Chapter 1
Seungcheol was sitting at his desk, going through some paperwork when he heard a knock on his office door. “Come in,” he said, without looking up.
The door opened and his second-in-command, Joshua, walked in. “We’ve got a situation,” Joshua said, his tone serious.
Seungcheol looked up, his expression turning serious. “What is it?” he asked.
Joshua handed him a file. “Someone hacked into our system and stole some confidential information,” he explained.
Seungcheol groaned it was the second time it had happened.
His eyes narrowed as he flipped through the file. “Any idea who it was?” he asked.
Joshua shook his head. “No, but they're good. We've been trying to figure out who they are, but so far, we haven't had any luck.”
Seungcheol leaned back in his chair, frowning. “This isn’t good,” he said.
“We can’t have someone messing with our operations like this. We need to find out who they are and shut them down.”
Joshua nodded. “I’ve already got guys working on it. But I thought you’d want to know.”
“Thanks,” Seungcheol said, still scanning through the file. “Keep me updated.”
Joshua nodded and then left the office. Once he was gone, Seungcheol leaned back in his chair, lost in thought. He had to find out who was behind this and put a stop to it before it caused any more damage to his organization.
As he continued going through the file, a thought suddenly occurred to him.
He couldn't shake off the feeling that whoever had hacked into their system was no ordinary hacker. There was something about the way they had bypassed all their security measures that made him uneasy, like they had some sort of inside knowledge.
He got up from his desk and started pacing around the office, still trying to piece it all together. He knew he couldn't rule out the possibility that it could be an inside job, but he also couldn't dismiss the idea that it could be a competitor trying to get an edge.
He clenched his jaw in frustration. The uncertainty was eating away at him. He hated not knowing who he was up against.
The telecom in his office rang cutting off from his thoughts. Seungcheol crossed the room and picked up the phone from his desk. “Yes?” he said, his tone restless.
“We have a problem,” Mingyu’s voice came through the line, his tone serious.
Seungcheol’s eyes narrowed. “What is it?” he asked, immediately sensing that it was something important.
“We’ve got a situation at the warehouse,” Mingyu explained. “There’s someone there that shouldn't be there.”
Seungcheol’s heart rate picked up. “Who?” he asked urgently.
"We don't know cause that person image isn't showing in the CCTV footage anymore." Mingyu spoke with frustration, something aggressive typing was heard from the background.
Seungcheol let out a curse under his breath. “How the hell did they get in there without being detected?” he asked, his mind racing.
“We don't know,” Mingyu replied, frustration evident in his voice. “But they're smart. They knew exactly where to avoid the cameras. And they're skilled. They managed to bypass all the locks on the doors and windows without leaving any trace.”
Seungcheol clenched his jaw. This was bad.
If someone had managed to break into their warehouse undetected, they could have stolen who knows what kind of sensitive information or supplies. He couldn’t afford for that to happen.
Seungcheol hung up the phone and immediately got to work. He called up all the members of his gang and within minutes they were all gathered in the main room. Each one of them looking alert and serious.
Once everyone was there, Seungcheol stood up from his chair and addressed the group.
“We have a situation,” he said bluntly. “Someone managed to break into the warehouse undetected and we have no idea who it was or what they took.”
A murmur went through the group as they all exchanged looks of concern. “How the hell did they do that?” Hoshi asked, his eyes narrowed.
“We don't know,” Seungcheol said grimly. “Mingyu and Wonwoo are trying to figure that out as we speak, but for now, we need to be on high alert. Whoever did this is clearly very skilled and we can't afford to underestimate them.”
Seungcheol's eyes scanned the room, his expression serious.
“I know that each and every one of you has been loyal to me and this gang. But I have to ask you all this. Is there any chance that one of you is working against us? Because I need to know right now.”
The room fell silent, the atmosphere tense. Each member looked at one another, trying to read each other's expressions. No one said anything, but the doubt and suspicion was palpable in the air.
Seungcheol watched them all closely, his face giving away nothing. He knew he couldn't rule out any possibility, but he hoped that his gut instinct was right.
He believed in his men, but he also couldn't ignore the fact that they were all capable of betrayal.
