As I shoved shoes on my feet and put on my sweater, I felt my heart race.

It was just a dream, I told myself. You're just going for a visit, that way you can rest easy knowing everything is fine.

I rushed out of my room and waited downstairs for Susie. When was wearing the old clothes that she hadn't worn in a while. She nodded at me, and we headed out the door. As we ran down the street, she stayed alert and pulled me along, while I focused on forgetting. We quickly reached the school. As it was a very small town, they never locked the doors. Susie and I snuck in silently and headed straight down the hall to the closet where we headed ourselves for the sudden fall.

I sat up. I looked around to find Susie, and saw her standing up. I started to get up myself. Slowly, we began our descent down the cliffs. Soon enough, we reached the quiet, empty town. But this time...

It was too quiet.

There was no sound whatsoever. Even the sound of the fountain had disappeared. You looked at Susie nervously. She looked confused.

"Ralsei?" she called out. A small gasp could be heard from inside the castle. Susie began walking towards the castle. I reached out a hand and stopped her from continuing. I looked at her anxiously and raised a finger to my mouth, motioning for her to be quiet. I stared at the castle, scanning it for any kind of movement. I saw something in the corner of my eye sticking out from a window in the castle, but by the time I looked at it, it was gone. Suddenly the castle door swung open.

"Susie! Blue person!" Lancer was running at us faster than I would've thought possible with his tiny legs.

"Lancer!" Susie exclaimed. She smiled wide and picked him up. "Where's Ralsei, Lancer?" Lancer made a sad face and tears welled up in his eyes.

"Oh, it's awful!" Lancet started telling us a story about how about a week after we showed up and saved the dark world, Ralsei had come to visit him and threatened to hurt his subjects if he didn't hand over the crown. Ralsei had forced people to do things and jailed anyone who tried to resist, and was going to have them punished. He had ordered the guards to jail Lancer, but they let him go free. He had been in hiding ever since. My eyes widened.

I had made a grave mistake.
