The clothes Jungkook brought for Taehyung fit him relatively well. It was odd to see him dressed in snug fitting jeans and a big red tshirt. Yoongi didn't really know what to do about shoes, but that was on his mental shopping list.

Taking Tae shopping was quite the experience. Yoongi tried asking Taehyung to find things he liked, but Taehyung only wanted to look at dish towels and those glitter top picture frames.

Finally, Yoongi pulled Tae away from the home department and over to the rack of tshirts.

He pulled one out from among the press of hangers. "How about this one?"

"That pleases me." Tae nodded.

Laughing slightly, Yoongi added it to their cart, piled high with clothes for Taehyung to try on. With some jostling and maneuvering Yoongi wheeled the cart to the fitting room. Taehyung took the pile into his arms and started towards the fitting room.

"Tae, hold on." Yoongi put a hand on his arm. "The attendant needs to count your clothes."

"Are they not mine? Why does she take them?" He pouted.

"I haven't paid for them yet, but she'll count them and give you a number." Yoongi guided him to hang the clothes in front of the very confused attendant.

Still pouting, Taehyung did as directed, accepting the clothes and the number eagerly.

The attendant went back to her desk and started straightening the numbers needlessly, "Are you going in too? I can give you a zero?"

"I'll stay out here thank you." Yoongi sat on the bench.

He tried not to pay attention to the attendant, but she kept straightening the numbers. Her fingers shook with nerves and her eyes kept shifting to and away from him. Yoongi couldn't blame her. Most people knew how shopping worked. It didn't help when
Taehyung shuffled out holding the cuffs of the one button up shirt they'd picked out. The whole front was open and his whole torso was exposed.

He was frowning at the buttons intensely, fiddling with them with clumsy slender fingers.

"Yon-Yoongi?" He amended. "What are these?"

Blushing heavily and trying very hard not to look at the attendant who's features were also tinted pink, Yoongi pulled Tae back into the dressing room.

"Buttons, Tae. They're buttons." Yoongi's own fingers had begun to tremble as he tried to button the shirt.

He was very aware of Taehyung's height, his stance. How he seemed to loom over him like a parenthesis to his colon. (: (a/n: I do think like this shush) It was a new kind of unsettling. He felt drawn into him; shielded. He finished closing the buttons and stepped away.

"Do you like it?" Yoongi choked out. The tension was suffocating. Taehyung was burning a hole into Yoongi's scalp, he could practically feel it.

Taehyung hummed and Yoongi looked up at him. His eyes were hooded and his breathing careful and measured.

Yoongi couldn't breathe. He was close enough to feel Tae's soft breath on his forehead and see his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. He couldn't help but think back to when they'd left Jin's apartment. Chap 5 hoes go read it

" 'Kay." He squeaked, almost tripping over his feet to reach the door.

After that, Yoongi couldn't sit on the bench and wait for Taehyung anymore. The awkwardness would be too much. Instead, he busied himself with looking at sunglasses until Taehyung returned, holding the pile of clothes to his chest like a young child clutched a treasured stuffed toy.

The attendant eyed him up nervously, mouth working as she tried to decide whether or not to do her job correctly.

"Tae, she's going to count them again, hang 'em up for her." Yoongi smiled, trying to dispel any of the earlier tension. "We get them right back."

Taehyung obeyed, neck bent down and shoulders drawn in timidly. The attendant counted them and fixed a few on the hangers before asking for the number back.

"Y-you can take your things now." She managed.

They took them to the front and Yoongi paid for them trying to keep a curious Taehyung by his side. The other boy kept wandering and picking up candy and the other small items placed by the registers. Finally, Yoongi resorted to holding his hand.

Taehyung stared at their hands. He liked the difference in their skin tones and the warmth of Yoongi's fingers.

They took their bags and left, Yoongi walking ahead with Tae's shoes. One pair of sneakers and one pair of sleek leather boots that had caught his attention.

"Yoongi?"

"Hmm, yes Tae?"

"Can you show me how to fix the buttons."

Yoongi turned at that. He blushed as Taehyung was, in fact, wearing the button up shirt again. Front as open as ever.

"Taehyung!" Yoongi hissed, fastening the buttons as fast as his trembling fingers would allow. "You can't walk around changing your clothes in public like this!"

"I liked this one." He shrugged.

"Next time wait until we get home. At least."

Taehyung just shrugged again.
