"Katherine?"

I look up to see my teacher frowning at me.
"I have told you so many times. No listening to music in class"

"Sorry Mr," I mutter, taking my head phones out. He walks back to his computer as I feel someone nudge my shoulder. I turn my head to see Rose staring at me. "You really should listen in class. Remember when you got an Not Achieved on our las-"

"Okay I get it. You've told me plenty of times," I sigh. 

"Then why don't you listen?"

"Because. You know I don't like science. And whats the point of doing it. I'm not going to need to know all this stuff when I'm older"

"Whatever. But don't say I didn't warn you," she sighs dramatically.

The bell goes, signalling for us to go to lunch.
"And don't forget about your science homework that is due in tomorrow," the teacher shouts as everyone rushes through the door. I catch up with Rose as she walks to lunch. 

We walk to our usual spot in silence. I spot our friend Megan on her phone while everyone else is talking.
"Probably texting her boyfriend," I whisper to Rose as she laughs. Megan lifts her head up and smiles at us.  

"How was science?" she ask as we sit down.

"Boring and stupid," I say as Rose rolls her eyes, smiling.
"She got told off for listening to music, again," Rose laughs. "Hmph!" I huff. I turn to see Indiana and Dallas talking, Millie reading a book and Natalia on her phone.
"Hey Natalia! Have you seen Cecilia. I need to ask her a question about our assignment," I ask. She looks up from her phone and shakes her head.
"She might be at the tuck shop but other than that, I don't know" I nod as she starts typing things on her phone.

"How have you not seen the new Anubis episode?!" Indiana shouts, as she stands up.
"I don't know, maybe because I just haven't!" Dallas replies, also standing up.
"Guys, why are you arguing over something so stupid?" I ask.
"We are not arguing! I'm just wondering why she hasn't seen the new episode," replies Indiana. I laugh as they continue their little conversation.

Someone taps my shoulder and I turn my head to see Cecilia smiling at me.

"Hey Kat!"

"Hi Cecilia. I have a question," I say and she nods her head for me to continue. "When is our assignment due?"

She laughs as she shakes her head.
"Let me guess, you haven't started it yet?" she asks.
"Nah. You know I get distracted," I laugh as she shakes her head again.
"Shoot Kat. It's due in 2 days. You had the whole holiday to finish"

"Fuck, really? Welp! I'm going to get a detention," I sigh. ANOTHER detention. Will probably be my 3rd one this week. Cecilia chuckles as she sits down and joins in on Indiana's and Dallas' conversation.

My phone vibrates as I see a name pop up on my screen. Ash

I smile as I pick it up looking at my screen.

'How's your boring old girls school?' 

I smile as I type in my reply.

Ash is my best friend. He lives next door to me and goes to a different school. Ash has short brown hair that was always swept to the side and ocean blue eyes. All the girls at his school love him. Lets just say he's a player. 

Rose catches my smile. "Ohhhh. You talking to lover boy?" she asks, teasingly. I roll my eyes at her. "I've told you this already. I don't like him like that and he doesn't like me like that. Just best friends," I reply as she, in return, rolls her eyes. "Come on. You can see it in his eyes. He likes you more then a friend. It's really obvious"

I snort "Yeah right. Dream on"

She shakes her head as she looks at her phone. "Oh my god guys!" she squeals.

"What?!" we all ask at once.

"Thomas finally asked me to be his girlfriend!"

"That's awesome Rose!" I reply. She smiles at me as she goes back to her phone.

"Now all we need to do is find Kat a boyfriend," Dallas says.

"Like that's going to happen," I snort.

The bell rings as everyone starts packing up. 2 more classes and then school is over.

Yay.

Hope everyone enjoyed the first chapter.

Like I already said, this is my first time actually writing a proper book. Well...I wouldn't say my first time. I was always begin stories but never finish them. But hopefully this book won't be one of them.
