Daily Errands

((So @dhmisfanaddict wrote a fanfic about their AU, and it's really cute and I wanted to write a second part. You should totally go read it, it's called 'I'm Used To It' it's in one of their books. DISCLAIMER: SHE HEADCANNONS MANNY AND TONY TO BE FRIENDS, SO I GUESS THIS IS WHERE THEY MAKE THE BOND. THIS IS NOT TONYxMANNY, I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT TONY xMANNY))

The tall clock man sighed softly, walking swiftly throw the town. One would think that after a while, the little boy's legs would get tired, but alas, Manny still followed behind Tony. He struggled a bit to keep up with his pace, but his happy smile didn't falter for a second. Occasionally, Tony would glance back at the child, just to see if he was still there, or how far behind he was. This would cause Manny's ear-to-ear grin to grown even wider, and his green eyes to sparkle with a luster of amazement. Tony rolled his eyes and kept walking.
"Where are we going, Tony?" Manny asked.
Tony didn't provide him with an answer. He didn't feel the need to anyways, because he found that telling the boy his name was quite enough.
He had started to wonder why Manny seemed to like him so much. Well, he was a clock, and he did have a list of powers, but that was about it! He couldn't understand why the navy headed boy insisted on accompanying him while he does his daily errands. I mean, didn't he have anything better to do?
The blue man was going to the store to buy some paint. The paint one the walls in his house were starting to chip, so he would have to fix that. He wanted Paige to help him, but since she always seemed to be busy, she just gave him the money to go buy some, and do it himself. Lord knows where she got the money from, because as far as Tony knew, she didn't have a job.
Eventually, Tony came to an abrupt stop at a corner, causing the absent-minded Manny to bump into him. The boy looked up at him, and smiled.
"Sorry, I wasn't really watching where I was going," he apologized.
Tony scowled, crossing his arms ,"Well, you better start doing so, because we're going into a very busy part of town and I don't want you getting run over, or something."
The man's words made Manny squeal with glee. That was the second time today he's heard him talk. He was just awestruck by Tony's deep British accent. The man always seemed so distant, and mysterious, but now, things were totally different because he was actually speaking in complete sentences! Manny wanted nothing but for Tony to like him, so he struck a stern pose, and put his hand to his head as if he were giving a salute.
"Yes sir!" He exclaimed, making Tony groan in slight annoyance.
Tony didn't say that because he cared for the kid. Oh no, he said it because he didn't want to be held accountable if Manny was injured, or lost. He didn't even know the kid! He just started following him out of butt-fuck nowhere!
Tony turned on his heel and dashed down the corner, with Manny close on his heels. Hopefully his boring life would convince Manny to go away. The blue haired boy didn't seem that bad, it's just that Tony didn't want friends. Well, he didn't want a friend that he had to monitor closely every minute. He wasn't a babysitter!
"You still haven't told me where we're going," Manny said, a small pout appearing on his face. Tony listened to him, but he didn't reply.
"Is it because it's a surprise?" He asked, skipping a bit so that he wouldn't straggle behind. The shorter of the two basically had to jog to keep up with Tony's leisurely stroll.
"I like surprises! Like birthdays, and presents, and your name! That was a neat surprise too!" He said,"In my head I always just called you Mister Tall," he giggled a bit.
Tony raised his eyebrow and glanced at the boy out of the side of his vision, as if he were trying to communicate with him with his eyes.
"But I like Tony!" Manny continued,"it suits you!"
Out of all the days that Manny had followed the man, he had never showed any signs of warming up to him until now, which was amazing to him. He knew that with a little effort he could get to know Tony very well. But all he knew so far was his face, and his name, and that was enough for him.
"Do you have a last name, Tony?" He asked, looking up at the man.
Tony just grunted in response.
"Is that...is that a no?"
This time, he didn't receive any form of a reply.
"I'll just take that as a no," Manny said.
"So what are you always?" He quickly changed the subject, "I know you must be an object of some sort. Otherwise, why would your skin be blue? Is it because you ate too many blueberries??"
Manny started to laugh at his own bad joke, and Tony just couldn't hold back his disappointed sigh. He wasn't interested in telling Manny his objet right now. He thought it would be obvious, because of the clock themed shirt he was wearing today underneath his galaxy jacket, or because of the fact that he emitted little ticking noises. Manny just didn't seem to notice.
"I ate a lot of blueberries once. It didn't end well," Manny commented, shivering a bit.
The boy looked around, starting to realize where they were. They were in the crowded part of town already. There was lots of noise, and humans and objects walking around everywhere. This made the child nervous. He had a bad history with getting lost, and he wouldn't want it to happen again.
Manny glanced over at Tony, whom of which didn't seem to be fazed by all the activity going on around him. His gaze shifted from the man's bored facial expression, towards his empty gloved hand.
"Can I hold your hand?" Manny asked, growing more anxious by the second.
Tony looked down at the smaller being, pondering what his next action should be.
"Ehhh...no." He answered simply.
Manny frowned, sticking closer to the man. He grabbed his hand anyways.
This made Tony jump, and pull his hand away from the child, shoving it in his jacket pocket.
"Are you deaf? I said no!"
Manny flinched, looking down at his shoes while he walked. He didn't mean to make Tony cross with him, he just wanted to feel a little safer. He decided on staying silent for the rest of the trip, since Tony seemed to be the type that liked silence.
After a couple minutes of silence, Tony started to feel bad for snapping at manny like that. He was quiet for a total of 7 minutes and 45 seconds in counting. That was a record! That meant that something was surely up.
Suddenly, Manny bumped into someone, falling to the ground.
"Hey! Watch it kid!!" They yelled as they kept walking.
Tony stopped to look back at the boy, a shocked expression appearing on his face when he saw that he looked like he was about to cry. He walked over to the child, towering over him.
Manny covered his face as the tears rolled down his cheeks. He didn't want Tony to see him cry. He dint want to seem weak, or foolish. He whimpered as he felt strong hands pick him up and set him down on his feet.
"Are you alright?" Tony's voice cut through the loud chatter around them.
He was kneeling down, so he would be eye to eye with the blue haired male.
Manny just replied with small choked sobs, and a slight nod.
"Don't cry, boy...you'll be fine! Just walk it off, you'll see," Tony spoke softly. This was surely different from the rough, blunt tone he would usually talk in.
Manny nodded and wiped his tears. If Tony said he would be fine, then he would be fine.
Tony stood up, offering the boy his hand, which the child gladly took.

((Lmao what even is proofreading?))
