Fifteen, To Finally Lose

Okay, I'm going to be perfectly honest. I did not mean to find this video. I was like "oh this is a good song" then it literally had a spiderman thing and I'm like "well I guess I have to use it now" and that is the story of the most perfect thing that has happened recently.
--------------------------------------------------

I kick my leg up and smash one robot's face off. Kicking another that was next to it in the chest, swinging around and punching the last one that surrounded me in the face. A few more exited the doors and I pull out my guns to shoot them. They're suddenly switched off, and I look over to see Tony holding the remote to the training system.

I point my guns from looking at the doorways to looking at Tony.

He raises his hands in defense.

"They're on stun mode. You have a minute to explain to me what the fuck you think you were doing using me like that," I threaten, "Go."

"I was only trying to figure out what was causing your powers to be the way they are." he states. I narrow my eyes at him, "I mean that you don't directly control them."

I back off, lower my guns and run a hand through my disheveled hair.

"We're cool?" he asks

"Yeah, cool." I say, putting my guns back into my leg sheaths. I hear him sigh in relief. "I'm sorry I kinda overreacted."

"It was justified." I hear Steve say, "We should have listened to Tony when he said he didn't want to use you like that."

"I only did what I was told. I thought I was looking out for you." Wanda admits, "I'm sorry. Truly."

"It's okay. I should be grateful you guys are helping me. I didn't know I had powers like this until a few months ago." I say, "What we should really be focusing on is the ANTI stuff."

"She's right. We don't know who's who anymore." Tony says. He looks at Steve and Wanda. "We'll interrogate these two, then we'll establish our system for taking on ANTI and their copies."

"Uh, can we help?"

"We who?"

"Me and Peter. At least let us patrol for copies." I beg, "We're capable, Tony. We got this!"

"No interrogating or deeper investigations without my permission, do you understand?" he asks

"Crystal clear, Mr Stark!" I say.

"How many times do I have to tell you to just call me Tony?"

"I do. As long as you call me Time Witch, I'm calling you Mr Stark."

"Why?"

"Because it's funny."

"Fine. Steve, contact the others. We're getting the band back together." Tony says.

Steve gives Tony a look that basically screams unsure, but Tony sends one back with a certain seriousness and conformation.

"What, like the Beatles?" I question.

"Similar." Tony says, giving me a smile. I return it happily. "As for you two, I need to ask a few questions before just letting you go."

"You need to do one at a time so they can't copy answers," I point out. "I can ask Wanda?"

Tony sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "Fine, but no stupid questions. Regular Wanda wouldn't know anything about you." Tony whispers to me quietly. I nod.

"Follow me, Wanda!" I say, bringing her up to my room. She sits on my bed, and I stand in front of her. "So... What's my full name?"

"Beatrice, right? I don't know your full name." she answers.

"What are the members of the Avengers real identities?" I ask

"Hawkeye, Clint Barton, Iron Man, Tony Stark, Captain America, Steve Rogers, Vision is Tony's old AI JARVIS and Black Widow is Natasha Romanoff." she says, "Oh and Hulk is Doctor Bruce Banner and Thor is just Thor. I think I got everyone."

"Okay. Last one, what's Thor the god of?"

"He's the God of Thunder, right?" she says, "I always thought it should be Thor the god of lightning since he controls that. Not... Thunder."

"Okay, based on those answers I'm pretty sure you're real." I say. I think for a moment. The copies can replicate someone in minutes. I dig in my drawer and get a piece of paper. I scribble on it From Bea, I am real.

I pass it to her and she sticks it in her pocket after folding it up. I grab her hand and rush to where Tony would be.

"This one is real. I have a secure way of knowing it, too I gave her a  piece of paper that only one of them would have," I say, "That's my next question, actually. How are we going to tell them apart?"

"A password." he says, "This is to be known to anybody but the rest of the Avengers when we check them, you, me, Steve, Peter and Wanda."

He writes it on a piece of paper and passes it around.

Once everyone sees it, he opens the glass door to that goes into the training area and throws it on the floor. He nods to me and I promptly aim and fire at it.

The piece of paper disintegrated.

"Everyone knows the password?" he asks

"You should have asked that before you destroyed it, Stark." Steve says.

"Fair point, but it's gone now. Call everybody and get them here pronto." he says. "We need to take down this company, and it isn't going to happen without all of us."

Peter and I sit in his bedroom and stare at the city.

"So you're like... Part of an infinity stone?"

"Yep."

We sit in another moment of silence.

"Are you alright with this?"

"As I'll ever be." I sigh, "I don't quite understand all the legitimacy with all this. It's weird." I say, "It doesn't scare you, right?"

"Of course not. No sentient rock can ever change how I feel about you."

"Okay mister corny moment." I scoff, looking him in the eyes.

"Thanks." he grins. He leans over and pecks my lips.

My hand finds its way to his neck before he completely pulls away, and I press my lips a little more firmly to his. He kisses back. We move in sync slightly.

Bea, you'll ruin this. Stop.

I wanted so much to ignore the voice, but he overpowered me and I pulled away. Peter gave me a questioning look.

"What's wrong?" he asks

"I don't want to mess it up."

"It?"

"Us. We've never dated anyone else before. I don't know how this works." I say. "Peter, you're sixteen and I'm fifteen. Of course we've never done this."

"Was it bad?"

"No."

"Then why stop when you don't know how it feels?" he looks me in the eyes calmly, "We're heros now, Bea. Any day could be our last."

I laugh dryly. "Okay, mister corny."

I reach my arms up around his neck and press my lips into his again. We pull apart and I sigh.

"Ehhhhh, Tony is gonna want me hoooooommmme..." I groan. "He'll live."

Okay, well. The title. "To Finally Lose" is referential to something later on in the book. I haven't written the rest of the book before you start begging me for answers, so give me a few months and you'll look back on this moment and be like "OH MY GOD."

I promise.

I'm a good plot maker.

Maybe.
