Chapter 25
Their cars sped through the winding streets, the cityscape blurring past them in a dizzying display of lights and colors. Seungcheol's mind was focused and sharp, his senses heightened in preparation for the task ahead.
The mission required precision and stealth, and Seungcheol's team was experienced in handling such situations. They had worked together for years, and their trust in each other was absolute.
As they arrived at the warehouse, Seungcheol's team quickly and quietly gathered their weapons and equipment. They knew that Jeonghan's boss was dangerous and ruthless, and they had to be prepared for anything.
They approached the warehouse stealthily, staying hidden in the shadows as they observed the surroundings. There were guards stationed at the entrances, and they could hear the sound of voices coming from inside.
Seungcheol signaled for his team to move forward, and they crept closer to the warehouse, moving quickly and quietly. They had to be careful not to be spotted, as it could compromise the entire mission.
They reached the wall of the warehouse and pressed themselves against it, silently observing the movement of the guards. Seungcheol signaled for his team to split up, each taking a different route to enter the building unspotted.
Seungcheol's team moved silently through the shadows, their footsteps silent on the concrete floor. They followed their designated routes, careful not to make any noise or draw attention to themselves.
The air was thick with tension, the silence broken only by the occasional murmur of a guard or the rustle of clothing. Seungcheol's team moved with purpose and precision, their senses attuned to any potential danger.
As Seungcheol's team entered, they took a moment to observe their surroundings. There were several guards patrolling the area, and they could hear voices coming from deeper within the building.
They signaled to each other, silently communicating their positions and plans. They had to move quickly and quietly, taking out the guards without raising the alarm.
With a nod from Seungcheol, they moved in. They silently took out the guards. The guards fell silently to the ground, their bodies lying motionless on the cold concrete floor. Seungcheol's team continued moving forward, their senses heightened for any other potential threats.
They moved deeper into the building, their footsteps quiet and steady. The voices grew louder as they approached a room at the end of a long hallway. Seungcheol signaled for his team to proceed with caution.
They moved closer to the room, staying out of sight until they could see inside. They could see Jeonghan's boss sitting at a desk, flanked by several armed guards. He was speaking in a low, menacing voice.
With a final nod, they moved in. They sprang into action, taking out the guards with quick, precise movements. The room erupted in chaos, the sound of gunfire and grunts of pain filling the air.
Seungcheol and his team fought fiercely, their years of training and experience serving them well. They fought with a mix of martial arts and firearms, their movements fluid and deadly.
Jeonghan's boss cackled at the commotion, his laughter echoing through the room. He seemed unfazed by the fighting, his gaze cold and calculating.
"Is that the best you can do?" he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "You think you can get me so easily?"
Seungcheol grit his teeth, feeling the anger boiling inside of him. "We're just getting started," he retorted, his voice filled with determination.
The boss chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "You really think you can defeat me?" he taunted. "You're nothing but a bunch of useless children playing at being heroes."
Seungcheol's team bristled at the insult, their determination flaring even stronger. "We're not children," Seungcheol shot back. "And we're more than capable of taking you down."
The boss laughed "Aren't you the famous SCoups and his gang Seventeen or should I say Choi Seungcheol?" his voices laced with mockery.
Seungcheol's eyes narrowed as his real name was mentioned. He hadn't expected Jeonghan's boss to know his name, and the knowledge sent a chill down his spine. "How do you know my name?" he asked, his voice laced with suspicion.
He laughed again "I know you before but I guess you don't remember me?"
Seungcheol's mind raced, trying to recall who Jeonghan's boss could be. He was sure that he had never seen the man before, but the familiarity in his voice was disconcerting.
"Who are you?" he asked again, his voice hardening. "And why do you know me?"
Jeonghan's boss smirked, his gaze cold and calculating. "You don't remember me, do you?" he asked. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It's been years since we last saw each other."
Seungcheol's mind churned furiously, trying to recall any memories of the man sitting in front of him. But his memories remained frustratingly blank, leaving him feeling disoriented and uncertain.
Jeonghan's boss chuckled, amused by Seungcheol's frustration. "I suppose I should introduce myself, huh?" he said, his voice laced with mockery. "I'm Hyunwoo. Do you remember me now?"
Suddenly, Seungcheol was hit with a flash of memory. It was a hazy, distant memory, like an old dream long forgotten. He remembered Hyunwoo, a man from his past whom he had never expected to see again.
Hyunwoo smirked "I guess now you remembered me. Of course the one who murdered your parents. Ah.. surely my face changed during those years."
Seungcheol's blood ran cold as the memory came flooding back. Hyunwoo, the man who had killed his parents years ago, was now sitting in front of him, taunting him with a smug smile.
