One Hundred & Fifty Nine
I'm sorry, I'm a selfish bitch
I know it's wishful thinking for Thomas to read my read my shitty book
It's just my dream, my Christmas wish if you want to call it that
I don't want to ask you guys to send my book to Thomas, that's selfish, but I have no way to get my book to Thomas
Hell, he doesn't even have to read it
I just want him to know it exists, to know the time and effort and thought I've put into it, to know how much he inspired me
I wrote a crappy book and got lucky but that won't last long
How long until everyone forgets me
I just want to have an impact, I don't want to be forgotten
I'm sorry
TRIGGER WARNING :
Logan POV
"Is Wylan feeling better?" Roman asked Virgil, looking into the kitchen were I was working furiously to put Wylan back together.
Roman probably thought he was being quiet enough or that the sound of the tv would drown out his voice. But he is mistaken, I can hear him clearly.
"Yeah, he's getting better," Virgil answered. "It's really hard for him through."
"I feel bad for getting angry at him yesterday," Roman admitted softly.
"Don't blame yourself Ro," Virgil told him gently.
Roman just let out a long sigh and rested his head on Virgil's shoulder. Seeing them cuddling made me think of Patton.
And more so of the ring tucked safely away on my bookshelf. Sitting in my room, just collecting dust because of Corruption.
I want to propose to Patton. But Corruption is getting in the way of that. There's no safe time to ask him on a date to propose, much less have a wedding.
I glanced over to Patton. He was stress baking again. Three batches of chocolate chip cookies cooling on the counter.
He looked adorable. His tongue was sticking out slightly, his face scrunched up in concentration. Flour covered his forehead.
"Too tight," Wylan squeaked out, pulling away from where I was fixing his shoulder.
"Apologies," I mumbled, loosening the screw. I brought my thoughts back to fixing Wylan and not on Patton adorably making cookies just on the other side of the counter.
"How much longer?" Wylan asked.
"Well we'd be done if you hadn't tried to take out every piece of metal in your body," I grumbled, easily fixing the wiring in his shoulder.
"Sorry," Wylan whispered.
"Can you move your hand now?" I asked. Wylan raised his human arm easily and flexed his hand. He rolled the metal shoulder easily.
"Feels better," He mumbled, running his fingers over the metal shoulder.
"Other arm?" I asked. Wylan moved his metal arm easily. I nodded in satisfaction. "Leg?"
Wylan hopped off the table and walked around a bit. He flexed the leg and leaned on it a bit.
"It's good," Wylan told me. "Is that it?"
"One more thing," I told him. "Emile?"
No response. I turned back to the table to see that Emile had fallen asleep. His head was resting on his notepad.
"Emile?" I said, poking him with my pencil. He jumped up quickly.
"Huh?" Emile mumbled, squinting up at me.
"I need gauze to wrap Wylan's hand," I told him. "Also you need to go upstairs and sleep."
"I'm fine," Emile mumbled, pulling some gauze and bandages from the first aid kit.
"Take care of yourself!" Patton yelled from the kitchen, throwing a cookie at Emile. "I will sick Remy on you if you don't!"
"Okay," Emile laughed, brushing cookie crumbs out of his hair. He yawned and got up.
I turned back to Wylan while Emile walked upstairs to his and Remy's room. Remy is napping currently, hopefully Emile will join him.
Wylan handed me his hand. I wiped the blood off and then cleaned the cuts. I placed bandages over the deeper cuts before wrapping gauze around his entire hand.
"Rest," I told him.
"But you said-"
"I was wrong," I admitted grumpily with a sigh. "We all need to rest."
"I'm gonna need that in writing!" Roman yelled with a laugh from the couch.
"Going to," I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose in frustration.
Wylan smiles in thanks to me before turning away. He headed down to the basement. He stayed down there a lot, most likely because that's where Draven stayed.
I walked over to Patton in the kitchen. I wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my head on top of his.
"You're too tall," Patton complained with a giggle.
"You're just too short," I said with a smirk. Patton scoffed in mock offense.
"You're a meanie," He laughed, tossing flour into my face.
"Must you always do that?" I grumbled, moving to wipe the flour off my face and glasses.
"Yep," Patton giggled mischievously.
"Come along Patton," I said, pulling him from his baking. I turned off the oven and wiped the flour of his forehead.
"I'm baking!" Patton complained.
"You're stress baking," I corrected, pulling the apron off of him. "And you need a break. It is not healthy to focus on something so intently to distract yourself."
"And what am I supposed to do than?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"We can participate in a more passive past time," I told him. "Onesies and a movie."
"But my baking," Patton complained.
"Your mental health is more important," I said. I picked Patton up, holding him bridal style.
I carried him away from his baking and up to my bedroom. Roman wolf whistled when we passed by. I rolled my eyes while Patton and Virgil laughed.
I shut the door behind me, setting Patton down on the bed. I gently kissed him. He tasted like cookie batter.
"You've been eating uncooked cookie batter," I accused him with a smirk.
"Maybe," Patton admitted with a giggle.
I just sighed and walked over to the closet. I pulled out my unicorn onesie that I haven't worn in a while.
"What movie should we watch?" Patton asked.
"I have some movie DVDs on my bookshelf," I told him, pointing to them.
Patton jumped off the bed. Changing into lazy clothes and pulling on his cat onesie while doing so. He started going through DVDs while I changed into lazy clothes and pulling on my onesie.
"Whats this?" Patton mumbled. I turned to see him poking the compartment where I had hidden the ring in the shelf.
Panic shot through me and I quickly ran over to him. I slammed my hand over the compartment, right as it started to open. Patton jumped a bit in shock.
"Apologies Patton," I said gently.
"Whats in there?" He asked, looking more intently at the compartment.
"Nothing important," I lied. Patton stared at me for a bit.
Even though I am aware that it's absolutely absurd, I half expected Deceit to burst into the room and expose my lies.
"Why so protective of it then?" Patton asked.
"I understand we are in a close relationship," I started. "But I need some privacy, okay?"
"Suspicious," Patton whispered. He squinted his eyes at me and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
I laughed a bit at his adorableness.
"What movie do you want to watch?" I asked him.
"This," Patton said, holding out a documentary on polar bears. I took the DVD from his hand and ushered him back to our bed.
"I'm watching you mister," He told me, still squinting suspiciously at me.
"Okay Patton," I laughed. I started the movie and walked back to the bed with the remote.
I had barely sat down on the bed before Patton was pulling me down to climb into my lap. I laughed gently, leaning back again the headboard.
Patton just giggled a bit, righting himself in my lap. I rested my arms around his him, pressing his back against my chest. Patton leaned his head against my shoulder.
He smelled like cookies. I can't wait until I can propose to Patton and marry him. Then I'll be able to always have this, even when we're apart.
"I love you Patton," Slipped out before I could stop myself. Patton awed profusely, giving me a big kiss.
"Love you too Logan," He said with a huge smile, cuddling back up against me.
