Kris' Pov

Toriel motioned for Susie and I to get in the back of her van. On the drive home, nobody said anything. Susie and I sat in back holding hands, just staring out the windows at our surroundings. It was more beautiful than ever, sitting next to her. And yet it still couldn't compare to her.

I looked over at her and swept the hair out of her eyes. Her face flushed and she looked at me. She brushed my hair out of my face. We stared at each other's eyes for a little, as if it was our little secret. I leaned forward and kissed her nose, causing her to glow a little redder. She was smiling, and it was such a lovely sight.

She rested her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes, still smiling. I started humming a lullaby, and she soon fell asleep. I let go of her hand and placed my arm around her. She snuggled closer to me. She looked so peaceful. It made me realize just how much pressure she had been under. I decided right then and there that I would keep h st away from pressure as much as possible. She had been through so much, and she didn't deserve any of it. I wanted her to always feel this peaceful. 

I wanted to protect her.

Just a little reminder that even the tough people in your life still need protection sometimes. Just because someone doesn't let on that things affect them, doesn't mean that they truly don't. Always stand up for people.