The mention of his parents' murder hit Seungcheol like a punch to the gut. His anger and hatred towards Hyunwoo, which had been simmering just below the surface, suddenly flared up with renewed intensity.
He clenched his fists tightly, trying to keep his emotions under control. He had to keep a clear head, to focus on the mission and take out Hyunwoo once and for all. But the pain and anger he felt at seeing the man responsible for his parents' deaths was almost overwhelming.
The room fell into a tense silence, the guns pointed silently at Hyunwoo. Seungcheol's team stood poised, ready to fire at a moment's notice.
Hyunwoo raised his hands slowly, a hint of mocking amusement still on his face. "Well, well, if it isn't little Seungcheol all grown up and playing hero."
The man face was filled with amusement. "Oh also before killing me as I am too old and won't held any grudges. To tell the truth I didn't kill your parents directly I send a man to kill your parents fun part is that it is someone you might know."
Seungcheol's heart squeezed tightly, the mention of his parents' murder like a cruel taunt. He didn't want to believe what Hyunwoo was saying, but a small part of him wondered if there was some truth to his words.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice quiet and steady. "Who was it that you sent to kill my parents?"
Hyunwoo chuckled, enjoying the effect his words were having on Seungcheol. "Oh, it was someone you knew very well," he said, his voice dripping with sadistic glee. "Want to guess who it was?"
"Just tell me who it was," Seungcheol said, his voice cracking slightly with emotion. "Don't play games with me."
Hyunwoo continued to smile, enjoying Seungcheol's unease. "Oh, but where's the fun in that?" he said, his voice still dripping with mockery. "How about I give you a little hint instead?"
Seungcheol's frustration and anger continued to build, but he knew that Hyunwoo was taking pleasure in his irritation. "Just tell me," he said through clenched teeth gripping the gun tightly. "I don't have time for games."
Hyunwoo chuckled again, reveling in Seungcheol's growing impatience. "Alright, alright, I'll give you a hint," he relented, still enjoying the power he held over Seungcheol.
"A thief with his son you have kept them in your house."
Seungcheol's heart skipped a beat as Hyunwoo dropped the hint. It couldn't be true. There was no way Jeonghan had anything to do with his parents' deaths.
"You're lying," he said, his voice firm but betraying a hint of doubt.
Hyunwoo laughed, enjoying the shock on Seungcheol's face. "Am I lying, though?" he said, his voice still smug. "Or are you just in denial?"
Seungcheol's mind was swirling with confusion and disbelief. He didn't want to believe that Jeonghan could be responsible for his parents' deaths, but he couldn't shake off the nagging doubts that were beginning to form in his mind.
"You're just trying to mess with my head," he said, his voice more certain than he actually felt. "Jeonghan would never do something like that."
Hyunwoo smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Are you sure about that?" he asked, his voice low and ominous. "You really think you know Jeonghan that well?"
Seungcheol's heart was pounding in his chest, his mind spinning with doubts and conflicted emotions. He had always trusted Jeonghan implicitly, but now he couldn't help but question everything he thought he knew about him.
"I know Jeonghan well," he said, trying to convince himself as much as Hyunwoo. "He would never hurt anyone innocent. He's not that kind of person."
Hyunwoo chuckled, his laughter dripping with malice. "Oh, Seungcheol," he said, his voice dripping with patronizing tone. "You're so naive, it's almost endearing. You really think you know Jeonghan completely?"
"He just enjoying your care and shelter because he is afraid I will take his son again."
Seungcheol's heart seized at Hyunwoo's words. The thought of Jeonghan manipulating him for his own personal gain was almost too much to bear. Jeonghan sometimes been guarded and somewhat closed off. Was it possible that Seungcheol had been fooled by his own goodwill?
"You're just trying to plant doubts in my mind," he said, his voice faltering slightly. "Jeonghan wouldn't use me like that. He's not a bad person. He's just scared for his son."
Hyunwoo's smirk widened, relishing in Seungcheol's growing uncertainty. "Want to know the truth, Seungcheol?" he said, his voice a mocking drawl.
"Just ask Jeonghan yourself. Ask him every last detail of his past, every thought and feeling he has ever had. Then, you'll learn if he's been honest with you or not."
The room erupted in gunfire as Seungcheol's team unleashed a barrage of bullets at Hyunwoo with his signal. The air was thick with the acrid scent of gunpowder as the sound of gunfire echoed loudly.
Seungcheol watched as the bullets hit their mark, watching Hyunwoo's body slump down onto the desk oozing with blood. It was a bitter victory, but he couldn't deny the sense of relief he felt at seeing his enemy defeated.
Despite the satisfaction of taking out Hyunwoo, Seungcheol knew that he had a bigger problem to face.
Jeonghan.
