This morning, I was glad to wake up to Natsu embracing me while I slept.

We're lucky only one of us drools while we sleep (me, of course) because otherwise we would have a mess every morning. Besides the already existing mess. Strewn bedsheets, pillows pushed off the sides. I don't think Natsu knows how to 'make' a bed, so it's usually me that cleans this stuff up.

About an hour later, Happy, Natsu, and I were sitting at the table eating breakfast and discussing our plans for the day.

"I think I'm going to hang out with Holly." I said, popping a strawberry in my mouth.

Natsu's face replicated his inner feelings of dislike, with him saying, "Ehhh... I don't have to hang out with Gray, do I?"

I stared at him sympathetically and he groaned.

"Do I have to come with?" Happy asked. "I have... better things to do."

"If I have to go, he does too." Natsu said frantically.

"Natsu," I sighed, assuring him. "You're going to be fine."

"No." He mumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Yes."

"Fine."

I picked up my dishes and washed them. When I had finished drying my hands, I heard the door click open and Holly walked in, with Gray tailing behind.

"I'm off." I said to Natsu, kissing the top of his head. His hair smelled like a bonfire. "Love you."

"Love you too." He mumbled, gruffly. Gray snickered at him, and Natsu stood up fast and squared up to him.

Holly and I left and sat at a distant bench along the river.

"Did you hear anything about the Lucy situation?" She asked, eyes wide.

"I trust that he was telling me the truth."

"And?"

"Well..." I said, pausing and looking around. "He had a little thing for her when they met but he definitely didn't and still doesn't want anything to do with her."

Holly snapped her fingers. "Instead of going shopping, we should break into her house."

"What?" I asked.

"I mean, is it really such a bad option?"

"Breaking and entering is against the law, Holly."

"Did she get arrested when she broke into your house?" Holly shrugged.

I'll have to admit she had a pretty strong point.

"But," I whispered. "People would see us... breaking into her house."

"Back door. Hair pin."

I inhaled sharply and looked around at passerby. Holly stared at me and waited for my decision.

"Ok. Let's go."

Holly lept up and grabbed my hand, pulling me away fast.

"Holly." I whisper-shouted. "Holly! Less suspicious please."

She stopped walking, and then continued, but slowed her pace. "Oh, right."

Honestly, if I was a random person on the street and I saw this, I literally wouldn't think anything of it.

Lucy's house was a few blocks away, and she was out on a mission, but she was returning sometime today. That part was one of the only complications (along with being arrested for B&E).

Holly snuck around the side of the house and jumped the fence.

"Dude!" I whispered.

"Oh, here."

The gate clicked open and she opened it for me, grabbing my sleeve and pulling me in fast.

"How many times have you done this?" I asked.

She shrugged. "I used to live on the streets."

The house lights were off and fortunately for us, the back door was open. No lock-picking needed.

Inside, the house was cold, and that was a pretty clear sign that Lucy wasn't home. (She would turn the temperature up when she got home because she clearly likes it warm if you know what I mean)

Holly looked around the bottom floor and shook her head. "It's pretty vacant and boring down here. No hiding spots for weird and secret stuff."

Upstairs was a little different. Two bedrooms, a bathroom, and an office with a locked door.

"Check the bedrooms first for any strange stuff." I said to Holly. "I'll check the bathroom."

The only thing I found in ten minutes of rummaging was the usual: Toothbrush, toothpaste, hygiene stuff.

Fungal cream. Wart remover.

Holly knocked on the door and motioned for me to come outside. She was holding a magazine; One which included a picture of Natsu. She flipped it open to the page with his face on it, except, it wasn't just his face.

Lucy had printed off a picture of herself and glued it in beside him, drawing hearts above their heads.

"Imagine what we'll find in the office." Holly mumbled eagerly.

I rolled my eyes and gave her the magazine back. "Put it exactly in the right place. Who knows what kind of crazy freak she could be."

Holly held up the magazine and I snickered.

When she came back, I watched her stick a bobby pin in the tiny little door hole and jimmy it open. The door clicked loudly and Holly stood up fast.

"Woah." She said. "It worked."

We went in and found a photo album on the desk, and nothing else besides scrapbooking materials.

"Family?" I asked, running my hands over the cover.

It wasn't family. To no one's surprise, it was a Natsu album.

"Oh, what the heck?" Holly said, frowning. "That is a whole different level of f*cked up."

I held my finger to my lips, shushing her.

Downstairs, I heard the front door open and keys jingle. Holly's eyes widened and we closed the door softly, locking it.

"What do we do?" I whispered.

Holly opened the closet and pulled me into it. "Cover yourself with the blanket pile."

"Oh crap. Oh crap." I whispered under a thick layer of blankets.

"Shhh." Holly said next to me in the dark.

Lucy came upstairs and went into her room, finding the light on. She frowned.

Holly gasped. "The light. I forgot to turn it off."

The door to the office clicked open, and my breath hitched.

'Hold it. Hold it. Hold it.' I thought to myself, breathing quietly.

Her footsteps trailed around the room, and she came back around and stood in front of the closet.

The door slid open and... nothing?

It closed back again and I heard Lucy leave the room and go to her bedroom. She played sleep music and locked her door.

"Why does she like locking doors so much." Holly mumbled.

"Here. Get up. We'll sneak out the window." I whispered.

"We're on the second floor." Holly said.

"I'll protect us." I said, standing up from under the blankets.

We opened the closet door and tip-toed to the window. We pulled it open and I climbed on the ledge.

That's when I heard the music stop and her bedroom door unlock.

Holly climbed on the window next to me and whispered, "1, 2, 3." Just as I heard someone start trying to open the door.

We jumped out, and before we hit the ground, I put up a barrier around us and we rolled into a bush.

Holly used her magic to make the bush boost us out of her yard just in time, and we landed with a thud on the concrete sidewalk on the opposite side of her house.
