With Ash

"I'm Home" Ash yelled. He had finally returned after 3 years in Alola. The last time he was in Pallet Town was after the defeat in the Kalos League Final to Alain... and after saving Kalos from Team Flare of course.

"Piii Pikaaa" Pikachu soon announced. He also voiced the fact that he had returned.

"Mime Mr. Mimee" said the humanoid Pokemon from the kitchen. Ash soon followed the voice and saw Mr Mime washing some dishes.

"Hey Mr. Mime, How're you doing? And do you know were mom is?" asked Ash.

"Mime Mime" replied Mr. Mime while pointing towards Prof. Oak's Lab.

Ash immediately understood what Mr. Mime meant but still tried to confirm it by asking " So mom's at the Lab?". Mr. Mime nodded. 'Mom seems to spend a lot of time with Prof. Oak' Ash thought.

Removing the subject from his head, Ash headed to his room and sat on his bed. Ash had been tired from the travelling and while sitting on his bed, Ash's eyes grew heavy and eventually, he dozed off.

Ash awoke when he felt something tough slam into his stomach. He had the wind knocked out of him and couldn't even get himself to say a word. He opened his eyes to find Pikachu using Iron Tail in his sleep. Ash was used to Pikachu using Thunderbolt on him to wake him up but this Iron Tail was new... and a lot more effective. Ash looked at his Voltorb clock to find that it was around 7:30 so he decided he had enough sleep for now.

Ash got up and headed downstairs to find that his mom was cooking dinner. As he walked into the kitchen, Delia turned around. After noticing Ash standing there, Delia's eyes widened and a huge smile formed on her face as she tightly hugged Ash.

"Ash, honey, you're finally home!" she exclaimed. "I've missed you so much" she continued.

"I missed you too mom... b-but you're su-su-ffocating m...e" Ash managed to say.

Delia quickly released Ash and said "I'm sorry honey, I'm just so happy to see you again.".

"It's nice to see you again too mom" Ash replied. Anyway, Dinner's almost ready so go have a seat. Ash gladly cooperated and sat on the chair.

After dinner, Ash and Delia were watching TV when suddenly Delia turned to Ash and started speaking.

"I've been thinking honey. You have been on this journey since you were 10. You're 17 now and you still don't know much about anything but Pokemon battling. You have completed school in Alola, but I think need to have a better understanding of more academic subjects like Maths, English, Science etc. I was thinking of enrolling you into Kanto High but this came for you when you became the Champion in Alola." Delia said while handing Ash a brown envelope.

Ash was in shock. This was all happening so quickly. He didn't know what to do or how to reply to his mother. After a couple of moments,took the envelope and then he finally spoke up. "Mom, you know my main goal is to become a Pokemon Master. Going to school and learning all that sciencey stuff is just going to be a waste of my time. When I become a Pokemon Master, I'll easily earn enough to support you and myself."

"I understand Ash, but it would be quite useful if you go to school. Not only will you learn something new, you'll probably make new friends too. Besides, you haven't even opened the letter yet." replied Delia.

Ash looked down at the plain brown envelope on hands. There was nothing printed on the outside apart from his name and address. When he opened the letter, he saw three letters that immediately caused him to widen his eyes and make his heart skip a beat. K.I.T. The Kalos Institute of Technology. Not only was this one of the most prestigious schools in the world, it was also known to be where all the best trainers in the world studied and graduated from. From Cynthia to Wallace. All types of trainers were welcome because KIT wasn't just a normal school. They also specialised in Pokemon Training where the teachers would be the very best in their field. Ash knew that if he went to the KIT, his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master would take a huge step forward. Without any second thoughts, Ash tackled Delia into a hug. Ash knew what he wanted to do now. In less than 2 weeks' time, Ash will be attending KIT.

"So, I take that as a sign that you've changed your mind about going to school now?" Delia asked while chuckling a little.

Ash then replied with a wide grin and said "I'm going to start packing right away."

~Time Skip to 3 days before the the start of school~

"HELLO KALOS REGION! ASH KETCHUM FROM PALLET TOWN IS FINALLY HERE... AGAIN!" Ash yelled. He carefully descended down the stairs from his plane this time. Thankfully, Alola is a relatively new and unknown region so people don't recognise Ash that often. There are a few hardcore fans who recognise him, but other than that, Ash gets nowhere near as much attention as the other champions.

