Chapter #22

(Sky's POV)

It isn't even five minutes later until someone comes to open up the door. Wow, time really flies when their aren't a million voices screeching in your head. When I hear the door start to open, my imminent reaction is to shove myself and fish friend underneath a bed. Unfortunately, we don't both fit.

"Ummm...... what are you doing?", I guy wearing plaid asks while I stick halfway out from underneath the bed. "We're sightseeing. Lots of dust bunnies can be found around here!", I giggle. "Can I c-come out?", Quinten's muffled voice comes from beside me. "Can he come out?", I ask the tribute. "Yeah? Why are you two under there in the first place?", he says while raising an eyes brow. "Because your footsteps weren't quiet", I obviously explain while getting to my feet. Honestly, sometimes I think that I work with morons. You can tell a lot from someone's feet. Doesn't everyone know that?

I pull the fish up after me, since he weighs so little. "O-Oh, Uh, h-hey Mitch", he stutters as he sees the tribute's face. Mitch only grunts, letting a tense silence engulf the three of us. I look back and forth between them before my gaze goes back to the quiver on Mitch's back. I didn't think much of it when he walked in, but now it makes sense. "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So your the dude who shot Quinten. That makes sense. You did a good job hitting his dominant arm, but you probably shouldn't be shooting at your own friends", I say in a sing-song voice.

"We're not friends", Mitch huffs. "C'mon Mitchy. You might not admit it, but I can see it in your eyes how much you miss him", I say, half remembered truths whispering their words at the edges of my mind. "I don't know what your talking about. You don't know what your talking about", Mitch growls. Quinten's eyes widen, and he back away from the two of us out of his uncontrollable fear. "I'm sure that he's missing you, too. One little problem wouldn't of been able to keep your Bacca angry forever. He'll come back for his Benja", I insist. I just went too far. Even I can understand that with my crazy views.

He lunges at me, no time to dodge. He tackles me to the ground with knife from his pocket against my throat. "HOW DO YOU KNOW HIM!? YOU DON'T GET TO TALK ABOUT HIM! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WHAT'S GOING ON! YOU DON'T KNOW HIM LIKE I DID!", Mitch screams at me with, his rage so thick you could probably cut it. Speaking of cutting, the knife has drawn a little blood, and it'll cut me more if I try to speak. How ironic that we've been in this position before, and he doesn't even know it. Wait a second....... have I met him before? I don't know...... the thought just popped up above the other screeches in my head. What was I doing again? Oh yeah, being pinned by Mitch. Back to the present.

"Ty sent me to see what was taking so-", Ian stops in the doorways when he sees us. Quinten cowering in the corner, and Mitch about to kill me. "What the Nether Mitch!? You can't be trying to kill each other!", Cobblestone screeches as he wrestles Mitch off of me. Mitch growls and pushes Ian off of him before going towards the door. "Jerome still carries your axe, ya know", I say from my position on the floor, arms underneath my head. The tribute stops abruptly and stiffens up with clenched fist. Just as I feel he's about to say something, he doesn't, and leaves the building without another word.

"W-What just h-happe-ened?", Quinten stutters. "All in good time. Good things are revealed to those who wait" I tease him. And some more awkward silence joins the party for about minute. "Well anyway. Mitch was sent to come get you guys if you were awake. Follow me", Ian hesitantly says while exiting through the doorway. I grab the fish's arm and drag him after me out the door.

We receive more then a few curious glances while walking through the heart of the camp. I mean, it's not every day that they see a hybrid. And I did kill 40 squids almost by myself. Derp and some of the others were helping but I feel that I did most of the work. Ian takes us to a big tent, two people in armor standing by the door. They look at Quinten with some suspicion, but let him through with Ian and I.

Inside the tent is a long table with chairs lined up on either side. Ty is in here with Mitch, both discussing something in hushed tones. It would of been nice to eavesdrop, but of course the two people with me wouldn't do that. "Where here, Ty", Ian announces. Ty looks up from the discussion, and whatever they were discussing, I'm 99.9999999992% sure that it was it about him. Who's him again? I can't remember. That's a little unfortunate.

"Hey Sky, hi Quinten. Took you guys long enough to wake up. Quinten, you should be fine because of the healing potion, but how are your injuries, Sky?", headphones says. I back up a step when he tries to grab my arm to try and find the cuts and bruises, but bump right into the fish. We both flinch away from each other, resulting in me stumbling into Ian. And thus, I end up on the floor with Cobblestone underneath me. "Hey there. Do you come here often?", I say with all my cockiness present. "GEt oFf!", Derp hisses, his personality slipping through the sunglasses, voice cracking.

I assent to his wishes and stand back up. "The slice on my leg is almost gone, my shoulder is just sore, and my back's the same as always", I hesitantly admit. "What's wrong with you back? And how can your injuries be healed already", Mitch asks while raising an eyebrow. "What? What's wrong with my back? And of corse my injuries are fine. A good nap and I'm ready for blood", I say, giggling at the end. Hopefully my my craziness will disguise my slip up.
