TRIGGER WARNING : EXTREME GORE, blood, angst, DEATH, major character death

Virgil POV
There was nothing more relieving then seeing Remus, Deceit, Evan and Quinn arrive. It would've been a little less concerning if Remus was covered in blood and carrying an Evan that wasn't moving.

"Per-Perfect!" Screeched Corruption, an insane grin on his face.  "You f-four are just in t-time f-for th-the trail!"

"The what?"  Deceit asked, glancing over at us.

"I s-see Jealousy and Ignorance did-didn't succeed in th-their st-stupid plan,"  Corruption said in a disdainful voice.

I recoiled at the mention of Ignorance, Roman and Logan reacting similar.  As far as we knew, that dark side was dead.

"I'm g-guessing,"  Corruption started, motioning towards the blood covered Remus.  "Th-That they're d-dead?"

"They are and they deserve it,"  Remus growled.

"T-Tell me, did any p-part of their s-silly plan succeed?"  Corruption asked.  "D-Did Evan seize and sc-scream like they th-thought he would."

I slipped my hand into Roman's as it dawned on me what Corruption was implying.  Roman squeezes my hand in a gentle, protective manner.  My eyes darted back to Evan, trying to look for any signs.

"Tried didn't succeed,"  Deceit said, obviously trying to calm Remus who seemed to be shaking from how angry he was.  He looked rabid and insane.

Remus usually looks rabid and insane, but this was an angry version.  Not a Remus that I want to deal with.  He looked ready to rip off someone's head if they so much as looked at Evan in a wrong way.

Emile let out a soft gasp, his hand darting to Remy's.  Remy slipped an arm around Emile's waist.  Same with Logan and Patton. I held tighter to Roman as bad memories appeared in my mind.

"T-Too bad so s-sad,"  Corruption laughed.  "Would've b-been fun to s-see Innocence br-broken."

"Shut the hell up you sick fuck,"  Remus growled, looking like he was genuinely considering attacking Corruption.

"T-Takes one t-to know one Re-Remus,"  Corruption said with a smirk.  "Any-Anyways."

Without another word, Corruption shot a bolt of lighting at the four.  Deceit turned quickly, shielding Quinn from the sparking onslaught.

But instead of shocking them like expected, the lighting wrapped around them.  It tied them together, and moved them towards the cage of lighting the rest of us were in.

Corruption clapped his hands, sending the four of them flying into the lightening cage.  Deceit and Quinn landed heavily on the ground in a tangle of their legs.  Remus and Evan crashed into Logan, sending them backwards into Patton.

Logan helped Patton up but Remus stayed on the floor.  Remus held Evan tightly in his lap, wrapping himself as best he could around Evan's tiny body.

Upon further notice I could see that Evan was indeed awake and uninjured.  But he was crying softly, his hands twitching in his lap.  He was just staring ahead of himself, seeming unfazed but what was happening.

Evan looked utterly traumatized.

It made me wonder how far Jealousy and Ignorance got.  But just thinking about it made my anxiety worsen as bad memories appeared.

"N-Now let the t-trail begin!"  Corruption screeched, the insane look back in his eyes.  Well, it's always there, but it became more prominent.

"What the hell is a trail?"  Roman asked.  I shrugged.

"This could be what Wylan was talking about,"  Logan said.  "About the executions that took place."

"Oh,"  Roman responded.

"Bring forth the accused!"  Corruption said.  A chair of black, twisting lighting appeared behind him.  He grabbed the chain attached to the shackles around Draven's wrists.

Draven fell heavily to the ground in front of the chair.  With a smirk, Corruption sat down.  Then a smaller chair of blue-grey lightening appeared next to Corruption.

Wylan, who was just sobbing on the ground, finally seemed to realize what was going on.  The blue-grey lighting around his hands jerked forwards to the chair, dragging Wylan onto the chair.

He tried to struggle, but it was pointless.  Wylan was stuck to the chair.  Corruption sat a hand on Wylan's thigh while glaring at Draven.  Wylan stared at the hand, obviously having mixed emotions.

"N-Now, let us be-begin,"  Corruption purred.  "Will th-the prosecutor st-step for-forward?"

Steve appeared next to Corruption, seeming to be materializing from thin air.  The pool of dread and anxiety grew in my stomach.

"Your majesties,"  Steve said, bowing to Corruption and Wylan.  "First Lieutenant Draven has been accused of a multitude of crimes against Corruption."

"G-Get on with it,"  Corruption said, waving a dismissing hand.  Steve summoned a long piece of paper, holding it up in front of him.

"I, Steve the Dark Mage, hereby accuse First Lieutenant Draven of the following crimes,"  Steve said. "Conspiring with the enemy, betraying his leader, talking to the Queen, speaking the Queen's name, abandonment of his post, giving away information to the enemy, giving his name to the enemy, first degree murder of his own brother, attempted assassination on his leader, treason, protecting the enemy, and the capital crime. Falling in love with the Queen."

Draven just stared up at Corruption. There was no visible regret in his eyes, only a trace of fear. Draven knew he'd end up in this situation eventually, but he stuck with us anyways.

"W-We'll that all s-seems extremely incriminating," Corruption purred, enjoying as Draven squirmed with fear. "N-Now what is the pun-punishment f-for the crime."

"The capital punishment is brain lighting by his majesty, Corruption," Steve answered, a sadistic grin on his face. He was enjoying this.

"No!" Screamed Wylan. "Don't do this! Izzy I am begging you stop killing people. Don't hurt him!" Corruption slapped him, shutting Wylan up.