Once Ash collected his luggage and let Pikachu out of his bad. Pikachu perched up on Ash's shoulder and they headed out of the airport. Ash then got into a taxi along with his luggage and headed to the KIT. It lied on the outskirts of Lumiose city.

After about 20 minutes, the academy came into view. It was huge... just like any other large institutions. It was a jungle of modern glass buildings. There were trees planted on the side of the side of the road so the area looked nice. Far off into the distance, you could be tall colourful buildings. Ash assumed that they were the dorms.

The atmosphere was vibrant. Even though the school wasn't supposed to start for another 3 days, there were students already there... most likely moving into their dorms. Once they reached the main reception, Ash exited the taxi, paid the fare and made his way to the reception with his luggage. Little did he know that a couple of meters away, a familiar face had seen Ash's arrival.

With ???

"Now way is that Ash. What's he doing here? Gramps never told me about this!" he said. "Come on Umbreon, lets let his get settled for now. I'm sure we'll meet him on Monday again. We can introduce him to the gang then."

"Um Umbreon!" replied the quadrupedal pokemon, clearly excited to see Ash and Pikachu again.

'Oh this is going to be fun. Now with Ashy-boy here, this year is going to be a lot more interesting than the last one. I wonder how much stronger he has gotten. I heard gramps say that he has been catching new and powerful Pokemon. He might even give Calem a run for his money.' he thought.

"Anyways Umbrean, lets go back to our room. I still need to finish setting everything up." Umbreon gladly agreed and walked away with its trainer.

With Ash

"Hello, my name is Ash Ketchum. I would like to collect my keys and my schedule for the year please." He said to the receptionist. The receptionist then looked up Ash's details on her computer.

"Gladly Mr. Ketchum. Here are your keys, your room is Zeta 4. Here's your schedule." replied the receptionist moments later while handing Ash the keys and his schedule.

Ash thanked her and made his way to the accommodation buildings. There were 4 buildings, each 7 stories tall. The ground floor contained a reception along with places to rest, relax, play, train etc. while the floors above were flats. Each floor contained 8 en-suite bedrooms, 1 kitchen and one dining room/TV room.

The flats had their own names. They were named after the Greek Aplhabet, all the way from Alpha to Omega. Ash being in flat Zeta meant that he was on the 7th floor of the first building.

Ash made his way into the building and started inspecting his surroundings. The reception was nothing special. The walls were pearl white and the ceiling was pretty high. There were a couple of potted plants near the windows. There were stairs at the far end of the reception, presumably leading up to the various flats. Ash wasn't too excited by the idea of having to carry his luggage up the starts all to way to the 7th floor. Thankfully, he sighed a breath of relied as he noticed a couple of metallic doors right next to the stairs. He know what they were. Elevators. One of the receptionists noticed Ash and offered to help him get to his room which Ash gladly accepted.

Once Ash got to his room, he immediately entered and sat on the double bed. Pikachu jumped off his shoulder and curled up into a ball right next to the pillow. The room was of an average size. It was slightly bigger than his room back in Pallet Town but the en-suite bathroom did take up quite a lot of space. There was a large wardrobe at the bottom of the bed and a desk right next to it. There was a TV on the desk and shelves just above it. The bathroom was to the right of the bed while there was a large window overlooking the Academy. It was late in the evening and Ash watched the sun set right behind the glass buildings from his window.

Ash then got to unpacking everything and started arranging them into the wardrobe. He then unclipped his pokeballs and placed them in the drawers right underneath his desk. Once everything was done, Ash was completely knackered and laid on his bed. Ash began thinking about what the school's going to be like. He was very excited for the first day but before he knew it, his eyes had gotten very heavy and Ash had fallen asleep, completely forgetting about dinner. ASH KETCHUM FORGOT FOOD!

End of Chapter 1

I will bring in a lot of people and Pokemon from Ash's past into this book. I am thinking of making this a long term project and I have a vague idea of what I want to do with this book. This chapter had no Amourshipping at all because I wanted to give you some background information on everything before I go deep into the book.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I made it so that Ash has traveled through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Alola with all his anime travelling companions except Serena. Serena missed the news story and never got to meet Ash while in Kalos. She still met Ash at Prof. Oak's summer camp though. Serena is in this school but not because of Pokemon Performances but because of something else...

Next chapter will be the first day and will be the day Ash will meet Serena and Calem along with a lot of other people. Don't worry. This is definitely an Amourshipping book.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed Chapter 1 and I will get working on Chapter 2 immediately!
