Moving On

Taehyung and Irene got married in an intimate ceremony, surrounded by close friends and family. The day was filled with joy and love, the air vibrant with the promises of their new life together. The couple looked radiant as they exchanged vows, pledging their hearts to each other for eternity. Shortly after the wedding, they flew to Korea. Despite Irene's lingering fear of Taecyeon, she resolved to do everything in her power to protect her husband.

For ten blissful months, they lived in Korea without any issues. Taehyung experienced significant success in his company, his leadership skills earning him respect and admiration. Irene continued her work as a doctor, dedicating herself to her patients and finding fulfillment in her career. Their days were filled with a contented routine, and their nights were spent wrapped in the comfort of each other's arms.

Jungkook's pov

"Please, Y/N-ssi. Don't take Taehyung away from me! I beg you." Irene folded her hands in front of her, tears streaming down her face. Y/N clasped Irene's trembling hands in hers, and her own eyes filled with tears. The emotional weight of the moment was almost unbearable.

Irene's voice cracked as she continued, "Jebal (Please), I love him so much. I swear I tried not to fall for him. I tried to convince my heart that one day he might leave me, but I failed. I am so sorry, Y/N. I don't think I can live without him." She sobbed uncontrollably, the rawness of her emotions laid bare.

My heart ached at the sight of Irene's desperation. She had loved Taehyung deeply, and seeing Irene in such pain brought back memories of her own heartbreak. But I had come to understand that love was about wanting the best for the person you care about, even if it meant letting them go.

"Taehyung is not going anywhere," Y/N said softly, her voice trembling with emotion. "He will stay with you, forever. I loved him more than myself, and I always wanted the best for him. I came here to confirm if he is alive and happy. He deserves to be happy, and you are his happiness. His past wasn't good. I don't want him to go through that pain again. You are the best woman for him. Always stay with him, Irene-ssi."

Irene's tears flowed even more freely at Y/N's words. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice choked with gratitude. "I promise to be the best wife for him."

Y/N took a deep breath, trying to steady her own emotions. "I know I was not the one for him. Patching things up now would be a mistake. We would always feel guilty, and Taehyung would always remember those dark days. We would both remain in the shadows. I have found my light," she glanced at Jungkook, who stood nearby, his face flushed with emotion. "And Taehyungie has too. Let's try to move on, hmm?"

Irene nodded, wiping her tears. "Thank you so much. Your understanding means the world to me."

Just then, Taehyung entered the room, oblivious to the emotional exchange that had just taken place. "Sorry, did I miss something?" he asked, noticing the traces of tears on their faces. " why are you crying?"

"I was cutting onions," Irene lied quickly, her voice steady despite the emotions still swirling inside her.

"But the counter is clean," he pointed out, his confusion deepening.

"That's because I kept them aside, you pabo!" she retorted playfully, giving him a light punch on the stomach. Her attempt to divert his attention worked, and Taehyung rubbed his nape in embarrassment.

I cleared my throat to interrupt the lovebirds, reminding them of the presence of others. Taehyung quickly composed himself, turning his attention to Y/N. "Sorry, let us get back to the conversation?" he addressed her, trying to sound casual.

"It's okay," Y/N replied with a soft laugh. "I came here to thank you for accepting our deal. I didn't get a chance to meet you that day." She laughed again, her tone light. "You're almost a celebrity in our office."

Taehyung flashed a grin, his teeth gleaming. "Really? That's good to hear. Nice to meet you too, Y/N and Jungkook."

Y/N stood up, and I followed suit. "We should get going then," she said, and we both bowed. The Kim couple walked us to the door.

"Have a safe flight," I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite the emotions bubbling up inside me. Taehyung pulled me into a tight hug while Irene embraced Y/N. The warmth of Taehyung's hug brought back memories of our high school days, a bittersweet reminder of the bond we shared.

"You've got a wonderful girlfriend. Treasure her for the rest of your life," Taehyung whispered in my ear, his words filled with genuine warmth.

"Of course, I will. I won't let any sorrow touch her. She will be my queen," I promised, feeling a lump in my throat. Taehyung smiled in reply, his eyes reflecting a mixture of pride and affection. "Hope we can still be in touch if possible."

As Y/N and I walked away, I couldn't help but glance back at Irene and Taehyung, standing together in the doorway, holding each other close. The emotional encounter had left us all shaken, but I knew that they would cherish the love they had found. And as for Y/N and me, I was determined to build a future filled with happiness and light, just as we had promised each other.

It felt like the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Letting go was hard, but it was necessary. Sometimes, love meant making difficult choices and moving forward, even when it hurt. And in that moment, surrounded by the bittersweet memories of our past and the hopeful promise of our future, I knew that everything would be okay.

Y/n's pov

I felt a wave of relief wash over me after seeing Tae so happy. It was as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders, and I could finally breathe freely. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't miss him, but now I had a brighter future to look forward to with my beloved Kookie. I was determined to leave the past behind and focus on our relationship. I wanted to give us more time and be the ideal girlfriend for him. Jungkook had done so much for me, and I wanted to return his love tenfold. He wouldn't have a chance to complain.

Just like Tae deserves happiness, my Jungkookie deserves nothing less. I'm going to spoil him with love.

"He is my boyfriend," Jungkook mimicked me in a girly voice from the driver's seat, breaking me out of my reverie.

My cheeks heated up. It's not wrong to call your boyfriend, "boyfriend," but every time he brought up that topic, I couldn't help but blush. His side profile looked especially handsome in that moment, and I had an overwhelming urge to bite his button nose. Without thinking, I traced his jawline with my finger. "Why? Can't I call my boyfriend, 'boyfriend'?" I smirked and ran my fingers up to his earlobe, gently pinching the sensitive part.

"Y/N, w-what are you doing? Are you in your senses?" He stuttered, his cheeks glowing bright red.

"Uh-huh. I'm just trying to shower my love on my boyfriend." I caressed his thick thigh, loving how he got nervous every time I took the initiative (which was very rare). Today, I felt free as a bird and wanted to fly in the open sky.

"Yah! I'm driving! Stop giving me a hard time!" He was clearly struggling to concentrate, and I discovered how hard he was. Valuing our lives, I decided to show him mercy for the moment.

"Okay." I retreated my hands and focused on the view outside.

"Are you angry?" he asked after some time.

"Nah! I'm more than happy today. I feel renewed."

He giggled. "Me too. I can finally have you as mine without fearing Taehyung or Taecyeon."

"I've always been yours, babe~" I winked, causing Jungkook to choke. Okay, I was probably high on happiness today. I might regret this tomorrow... or not.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously, realizing we weren't headed home.

"Somewhere special," he replied, keeping it mysterious.

After a few more minutes of curiosity, Jungkook finally parked the car in front of a watchtower. It was so tall that the top was hidden behind the clouds. "What are we doing here?"

"You'll find out soon. Let's go up," he said, leading the way inside.

"Jungkook-ah! Stop being so mean. Tell me already what you're up to!" I whined as the elevator ascended.

"Have patience, uri yeoljachingu (my girlfriend)." The elevator finally reached the top. Since the watchtower was located in a remote area, there weren't any people around. I was happy to have some privacy.

"Y/N! Check it out! The city view is amazing!" Jungkook called out excitedly. And he wasn't lying. The mixture of concrete and greenery was breathtaking, as if a painter had meticulously crafted the city on a canvas.

I stepped closer to the edge, taking in the stunning view. The lights of the city below twinkled like stars, and the lush green parks added splashes of color to the urban landscape. The sight filled me with awe and wonder.