"I d-don't remember give-giving y-you permission t-to speak," Corruption growled at him. "The criminal m-must be pun-punished."

"But I love him," Wylan cried. Corruption slapped him harder this time. He stood up angrily, marching down to Draven.

"Y-You love him?" Corruption hissed, glaring up at Wylan.

"Yes," Wylan answered, managing to keep his voice steady despite the tears rolling down his cheeks.

"T-Too bad I d-don't care if y-you love me or n-not, y-you will be-belong to me n-no matter what," Corruption growled.

Wylan looked angrily at Corruption. His hands were sparking a bit, but the black lightening restricted it.

"H-How do you pl-plead?" Corruption asked Draven.

"Guilty," Draven answered with a smirk.

"I s-see," Corruption said, narrowing his eyes. "You realize y-you are sealing y-your own f-fate?"

"I know you're going to kill me no matter what I plead," Draven said. "So why not admit the truth. I have romantic feelings for Wylan."

Corruption didn't even say anything. He hit Draven hard enough in the mouth to give Draven a bloody nose and busted lip.

"I hereby s-sentence you t-to death b-by brain lighting," Corruption hissed. Draven just smiled, spitting blood out of his mouth.

"No!" Screamed Wylan, his body lighting up with sparks. "You can't kill him!"

"T-Too bad darling," Corruption purred. Wylan was breathing heavily, staring finally with pure anger towards Corruption.

"Let him go Corruption." Wylan said, glaring at him.

This made Corruption falter. Wylan doesn't call Corruption that. It's always Izzy. This means Wylan is finally moving on a bit. He's finally making progress.

Wylan however used Corruption's brief distractedness to start trying to free himself.  He started pulling roughly on his mechanical arm

With the sound of tearing metal and electrical sparks, Wylan ripped his mechanical arm off.  The arm was left dangling in the black lighting.

Wylan got to quick work on pulling all the black lighting off himself while Corruption looked up in shock.

We all looked at him in shock too.  I never expected Wylan to rip off his own arm, much less be able to rip it off in the first place. He didn't seem to be in any pain despite the sparking stump of wiring and metal.

With lightening speed, Wylan ran from the chair and threw himself around Draven.  He quickly threw up a blue-grey lighting shield around them.

Corruption became enraged.  He stared throwing large bolts of black lighting at the shield, screaming all sorts of horrible obscenities at Wylan.

"I'm sorry,"  Draven mumbled.

"It's okay,"  Wylan told him.  "I love you."

Draven hesitated a bit, looking over at Corruption.  But then he smiled and looped his shackled arms around Wylan. Draven leaned down to Wylan and connected their lips softly.

They kissed.

Wylan quickly wrapped his one arm around Draven and returned the kiss.  Corruption's face twisted into something hideous. It was a mixture between hatred, jealousy, sadness and pure boiling rage.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you,"  Wylan cried.

"I'm sorry I was afraid.  That I pushed you away."  Draven apologized, on the verge of tears.

"I don't blame you for that,"  Wylan told him, kissing away his tears.  "I'm sorry."

"It's okay,"  Draven said again, kissing him again.  "I love you too, don't blame yourself."

Wylan was about to respond but the lightening shield shattered open.  There was a small blast but it only took those few seconds for Corruption to descend on them.

Corruption ripped Wylan from Draven's arms and threw him to the ground.  Then he turned on Draven, who was standing there bravely.

Draven faced death with his head held high.  Corruption turned on him with a raised hand.  His hand started sparking with violently black and white bolts.

Wylan was screaming and crying, trying to stop Corruption but his attempts did nothing.  Draven fell from his feet to his knees.

He was shaking, in a way that reminded me of Evan's seizures.  His whole body seemed to be tensing up and vibrating.

Then Draven started screaming.  Horrible, loud, long, pain filled screams.  Black blood started pouring from Draven's ears.

Then blood started coming out of his eyes.  Draven was still screaming but they stared coming in gurgles.  Coughing and the sound of him trying to scream through a liquid in his throat.

He started coughing up blood.  Draven fell complete to the ground.  His entire body was heaving as he fought for breath.

Small chunks of his throat started coming up with the blood.  With one loud high pitched scream, Draven started clawing at his own head.  Digging deep claw marks into his skin.

Draven's entire body shook.  He was still screaming, coughing up blood and guts.  Blood poured from his ears, eyes and nose profusely.

"Love you Wylan,"  Draven chocked out.  He gave one last long scream.  A sound like ripping flesh and cracking bone filled the air.

With the disgusting sound of flesh being ripped, Draven's head literally exploded.  Draven slumped to the ground, dead.

His body was completely still except the small wafts of smoke coming from his skin.  Draven was burnt from the inside out with lightening.  Torn apart nerve by nerve.

Blood and guts surrounded him.  His head was just a pile of bone and bloody mush that must have been his brain and guts.

Wylan let out a cry of mental anguish and slumped to the ground.  He was sobbing violently, his hand covering his mouth.

Corruption started laughing.  Loud horrible laughs.  They showed he enjoyed this.  All of us stared in shock at Draven's body.

With a flash of lightening and smoke, Corruption and Steve disappeared.  The lightening cages quickly following.

Wylan scrambled to Draven's side, holding desperately to his hand.  He was sobbing violently, his entire body shaking.

We all walked slowly towards Wylan.  Most of us were in shock.  I myself was crying softly.  And I wasn't the only one.

As we neared Wylan, I heard him saying something.  He was mumbling something under his breath.  Barely more then a whisper but the song was still coherent.

"I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more..."
