I rolled over as my roommate tried to wake me up. "Amaine! Wake up!" He shouted, shoving me out of bed. "OWCH! GRIAN!" I screamed, my fists flying everywhere I could reach. I stopped slowly, saying, "Oh.. your on the other side. Never mind then. That did hurt, though." I rubbed my head, well, tried to anyway. A hat I kept on at all times of the day unless I was alone lay on my head, despite Grian's push. I pulled it on further. I had a secret, no one knew. Well, I hope they didn't. "Did you make breakfast?" I asked, standing up. "Yes. Though you were supposed to make it, Miss Lazy-Head." Grian answered, playfully hitting me on the back of the head. We were used to each other playfully teasing each other by now, but something made me uneasy about it this time. "Did you..." I didn't finish asking. I looked down and saw my hat on the floor, behind my legs. I turned around with a calm expression. Grian, however, was different. He seemed almost scared of me now, he had stepped back a bit, onto the stairs. "W-whats wrong with you?!" Now I stepped back. "G-grian.." I whispered. I felt tears in my eyes but I didn't stop them from coming. The comment had hurt me. Now I leaned against the wall, doubled over. The secret I kept for many years against my only friend wasn't a secret anymore. Grian walked towards me. "A-ama..amaine? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." I looked up at him, and said nothing. I was scared he wouldn't be my friend anymore, because I'm like this. I sighed. "I'm a neko. Did I do well in keeping it a secret?" He hugged me. "You did, Amaine. Speaking of which, how did you manage to keep your tail hidden?"
