3: Sociality
I followed the boys into the shop to pick up something to eat, but pulled Grian aside whilst Sam and Taurtis were absorbed in a discussion about the manga Hunter X Hunter. I fumbled about in your bag and pulled out a small bento for Grian. "For you." I whispered, sealing up my bag. He squeezed my hand and grinned, obviously saying thank you in his own way. I smiled back. "Hey Grian!" Sam shouted. "Come buy this for us!" Taurtis finished. He dropped my hand reluctantly and handed Taurtis and Sam a few notes of yen each. I quickly scanned the shop for something I could add to both mine and Grian's bentos. Hello Pandas! I grabbed two boxes of the sweet delicacies and ran to the register. "That'll be ten yen please!" Crab Man Carl, the shopkeeper, told me. I passed him ten yen coins that had been sitting ready in my palm. I bowed down slightly and ran out of the shop, looking around for Grian and the other two. I didn't see them. I guess that wouldn't have been too much of a problem if I could see the school. But, being specifically my luck, I couldn't. I rubbed my eye, knocking my hat askew. "Hey. You don't wanna let anyone know about that, do you? First impressions, I guess." Someone said from behind me, straightening my hat. Grian! I span around and hugged him, standing up on my toes so I could reach his neck. He carried me to the classroom, as I wasn't that heavy, and he didn't mind. To me it was a lifetime pleasure. He let me down at my seat. "I believe we have a few new students! Amaine, would you like to introduce yourself?" The joyful teacher, Miss Okami, requested pleasantly. I nodded shyly, making sure my hat stayed firmly sat on my head whilst I skipped up to the front desk. "Kon'nichiwa! My name is Amaine Kyoma, and Grian is my best friend~! I also like making bentos for the both of us, and reading manga in my spare time!" I exclaimed happily, an act. I would much rather sit at my desk and lay my head down. I bowed slightly and skipped back down to my seat. "Grian? Would you like to introduce yourself too?" Grian nodded and walked up, in a much more serious manner than me. "Hello. I'm Grian, and I usually act like a big-brother figure towards Amaine. She isn't usually very social, unless she knows you.. and has known you for years. So don't expect her to be making friends desperately with any of you. I'm an exchange student from England!" He then sat down once more in his desk, the one beside me.