After a few moments of tense silence, Seungcheol spoke up again. “I trust each and every one of you,” he said firmly.
“And I want to believe that none of you would betray us. But until we find out who broke into the warehouse, I need all of you to be extra vigilant and report anything suspicious immediately. Understood?”
The members nodded, each one of them looking determined to find out who was behind this. Despite the tension in the air, there was a sense of unity and loyalty among them. They knew that they were all in this together.
“Good,” Seungcheol said, letting out a deep breath. “Now let's get to work. I want everyone to be on high alert and to report any suspicious activity immediately. We need to find out who is behind this and deal with them quickly.”
The members all nodded and started to murmur amongst themselves, discussing their next steps and what they could do to strengthen their security.
Seungcheol watched them for a moment, his mind still racing. He couldn't shake off the feeling that whoever was behind this was just getting started.
He had always considered himself a man who was one step ahead of everyone, a man who could predict and plan for every possibility. But this situation had caught him off guard, and he didn't like it. He needed to find out who was behind this and he needed to do it fast.
As he watched his men discuss and strategize, he knew that he couldn't afford to underestimate their enemy. Whoever it was, they were skilled. They had managed to break into their warehouse without being detected and had evaded all their security measures. That meant they were smart and they were calculated.
Woozi spoke "I forgot to say one thing there's a auction for that diamond you were looking for a few months."
Seungcheol's ears perked up at Woozi's words. The diamond he had been trying to get his hands on for months was up for auction? This could be an opportunity they couldn't afford to miss.
"When and where is the auction taking place?" he asked immediately, his mind already calculating the possibilities.
"It's happening on Friday night at a secure location," Woozi explained. "But the security is extremely tight. Only invited guests are allowed in and there will be security measures in place to prevent any unauthorized entry."
Seungcheol's eyes narrowed, considering the information. "Any idea who is hosting the auction?" he asked. "And how did you find out about it?"
"I have my sources," Woozi said with a slight smirk. "As for who is hosting the auction, they are keeping everything secret. All communication has been through an anonymous email address and the location will only be revealed to the invited guests on the night of the auction."
Seungcheol let out a low whistle, impressed by the level of secrecy surrounding the auction. "That's some serious security," he admitted. "But we have to find a way to get in there and get our hands on that diamond. It's too valuable to let slip through our fingers."
"It won't be easy," Woozi warned. "The security is top-notch and the people involved in the auction are not the kind who can be easily dealt with. We have to be careful."
Woozi tilted his head. Seungcheol followed Woozi's gaze to The8, who was leaning against the wall, listening intently. The8 was known for his skills in infiltration and getting into places he wasn't supposed to be.
All eyes turned to The8 as he spoke up. "I have an idea." Seungcheol and the rest of the room waited expectantly, listening for his idea.
"We steal."
There was a moment of stunned silence as the room processed The8's suggestion. Steal the diamond? That was a bold plan, and Seungcheol had to admit that he was a little intrigued.
"Are we playing Tom and Jerry or what?" there were a few chuckles around the room at Dino's comment.
Seungcheol couldn't afford to let the situation get too relaxed. "This is serious, guys," he said, his tone firm. "We can't just go in there guns blazing."
"No we are not stealing from them." The8 spoke. Seungcheol raised an eyebrow, his mind turning as he tried to figure out what The8 was getting at. "Then what are you proposing?" he asked, genuinely curious now.
"We steal from 1004."
There was a collective gasp in the room at The8's words. "You want to steal the diamond from 1004?" Seungcheol repeated, surprise and disbelief in his tone.
Seungcheol could feel the tension in the room growing thicker as the members exchanged glances, considering The8's suggestion.
Joshua spoke up, his voice full of skepticism. "Are you crazy? 1004 is a legend in the underground world. He's never failed a mission in his entire career."
Seungcheol had to admit that the member had a point. The8 was proposing a risky move, but it could also pay off big time if they managed to pull it off.
He turned to The8. "How do you plan on stealing it from 1004?" he asked.
The8 smirked, his eyes glinting mischievously. "That's where my plan comes in," he said, clearly enjoying the attention he was getting. "We need to outsmart him, and I have an idea on how to do just that."
