Chapter 53 ~ You could have killed me

It's morning, and today is the day that Nick and I are going to go on a double date with Kilian and Isla, even if they don't know it's a date. Jumping out of bed I run to my restroom and quickly take care of my business. If my plan is going to work, we need to get out of the house before anyone else wakes up.

Once I'm dressed, I run to Nick's room and walk straight in. I don't feel the need to knock when I'm his girlfriend. It's still dark in his room and I have to wait until my vision focuses before I make my way to his bed. I crawl up on his bed and softly nudge him. "Nick, baby. Wake up." He grunts a little and rolls over. I don't have time to wake him up gently if I want my plan to work.

Hmmm... I tap my finger on my chin trying to think of how to wake him. I could throw water on him, but that would require too much effort for me. I don't want to go downstairs and get a glass to put water in. I could start kissing him, but I don't want to go there either. Suddenly the perfect idea pops into my head. I place one hand over his mouth and pinch his nose shut with my other hand. After a few seconds, his eyes pop open and shoves me off of him. "What the hell Sofia? Were you trying to kill me?" he growls.

I give him a sad face. "No, I wanted you to wake up, but you didn't want to wake up. I would never kill you. Unless you cheat on me, then I will kill you," I say. The last part sounds a bit crazy, but we've already gone over that, I'm a little crazy.

"First, Sofia I would never ever cheat on you. Second, that is no way to wake anyone up ever. Especially me, your amazing boyfriend. You could have killed me."

"Oh, shut up you, big baby."

"Sofia," he says sternly.

"Sorry." I pout and bat my eyelashes. "Is there any way I can make it up to you?"

He smirks. "A kiss could make it all better."

He closes his eyes as I lean in to kiss him, but right before my lips can touch his, I give his cheek a kiss instead.

"Baby, that not what I meant, and you know that," he whines.

I jump off his bed. "If you want a real kiss get up and get dressed. I want to go shopping."

"But it's so early."

"I don't care. I want to go shopping. Plus, Killian has been needing to go shopping too. I'm going to let him know we're leaving soon. I'm also going to ask Isla if she wants to go because I don't want to be the only girl." I smirk.

"Do you think any of the others will want to go with us?" Nick asks.

Of course, he would ask that. "Nick, I don't want to go with a huge crowd. Plus, when more than two of you guys go y'all always get us in trouble," I complain.

"Fine. Go talk to Killian and Sofia. I'll meet y'all downstairs."

I give him a quick peck on the cheek before running down the hall to Killian's room. Again, I don't bother knocking. He's my brother, I shouldn't have to knock. I walk into his room, but he isn't there. His bed doesn't look like it's been slept in. I guess he stayed in Isla's room. Hmmm. This is making my plan much easier than I thought.

I hop up the steps to her room. Once again, I don't knock. I shouldn't have too, she's my best friend. Okay, let's be honest it doesn't matter whose room it is, I refuse to knock. I'm always just going to walk straight in. If they don't want me to walk in because they're doing something, then they better lock their damn door.

I open the door to Sofia's room and squeal, "OMG! Y'all are so freakin cute together." See, this is what I was talking about, they should have locked the door. Isla and Killian both shoot up from the bed and I laugh as they fall to the floor and land on their asses. Isla seems to be surprised that Killian was in her bed with her.

"What the hell, Sofe?" Killian growls.

"Did the two of you have fun last night?" I say as I wiggle my eyebrows.

Isla turns a dark shade of red. "I, we, it isn't what it looks like," she says, flustered.

I smirk at her. "Sure, it isn't you lovebirds. Anyways, get ready the two of you are going shopping with me and Nick."

"L-lovebirds?" Isla asks with wide eyes.

Killian stands up before walking over to Isla and helps her off the floor. "Don't mind my sister, Angel. She just off her rocker," he says glaring at me.

"Whatever," I say as I grab Kilian's arm and pull out of the room. "You have ten minutes to get your butt downstairs, Isla."

"Ten minutes? How am I supposed to be ready that quickly?" she says frantically.

"Don't know, don't care. Just do it." I close her door and walk with Killian to his room.

