Calem's POV

"Hey Guys!"

"Hey Calem!" They all reply back. I have a big group of friends. There's Serena, Misty, May, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Clemont, Paul, Drew, Kenny, Gary, Barry and Korrina.

(Again, they all look like they do in the anime.)

"So, ready for this battle?" asked Kenny

"Hell yeah, this one will be a walk in the park."

"I don't think being this confident is good for you." said Cilan as he sweat dropped.

"Don't worry man, I got this. I saw the guy earlier today and all he had was unevolved Pokemon"

Serena's POV

"Really? That's pathetic." said Paul. Well... that was expected from Paul.

"He did have one evolved Pokemon... though it was just a Pikachu." said Calem

I saw Gary's head make a sharp turn from the corner of my eye when Calem said this but I decided to ignore it for now.

"Good Luck Calem. Enjoy yourself out there!" I said while giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks Serena." He replied with a wide grin.

As Calem made his way though the tunnel to the battlefield, I turned around to see Gary smirking. This got me really curious so I spoke up.

"Gary, why are you smirking?"

"Oh, don't worry. Just know that this battle might shock all of you. You too Misty and Dawn!" Gary said. Now I was very curious.

"What do you mean by that?" Asked Dawn

"This is just Gary being Gary." Said Misty who had a blank face on.

"Come on guys, lets get to the seat! If we miss the start, I'm going to fine every single one of you!" said Barry as we all sweat dropped.

We were waiting for Ash to arrive. He was supposed to be here 10 minutes ago and Calem seemed quite annoyed that he was late.

We made our way onto the seats. KIT has a massive stadium as it often holds matches between the Elite 4 and the Champions of different regions. Right now, school was over and being the first day, nobody really had any homework so almost everybody was present... including the teachers. There is a VIP box at the other side of the battlefield where very important people, often the Champions, sit and watch. To my astonishment, it was full today. There were 6 people in there. I recognised Diantha. She is the Champion of Kalos. The other 5 I didn't realise... until Gary spoke up.

"WHAT THE F..."He stopped and then continued "Those are the Champions! Lance, Drake, Steven, Cynthia, Alder and Diantha!"

"WHAT!?" WE all exclaimed at once.

"Calem must have caught their attention. After all, he is the best trainer in the school!" I said feeling proud of him. What Gary said next really caught me off guard.

"I don't think Calem is the one they are watching today. I'm not completely sure though..." he said.

I was about to say something but Paul cut me off.

"If you think that they are here to watch someone whose strongest Pokemon is a Pikachu then you're as pathetic as that trainer!" he said.

Knowing Gary, we would go absolutely mental if anyone hurt his ego by calling him pathetic... but to mine and everybody else's surprise, he sat there, looking straight ahead smirking.

"There he is!" he said while pointing at the tunnel entrance on the other side of the battlefield.

Everybody looked that way... It suddenly became quiet among our group of friends. I looked at them and they had unreadable expressions on their face and then suddenly...

"ASH!??" They all exclaimed at the same time. I was completely surprised by his... and by the looks of this... so was everybody else.

We were all about to ask each other how we knew Ash but were cut of by Calem.

"So you finally made it! I thought you ran off... I mean, not that I would be surprised. With the Pokemon you have, I would be ashamed to even show my face!" said Calem.

Ash just smirked from the other side of the battlefield while my group of friends were going crazy!

"So, all this time, he was calling Ash a weakling?" exclaimed Dawn.

"Calem has no idea what's coming." said May.

"I've always though of Calem as a nice guy but the way he is treating Ash, I don't like it one bit!" said Iris.

"GIVE ME MY MALLET! I NEED TO KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO CALEM!" said Misty.

"So Serena, were you with Calem when he said all those horrible things to Ash?" asked Clemont

"Umm... Yeah." I said quietly. This Ash guy must have been quite the character for all my friends to be like this towards him.

"Well, what you did wasn't right. Especially to someone like Ash. He can be a bit reckless and might have a short temper but he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He has a pure heart and always put is friends and Pokemon above himself." said Cilan

"Yeah, I remember that one time he climbed to the top of Lumiose tower to save Prof. Sycamore's Garchomp. Pikachu then fell off the tower and Ash jumped after him to try to save Pikachu." said Clemont.

"That was Ash? I never got to see the news but I read the news the next day."

"Yeah, that sure sounds like Ash!" said May.

"This one time, I accidentally got lost and stuck in the Forbidden Forest back in Hoenn. The grass type Pokemon were super angry at me, but Ash came in out of nowhere and helped me though the forest safely. I was so scared but he put himself in danger for me. He is one amazing friend." May said while smiling down at him.

"Yeah, yeah, we can all talk about Ash later. Right now his battle's about to begin." said Gary.

I looked over to Paul because he hadn't said a single word. When I look at him, the expression on his face caught me completely off guard. His mouth was slightly agape and he eyes were wide open. You could be fear and respect in them. I have never seen Paul like that before. Calem and Paul battle quite often and I have never seen Paul look at Calem this way. Now, I was really interested in the battle.

No one's POV

Referee: Alright, this will be a full 6 on 6 battle between Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and Calem Xavier of Vaninille Town. Substitutions are allowed for both sides. When all 6 Pokemon from either side are unable to battle and the battle is over. The winner will be the one who still has Pokemon standing after the battle, understand?

Ash: Yeah!

Calem: Yes.

Referee: Very well. OK trainers, please send out your first Pokemon.

