Chapter #17

(Ian/Derp's POV)

We still walk through the forest, the silence suffocating us. Derp has a comment every now and then, but mostly stays silent. I need to break the ice a little bit. "So, Sky told me about what he remembers from his past, but he didn't say any names. Care to tell me your sides of the story?", I ask them.

"Wells, Skys and I were solds to the same slaves owner. Some rich persons that helped the squids. I don'ts really remember a lots after three months. The slave owners broke mes. I had nos will ofs my owns at thats point. I do remembers Ty freeing me and taking mes back to the rebels camp. From theres, Ty helped mes finds my mind", Barney explains. Wow. These people really didn't have it easy.

"I'm actually from the original GoldenEye court. My father was one of the advisors to the king. I escaped from the battle that killed the King and Queen, and later, the prince. Price Adam actually saved me. He shoved me onto his own horse and had it gallop away with me. Silly horse. It never did listen to anyone but Adam. That battle was actually the first time I saw him in person. The worst past is that he would've been old enough to take the throne by now. After a few days, I managed to find more people who had survived. We eventually built up the resistance to five different camps. Just when things were getting better, I was captured on a scouting mission. And then sold to a slave owner. Sky helped me escape, and the rest you know", Ty says while fidgeting with his bracelets.

"What about you four? It looks like you know each other", I joke to Jordan, Sonja, Tom, and Tucker. I can see that the three former assassins are still a little shaken up and maybe not completely sane, but it's a lot better then when they first got to the guild. "That's a bit of a long story, but I'll just give you the short version", Jordan hesitantly says, "Sonja, Tom, Tucker, and I all lived near the location of the battle that killed the King and Queen. We didn't want to be in the crowded city. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the battle. The squids came and used our houses for temporary shelter. I escaped after thinking everyone else was dead. I was never really the same after that". "The t-three of us got away after s-seeing what we thought was Jordan's b-body", Tucker starts. "From the state we were in from l-losing him, it didn't take long for the assassin guild to completely drive us nuts", Tom adds.

"That must have been really bad, I'm sorry that something like that happened to you guys. It really was a mistake when the squids won the war", I say. "I'm just glad that we're all together again", Sonja shakily says. I'm about to reply when Sky starts coughing from on top of my shoulder. "Crap", I mutter while quickly setting him on the ground. I prop him up and pat his back when he heaves and coughs up blood. "W-Whats is going's ons!? Is Sky's ok!?", Barney panics. He drops to the ground next to me as well as Ty. They rest stand nearby, trying not to be in the way.

"This has been happening since a few months after he came to the guild. He usually randomly passes out and coughs blood in his sleep. He doesn't even remember it happening afterwards", I hastily explain while gently hitting Sky's back. I don't mention that it seems like he looses more blood each time it happens. Sky's agonized coughing and choking is probably scaring them enough. He pushes at the ground with his feet and continuously tries to move back while hacking. But I know from experience that he won't wake up for a few hours.

And as suddenly as it started, the blood stops coming, and Sky sags against me. "That doesn't look too good.......", Ty mumbles. "MaYbe hIs barf is juSt red? It coUld be poSsible", Derp says in my head. "And how would you know? I don't think you've had any medical school", I say out loud. I look up from Sky to see everyone staring at me. "Geez, sorry. I just assumed coughing blood was bad", Ty says with a bit of a frown. I duck my head and avoid eye contact.

After about a minute of awkward silence, Jordan clears his throat. "Ok, well, you guys better be getting back to camp", he says. "Waits, what dos you means you guys? Aren't you four comings?", Barney asks. They remain silent before Tucker eventually speaks up. "We've all been talking, and it might not be the best time for us to be in an army camp. We were planning to leave for awhile, catch up, maybe not want to fight everything in sight", He chuckles at the the end.

"But....... Jordan. Your most closely related to the royal family. Your all we have left. We need you......", Ty trails off. "I know but I won't be gone forever. We'll all come back soon. They just need some time", Jordan says while turning to his friends. "Just makes sures you come backs in ones piece", Barney says while stepping forward and giving Jordan a hug. Ty joins the hug, and I can only awkwardly watch and glance at Sky who is still knocked out.

"As long as we're still alive, we'll meet again someday. So don't get yourselves killed", Jordan teases. The last few goodbyes are exchanged before Jordan, Sonja, Tucker, and Tom start walking away. I'm pretty sure they said something about going home. I hope they all can get everything sorted out right.

"Welp, let's go everyone", Ty says while finally turning his back to the receding figures. I pick Sky back up, his head on my shoulder, and my arms underneath his knees. Sky so owes me once he wakes up.