Once we enter his room I squeal with excitement. "You two are so cute. I can't believe y'all slept together all night. I thought you would have gone back to your room. You sure are lucky that one of the guys didn't walk in," I say jumping up and down.

"Sofe, first, no one else in the house would have barged in without knocking. Second, calm down. We only slept in the same bed. We didn't do anything. There would have been no reason for them to freak out."

I sit on his bed as he rummages through his closet looking for something to wear. "So, did my big bro enjoy sleeping in the same bed as his angel?"

He smirks at me. "It was the best night of sleep I've had in a long time."

"Y'all look so perfect together," I coo. "Oh, and wear something that is somewhat nice."

"Why?" he shouts from his closet.

"Duh, because it's a date.

Killian walks out of his closet fully dressed. "It's shopping Sofia. Last time I checked, shopping isn't a date."

"Don't be stupid, Kill," I say as I smack his arm. "We aren't going shopping. We're going to a carnival and out to eat."

"What?"

"There's a winter carnival nearby. Since we are all new to this area, I'm going to have Nick drive us while I give him the direction. It's not my fault if we happen to drive by a carnival and Nick decides he wants us to stop there. You know how childish Nick is and he loves carnivals." I smirk.

"Thanks, Sis," Killian says hugging me tightly. "I'm glad you're trying to help me get my girl."

"Killian, you deserve happiness too, and I know Isla makes you happy. Plus, if y'all got married in the future, not only would she be my best friend, but she would also be my sister." I wink at him before heading downstairs to meet Nick.

Nick smiles when he sees me. I run and jump in his arms giving him a sweet kiss on the lips. "Is your brother and Isla coming?"

"Yep, they should be downstairs in a few minutes. Will you drive for us?"

"I can, but I don't know the way."

"That's okay. I already have the directions." Killian and Isla come running down the stairs at the same time. "Are y'all ready?" They both nod their heads. "Okay, the two of you are sitting in the back. Nick's going to drive and I'm giving him directions."

Killian's POV

The four of us walk to Isla's SUV. Nick hops in the driver's seat with Sofia in the passenger seat. Isla walks to her side of the car, but I beat her to it and open the door for her. "Thanks, Killian," she says as she slips in the car. I close her door for her and run to the other side before jumping into the seat next to Isla's.

I should have known that this wouldn't be a normal drive. Sofia is getting irritated with Nick because he keeps missing where he supposes to turn as he's too busy singing. "They're cute together," Isla giggles.

"Yeah, they are. The two of them might be a pain in my ass, but they're perfect for each other. They're so happy with each and everyone deserves happiness," I say staring at Isla.

"Yeah," Isla whispers. She bites her bottom lip and spaces out. I wish I knew what she was thinking in that pretty head of hers.

As Sofia said, we are soon driving near a carnival. I'm surprised at how big it is. As if on cue, "Babe, can we please go to the carnival. Please," Nick whines. "I'll take you shopping another day. I promise. Pretty, pretty please." Nick begs.

Sofia gives me a knowing look. "I guess if it really means that much to you, we can. Killian and Isla, is it okay if we go to the carnival instead of shopping?"

Isla's eyes light up at the site of the carnival. "Yeah, I'd much rather go to the carnival."

"Me too," I chuckle.

Nick pulls into the parking lot and the four of us get out of the car and practically run to the ticket booth. Once we have our tickets Isla asks, "What do y'all want to do first?"

Sofia grabs Nick's arm, "I don't care what the two of you do, but Nick and I are going to ride some rides." Sofia winks at me before pulling Nick away. "You two have fun!" she yells before they disappear into the crowd.

Isla laughs. "I guess she wanted some alone time with Nick."

"I guess so. So, what do you want to do?" I ask her.

She shrugs as she looks around before she spots something that causes her eyes to light up. "Let's ride the roller coaster!" she exclaims.

"Okay," I say as I grab her hand and start walking in the direction of the coaster. Her small hand fits in mine so perfectly. It's like they were meant for each other like we are meant for each other.