Calem: Lets go Tyrantrum.

Ash: Pikachu, I choose you!

Calem: Hmm... what an idiot.

Ash heard it but decided to act during the battle instead of right now.

At the stands

Serena: Well... I don't know why you guys are speaking so highly of this guy. He sent out an electric type against a rock and dragon type.

Gary: Just wait and watch Serena.

Back at the battlefield

Calem: Alright Tyrantrum, lets finish this quickly and use earthquake!

Ash: Pikachu, Iron Tail on the ground.

Pikachu: Pika, Chu Pika!

Iron tail causes the ground to shake cancelling out Earthquake's effects.

Everybody in the crowd, including Serena and Calem gasped in shock while all of Ash's friends watch on as if it was just a normal battle for Ash and well... it was.

Ash: Now Pikachu, *Ash reveals his Z ring and does the pose* Gigavolt Havoc!

As Ash says that, Pikachu is surrounded by a yellow aura. The aura grows larger and brighter until it shoots out of Pikachu's body like a bullet about double the size of Pikachu. Before Calem could even say anything, Tyrantrum is hit by the massive electric bullet. The crowd watched in shock and awe as the giant beast that is Tyrantrum is lifted off the ground and thrown back by an electric attack. As electric attacks are not very effective against Tyrantrum, it got up but you could see it was panting heavily.

Calem: What... was that?

Now everybody in the large group of friends was in awe!

To the stands

Gary: WHAT DID ASH AND PIKACHU JUST DO!?

???: That's the power of Z moves. It is of Alolan descent.

The group turned around to see a girl with tanned skin, long green hair and green eyes looking back at them.

???: Hi, I am Mallow. I was a friend of Ash back in Alola.

Misty: Wait, so where is Alola and Ash has travelled there too? Did he win the league there this time?

Misty bombarded Mallow with questions.

Mallow: Alola is a relatively new region. The Pokemon league was founded very recently. Ash and I went to school there together.

Misty: So, did Ash win the league then?

Mallow: Well... I'll leave that to Ash to explain to all of you!

To the battlefield

Calem: Tyrantrum, come on! Stand up.

Tyrantrum: Trrrrraaaaaaaa....

Ash: Pikachu, lets finish this! BOLT STRIKE!

As soon as Ash said that, Pikachu jumped into the air and started radiating blue aura. It then started getting stronger and stronger until Pikachu released it. A blue cannon ball of pure electrical energy headed for Tyrantrum and again, before Calem could even open his mouth, Tyrantrum was hit. It slammed into the the ground with immense force. Calem didn't need the referee to confirm it. He knew Tyrantrum was out.

Referee: Tyrantrum is unable to battle which means Pikachu is the winner. Calem, please send out your next Pokemon.

Back to the stands

Iris: BOLT STRIKE!? That is Zekron's signature move!

Barry: You mean that Legendary Zekron!?

Iris: I don't know how Pikachu learn't that move but Ash never ceases to surprise me!

Dawn: You're right on that one!

While the group of friends were talking to teach other, Serena looked on in awe. Ash had taken down Calem's Tyrantrum with a Pokemon that has no advantage on rock types. TO add salt to the wound, Calem couldn't even put a scratch on Pikachu.

Back to the Battlefield

Calem returns Tyrantrum without saying anything and sends out his second Pokemon.

Calem: Lucario, help me out here.

Lucario: RAAAAAA!

Ash: Pikachu, return. I want to give everybody a chance buddy!

Pikachu returns without hesitation.

Ash: Lets go Snorlax.

While Ash does so, he quickly switches the stone on his Z-ring.

Referee: Alright, battle begin!

Calem: Lucario, Aura Sphere!

Ash: Snorlax, use Giga Impact! Head straight for the Aura Sphere!

Snorlax: SNOOOOOR!!!

Calem: What are you doing?

Ash doesn't reply. He just looks on as Snorlax surrounds itself with a purple veil and flies towards Lucario and its Aura Sphere. Snorlax breaks the Aura Sphere apart and lands a clean hit with Giga Impact on Lucario.

Calem: Lucario, can you still battle?

Lucario: *slowly gets up but is visibly injured* Raaaa...

Calem: Snorlax can't attack immediately, use Focus Punch!

Lucario attacks Snorlax with a super-effective hit. It lands perfectly but Snorlax just stands there completely unphased.

Ash: Now Snorlax *Does Z Pose* PULVERISING PANCAKE!

Snorlax suddenly darts towards Lucario. It then jumps high and lands on top of Lucario creating a massive shockwave and dust cloud. Once the cloud settles, Lucario is seen lying on the ground with swirly eyes.

Referee: Lucario is unable to battle. Snorlax wins!

Back to the stands

Gary: *turns around to face Mallow* Another Z Move I assume?

Mallow: Yup! That is Snorlax's special Z move!

Serena was again deep in thought. This is the second time now. At least Calem managed to inflict some damage on Ash's Snorlax! I wonder how much stronger Ash really is! No matter hoe strong he is, he is going to have difficulty beating Calem's next 4 Pokemon. I mean... he has to have trouble defeating legendaries... right?

End of Chapter 3.

Well, Ash vs Calem is finally heating up. Next chapter will be a lot more exciting with a lot more powerful Pokemon and unexpected moves! I'm sorry if I am not able to describe Z-moves properly. I am writing this before the Sun and Moon anime has been released so I have no idea how to describe them.
