Chapter #10
(Sky's POV)
Ross leads me into a room on the side of the hallway. The door had a giant hole in the middle, so Ross didn't bother opening it. The new room wasn't very big, but had weapons and armor absolutely everywhere. On the walls, the floor, some even strapped to the ceiling.
Amid all the chaos was a boy in the lotus position. His hair is a turquoise blue, and he holds two diamonds in one hand, a tiny toy minecart in the other. He is pale, with tattoos covering his arms. He doesn't make any reaction to us entering the room, but I have no doubt he knows that we are hear.
"H-Hey Dan, I have someone here for you to arm", Ross hesitantly says. I don't think he's much of a fighter. Dan grunts, but doesn't move. I can't even see him breathing. Ross and I stand next to the doorway for a good ten minutes. Dan doesn't move at all. I look over at Ross to see his face, but he stares at the ceiling. I look back at Dan and choke back my surprise. His hair changed to a pink color. How is that possible in less then five seconds? I look away again, and turn back to see that his hair is a dark green. This is creepy.
Dan suddenly jumps up and grabs me by my arm. I stumble as he pulls me to the center of the room. He looks at me and squints his eyes. He then proceeds to run around the room, tearing things off the walls and ceiling. Ross just watches the activity. I loose sight of Dan for a moment, only to find him behind me with flaming orange hair. He shoves the pile of weaponry into my arms, and then shoves me through a door that I didn't even noticed before. "Now, go put that on, and then come out to show me how it looks", Dan says in an over exaggerated British accent.
The door shuts behind me, and I quickly look over the room. It has a wooden bench up against one wall, and a full body mirror on another. Nothing else. I set down the gear and look over it. A sword belt with an iron sword in the sheath is what catches my eyes first. They gave me weapons? They really are crazy. Not that I'd be able to fight my way out, though. There are shoes that have grips on the bottom for climbing walls, and a pair of black socks. Black sweatpants also are on the pile. The pants have a knife sheath on the inside of the leg, with a knife it it. A pair of figureless gloves are on the top. The shirt is more of a gray, and doesn't have any sleeves, but nothing special about it. But what is most amazing is what fell to the floor. A leather arm guard with a knife sheath on the side. Not only is it of very fine make, but the top covers up my left shoulder, and therefore the birthmark. All the clothes are exactly my size, the weapons' handles fitting perfectly in my hands. Looks like Dan is a little more then he seems.
I step out of the room to see Dan freaking out over a tear in Ross's shirt. Ross is giving him a slightly scared look, while Dan screams and yells at him with the British accent. He gives Ross an exact copy of the shirt that he's currently wearing, and pushes him into the room I had just left. He then comes over and examines me in the clothes. "Hmmm...... something doesn't look right", he mutters just loud enough for me to hear. He quickly snatches the iron sword from the sheath, and hangs it back up on the wall. He then uses various hooks on the wall to climb up. His feet go under two of the hooks, and he somehow stands horizontally on the wall. I'll give it to them, these assassins look pretty skilled. Insanity must have blunted their fear. They probably can't even understand what death is.
Dan looks around the ceiling, before pulling down a sword. He drops down from the wall and comes up to me with the sword. I take it and slip out the blade from the handle. It catches the light on the silver handle. Silver, not wood. The blade itself is made from shining budder, with swirling engravings along the center. The edge was sharper then the iron sword I had previously had. "Dan, where did you get this?", I ask in wonder. "Lots of stuff was thrown out after the war went South. That's about the time the guild formed. Most of the golden swords were thrown out, so this is the only one we found. Nobody else wanted it because of the grooves in the handle didn't fit anyone's hand. But it looks good for you", Dan explains in the British accent. He then plops back into the middle of the floor, just like when I first entered. Seems like crazy people have small bursts of intelligence.
Ross comes out of the changing room in his new shirt, and pushes me from behind to the hallway. I sheath the majestic budder sword as we walk down hall after hall. We pass more people, all doing something insane. A person, wearing a blue shirt that had a red and blue diamond on it, was hanging from the ceiling. Please let me somehow escape this fate. Ross stops at a pair of double doors, and I almost crash into him. He gives me a shaky smile before entering the room.