There's no line for the roller coaster so we immediately get on it. I have to let go of her hand so we can put my seatbelt on, but before I have a chance to grab her hand, she grabs mine. "I'm scared," she whispers. "I've never been on a roller coaster before."

I gently squeeze her hand, "Neither have I," I admit.

The roller coaster starts, and she squeezes my hand tightly as it climbs higher and higher into the air. My heart feels like it's beating a thousand times a minute, and I don't know if it is because of the roller coaster, or because I'm holding hands with the girl I like. Damn, I sound like a girl, but I really like Isla.

As we reach the top, screams of joy and terror erupt from both of us. I'm scared, but it's a fun type of scared. Not the type I had when my uncle would beat me. When the ride finally comes to a stop, Isla is bouncing up and down like a small child. "Oh, my goodness, Killian, that was like so amazing. I've never been so scared, but so excited in all my life. We have to do it again. Can we do it again? Oh, please can we do it again? Pretty please with sugar on top?" she rambles. I swear she is on a sugar high.

Her being hyper makes me laugh. "Of course, Angel, we can go again. We can go as many times as you would like." I probably shouldn't have said that because we rode the roller coaster five more times before she had finally had enough.

After riding the roller coaster, a total of six times we played some games where I won her a lion. She was thrilled with the lion. Normally, Isla is so poise and quiet. This is a totally different side of her. She is carefree and childlike. I really like this side of her, and I wish she would let it out more often, but I guess when you have as many responsibilities as she does, it isn't possible to be childlike and carefree. I know how it is.

Sofia and I had to grow up much sooner than we should have had too, but then again it seems like all of our friends had too. Maybe that's what makes us all so great together. We all have rough pasts, well maybe not Tyler, but still. We have all had rough pasts and none of us judge one another because of it. I just wish we could all have more carefree and childlike days like this.

As the day passes, we ride a few more rides, before something catches my eyes. There is one of those old photo booths where you take like five pictures and it prints it out on a strip. Grabbing Isla's hand, I pull her inside the booth. After taking a few normal and funny pictures, Isla tells me to look at the camera and smile. I do as she says, and she shocks me by kissing me on the cheek. Yep, that is definitely going to be my favorite picture. I then do the same to her and take one of me kissing her cheek. I decided to kiss her cheek again so we could both have a copy of the picture, but she must have had the idea because before either of us know what's happening our lips touch, and the camera flashes.

We quickly pull away from each other with wide eyes, but before I can control myself, I press my lips to hers again. She freezes and I worry that I've made a huge mistake, but after a few seconds she starts kissing me back. She pulls away and there is a look of confusion on her face. She opens her mouth to say something, but before any words come out, a voice growls "What the fuck, Isla?"

Nick pulls the curtain door open and glares at me. "What about Hayden?"

"Nick, stop it." Sofia pleads.

"This was your plan, wasn't it?" he accuses Sofia.

"My brother deserves to be happy, and Isla makes him happy," Sofia says defending me.

"Oh yeah, and what about Hayden? I've seen the way Isla looks at Hayden. They are meant for each other, not her and your brother, not her and Luke, and definitely not her Tyler. It's supposed to be her and Hayden," he growls.

"Stop!" I yell at my sister and Nick. "It's not for either of you to choose. It's Isla's choice." I say pointing at her, but where she once sat is empty.

"Fuck," Nick mumbles. "She took off."

Nick runs off calling her name out, looking for her.

Sofia has tears rolling down her face. "Sofe, I screwed up. I shouldn't have kissed her. We both just got caught up in the moment. Now I've made her runaway, and caused you and Nick to fight."

Sofia sniffles and hugs me. "No, Killian it's not your fault. Isla doesn't know what she wants and it's hard for her to decide because you are all important to her. She has to figure out what will make her happy, but she is afraid of upsetting any of us. And, if this causes me and Nick to break up, then we were never meant to be."

"You and Nick are good for each other. Don't let this break the two of you apart. Y'all are perfect. I'm going to go search for Isla." She gives me a hug and hands me the strips of pictures that Isla and I had taken. I can't help but smile at the picture of us kissing. Even if it ends up being a one-time thing, I will always treasure it. I put the pictures in my wallet and start searching for Isla.
