything negative about this.

"I need to attend to the wounds on your back Evan, is that okay?"  Logan asked him.

"Yeah,"  Evan mumbled, looking up at me.  I summoned a knife and cut open the back of his dress.

We all gasped at the state Evan's back was in.  All down his back and sides were deep, bloody, gruesome, jagged cuts.  Large cuts that will leave scars.

But what got everyone attention was one big scar going down alone his spine.  The wound was black and relentlessly bleeding.  Tiny black veins were emitting from the wound, just underneath his skin.

The parasite.
