Chapter #20

(Quinten's POV)

I try to untangle myself from the other guy before a pair of hands drag me up from underneath my arms. I quickly turn my head to see the Ian person picking me up. "Are you ok? Sky can get pretty vicious at times, but I promise he's really nice if you look below the surface", he says to me while glancing at the unconscious person, "So, my name is Ian, that guy is Sky, and you're Quinten?". "Y-Yes", I reply. Ah, there's my stutter. I was wondering where it went.

Ian gently takes my arm, trying not to mess with the arrow lodged into it. "Ok, it looks like this arrow needs to go through the other side of your arm. It's Mitch's serrated tips, and it'll be a whole lot worse if I pull it", he explains. "W-Wait are you s-serious!? I-I can't d-do that", I shriek, stepping back and away from him with my arm to my chest. "C'mon, it'll be over quick", Ian says sincerely, but I can't help but notice the hint of a smile on his lips. Is he freaking smiling at this? Is he some psychotic killer or something?

"What's going on!?", someone shouts as they run up to the three of us. He wears green headphones and a white V-neck shirt, with a guy behind him wearing.... a purple dinosaur onesie? "Sky didn't kill him, so I guess he's on our side?", Ian explains while kneeling down to the still unconscious Sky. "Whens did hes evens wake ups? And now he's back asleeps agains", the purple dinosaur groans. "So, um, I'm Ty. Good to meet you, as long as your not about to kill us", Ty says with a chuckle, extending his hand for me to take it.

I take his hand with my good arm, only to remember that that's the arm Sky cut. Ty sees it and pulls me forward to look more closely at it. "Man, your pretty beat up. The cut doesn't need stitches, but we need to get the arrow out", he says. I try to pull away from him at the mention of the arrow, but he only tightens his grip on me. "Barney? Can you take Sky back to the infirmary? And could you go get Mitch and meet us by Seto's lab, Ian?", he asks the two. They both nod and follow his instructions, while I continue to try and get out of Ty's grip.

"T-The a-arrow, it c-can't be. It can't b-be! D-don't m-make me", I panic as Ty try to drag me forwards. "It'll just get worse if we don't! Stop being a baby!", he yells at me. I know I'm acting like a chicken, but I really can't do it. They can't make me! I can get away! Unfortunately, he does make me. Ty throws me over his shoulder as I continue to scream and kick. "J-Just stay still", he huffs as he lurches over to where Ian and another person stand.

Their dog tags are instantly recognized by my panicked mind, and my fear doubles. "No! S-Stay away from m-me! Please go away", I scream, now clinging onto Ty like a leech. "Mitch! Why'd you have to scare him so bad? It looks like he's harmless", Ian scolds him. "He's far from harmless! He shot water at me! I've never seen anything to that before!", he argues. "Y-You attacked m-me first", I screech back right before Ty manages to drop me onto the ground. I land badly, the shaft of the arrow breaking in half.

I grit my teeth and curl up on myself. "You'll thank us later", Ian mumbles. "Alright then, Mitch hold down his legs, Ian, help me hold down his chest so I can get the arrow out", Ty grimaces. "N-No! Don't touch me!", I yell with my voice cracking. The three pin me to ground no matter how much I struggle. Ty has on knee on my chest and wrestles with my arm. He eventually manages to grab the shaft and stick it all the way through my arm. And to the three's surprise, I don't scream. Instead, I bite my lip to the point that it's drawing blood. All the days of the squids 'training' me makes me stay quiet when I feel lots of pain. If I made sound during those days, they would make sure my pain is doubled.

"....Are you ok?", Ty asked, confused by my silence. I don't answer, not being able to make myself speak. "Captain Ty! I got the potion from Seto's stash that you asked for", a girl says while running up to us. "Thanks Emily", Ty says while taking it from her. Ty gently holds my arm still while pouring most of the pinkish liquid onto the arrow wound. The rest is drizzled onto the slash in my other arm.

"W-What was that?", I ask in amanzent as the two wounds slowly stitch themselves together. "It's a healing potion. Seto made it, because he's a mage, and therefore really good at it. The only side effect is that it makes you sleepy", Mitch explain. "What to y-you m-", I start to say, but am cut off by a yawn. "Do you mind being in the same room as Sky? I don't think there's anywhere else where people will feel comfortable around you. You skin kinds make you look like a squid", Ian admits.

"I don't see a-anything wrong with Sky. I would b-be fine in a r-room with him", I mumble as my eyelids droop. "You have a lot to learn", I hear Mitch chuckle. I'm still little scared of him, but too tired to bother moving. The last thing I see is Ty picking me back up.
